I'll admit that I was pretty excited to be in the room when guild halls were finally revealed. The sheer size of the Tier 3 "Island Fortress" is fairly intense. It's at least five times the size of a zone like Qeynos Harbor with rooms and staircases that go on forever.

When Jindrack and Rothgar began to show off the list of amenities to the assembled Fanfaire attendees, they scrolled through pretty quickly. What they didn't count on was that our own Clockwork Cameraman Pantheros was on-hand to snap off several dozen "burst" shots on his high end Canon SLR. The short version is that we managed to collect every revealed amenity and cost that SOE saw fit to put on the screen and scroll through.

Now, because we really want to share that information with the rest of you, our Clockwork Overlord, Zobek, has been hard at work over the past few days building out a Ennumeration Calculatron Device (something like that) for us to use to figure out just how expensive a Guild Hall will be for us. However, this tool is just so much fun to play with, we've decided to make it available to everyone to use.

So, for your enjoyment, I present the Clockwork Gamer Guild Hall Cost Calculator, which you can also find under our handy "tools" section. Have fun planning!

WOW!!!

This is a huge help SMILEY

I took the liberty of linking it to my guild via our forums SMILEY This will make things so much easier to figure out.

Thanks for taking the time out to do the work needed to let people figure out costs etc ahead of time!!

Very nice!  Thanks muchly for that SMILEY  It definitely shows how quickly costs will go up if you take too many amenities, heh, but its nice to be able to see which ones cost more and prioritize for cost effectiveness vs convenience.

Awesome work for sure. That T3 courtyard landmark statue is definitely a staggering price tag, feel there will probably be very few guilds able to justify that, but I suppose that's the point. SMILEY

It sure is expensive... but not quite as expensive as I made it out to be. The status cost for purchase on the statue is 30 million, not 300.... whoops. SMILEYThe tool has been updated to reflect this correction.

During this panel, as I struggled with my ancient digital camera which was faving FITS taking shots of the projection, I heard a camera not too far behind me doing rapid-fire shuttering and thought "dang, I gotta get me one of those!"  Nice work SMILEY

Congratulations on building this fantastic calculator. I linked to it from my blog and updated my amenities listings to include the ~10 I'd left out.

That was Pantheros, our member who had the fully embroidered guild cloak made.  He brought his SLR to Fanfaire and ended up taking around 900 pictures, if I recall.  Zobek was able to take those and program the tool we listed.  All I did was tell everyone about it - those two deserve all the praise.

Just because some people prefer to "know" the amenities and costs, we've also provided a full listing of all known amenities and their costs.  Drop by and take a look at our Guild Halls Amenities List.

This is wonderful, I thank all of you who worked on this from the bottom of my heart.  I had not anticipated the amenity upkeep cost, but now we have a more realistic goal to work towards, and won't be so shocked at the first bill hehe.

Thrax was having camera envy.  BTW, to all who were not there, the presenter (Aerilik? I forget who was presenting it) scrolled through the amenities listing up and down -fast- pausing only a few times.  I think he was intentionally trying not to give anyone a full and complete view of them that could be easily picture-a-fied.  But we had a kitty ranger sitting on the end for a reason!  He shot them pictures good and dea... oh.. umm.. But he didn't get any agro!

Just posted a new version!

Quick change summary:

  • Cost for the hall separated from the cost for the amenities. To save space, I removed the "grand total" figures, but can put them back easily it's desired.
  • The tooltips for each amenity now display the individual purchase/upkeep values - no more having to check a box just to see what an item costs!
  • Status purchase costs for the Landmark Statue and Orrery are corrected at 30 million and 10 million, respectively
  • Added the Guild Hall Stylist, with costs
  • Added the Guild Hall Mender - disabled until costs are known.

Thanks for the caculator. When you add a few things the cost of even the small halls is out of the question. I'm not here to restart the debate all over again but adding even a few things makes the halls unaffordable. I applaud SOE for dropping the initial price of a small hall but adding anything at all seems to need the same halving of costs/status.I'm assuming that the amenities costs is the same as the pre-drop in costs. Will these amenities be 1/2ed like the halls themselves? If they were dropped in half then it would still hurt but at least we could afford a few things... not many but a few. Without a drop in costs we could afford the halls but not afford to put anything in them.It seems that while the three hall sizes have different costs that any amenities are the same cost for all three halls. While I know this is fair because each provide the same function... it breaks down because the price of the amenities is geared toward the larger guilds which kills the smaller guilds.Example:T1 Hall50p to buy50g/10,000 status tax per week or 26% tax per yearT2 Hall250p to buy2p50g/100,000 status per week or 26% tax per yearT3 Hall1000p to buy10p/200,000 status per week or 52% tax per yearNow the cost of the T1/T2 were lowered to help smaller guilds afford them (thanks!) but look at the deal when you add amenities because the cost are the same for all three:Druid Portal:50p/5,000,000 status to buy50g/25,000 status per week taxGuild Banker:50p/5,000,000 status to buy50g/25,000 status per week taxNow look at the breakdown per level to buy and maintain just these two amenities:T1 = 100p/10,000,000 to buy vs 50p to buy the hall and 1p/50,000 status per week tax or 52% tax for these two amenitiesT2 = 100p/10,000,000 to buy vs 250p to buy the hall and 1p/50,000 status per week tax or 21% tax for these two amenitiesT3 = 100p/10,000,000 to buy vs 1000p to buy the hall and 1p/50,000 status per week tax or 5% tax for these two amenitiesSo yes it's fair because buying something across all three halls should cost the same because they do the same function. I know this and can understand the logic. It just that the cost seems to have been set based upon what a T3 guild can afford instead of what a T1 guild can afford.I don't know about the rest of you but I can scrape together 50p to buy a T1 Hall eventually. I can even afford the 50g weekly rent and 10,000 status. There is no way in the world I can afford 1.5p per week (and this is ONLY with two things) and the real killer.....110,000 status per week coming from one person! No way! Yes I can grind writs and/or Work Orders and last night I tried to see how long it would take me to get 110,000 status for the week doing Work Orders at 13,140 a pop. Let's assume that I'm really good and each one only takes me 5 minutes. I would need to grind 45 minutes a week just to pay for the hall and two really basic items.45 minutes seems a bit much for just a tax and it only gets worse as you add more things. So the large debate on the other thread made T1/T2's very affordable and once again I really thank SOE for listening but these amenities need to be redone to either be cheaper or to scale with the hall.In "theory" if you want some justification as to why a banker in a T1 costs less to maintain than a T3 banker you can look at potential use. A large "busy" bank needs more tellers and has a higher cost because more people will be using it vs a small local bank in the sticks that may only see a handfull of customers a day.So please consider having the costs scale some with the guild level for while you just made Guild Halls affordable to everyone who will put a little work into the game... many of us will not be able to put anything into our empty halls SMILEYI am not looking for a handout. I am not looking for small guilds to get stuff for free. I am looking for a way to afford at lease "some" amenities.Any thought, BTW, to adding a new status coin to the game that allows people to buy and sell status as a means of having the members contribute to status upkeep? Yes they are in the game now but only as drops and the amount is pretty low. Members could buy these coins and give them to the GL to help pay for status costs. Bonus is that it also would be a plat sink.

I think Jethal is referring to the room dividers which were added a couple of updates ago.  Some screenshots here. And nice tool for those drooling over guildhalls!
