Edit:  Figher merc sorry for title..misread.

Just saying.......

Will it be one per account or one per toon?  And will we have to actually pay an upkeep?  LOL

I know you could say "oh but you are getting access to the event."  Lets be real.... lol

Will we get the merc right away? or will we have to wait till after the event...many questions lol

that is a little misleading - you are paying the money to attend the event, the items is the candy benefit for doing it, I guess if you buy the ticket just to get the merc and not attend then you are paying 40 for the item, although not sure why

I don't know what you're saying. lol. (the lol is sarcasm. I'm not laughing)

(word I want to use) with this continued ptw model. Announce it. Just do it. Stop hiding.

I hate it, but I hate even more that you think you're being sneaky with it.

The ptw model will probably be implemented slowly regardless of how we feel.  Some odd reason I have no beef with mercs though because everything prior to sky or st nobody hardly groups for anyways so why not ?  Just saying...and the regular sk merc can pretty much run through any heroic instance lower level.

Well I did a feedback awhile ago saying I would pay upwards of 5000sc for a very great elite merc of a certain type.  I suppose 40.00 is fair if the merc is infact elite.

Have no idea really at this point which is why I am hoping a dev speaks on the issue.

Perhaps later they will just sell them on sc?

Perhaps. SC sucks. Play the game.

You know they had this planned from the start though with the elites being as rare as they are etc....bring on the demand and then pop them up for a price.

Note -- it's a Fighter-type merc, not a Healer. This was updated today.

Thanks.  Any word if its an elite-status type or just normal?  Considering its a vampire i could see Gninja taking vitta and putting her on steroids lol

It was an update made today; it did say Healer before.

I'm checking on whether it's normal or elite status.

I've used mercs a handful of times...and I've felt dirty each time.

Knowing what the plan was....that goes back to old Smedley quotes and easily to SJ lies...has nothing to do with it. This flat out sucks, and I can't say what I want to because my opinion will be erased if I do.

Could you make sure it's able to hold agro? Currently only the paladin merc is able to tank over *any* competent player. It'd be a shame if the fan faire merc ends up worthless.

The vampire merc is a bit of a mix of elite and normal mercs. It has unique abilities which the shadowknight merc does not have but it uses the same buffs/power level of the normal mercs.

First, about the merc -- it's actually between the two levels. It will have some extra abilities that the normal merc does not have, but not all the features of an elite. Make sense?

Second, we don't have an exact timeline for the distribution of the items, but everyone will be granted the items at once. Since we do allow on site registration, that means that, yes, it will be after the event.

Third, yes, anyone who purchases a badge (any level) will receive the included in-game items. The in-game items are one per account.

Are you certain they're per account? They've been per character the past three years.

Vampire with unique abilities.....even with normal merc stats these abilities could put them in a class of there own.

Lets see...vampire im thinking of a heavy lifetap of some sort...maybe groupwise? hmmm lol

Imagine a merc with its own pet....he said the vampire was normal what if the pet is uber? LOL j/k

Now if the vampire looks like Mayong or one of the EoF vampires that is cool.   The bloodline ones are..mmm ok.

Heh watch them give the vampire an ability that cures everything+lifetaps+wards or something crazy SMILEY

I can live with that look

I am betraying my conji back to necro who has matri dut for heals.   I really dont know why they just dont change the aqua pet into a point blank medium heal.  Necro has one I can use every 6 seconds which heals my merc very well.  *shrugs*

My inq could use the new fighter merc..been trying to find kenny to no avail so far.

Can any red name confirm the following: Can you receive the merc even if you don't go to the fan faire by registering and paying $40? How will it work in terms of claiming? Will it go into the merc window as an additional option like a mount? Will you be able to dismiss it and get it back later? By saying its the same buffs/power as a normal merc with different abilities like an elite, will than mean HP, avoidance, tanking ability be like a normal merc but with a slight twist? Or will it be stronger like an elite merc (ie the equivalent of having a raid geared player character who's just a bit more stupid than a player). There's a massive difference between an elite merc and a normal merc.

Nothing sneaky about in-game items for attending SoE Live , since they have had that before and with preorders and collector's editions.

This is a age old tradtion  Over the last 20 years  i  have chosen to spend lots of extra bucks on different games for some pixeldust to make my gameplay more enjoyable.

well think about it this way maybe you'll only have to pay the merc the blood of your enemies instead of coin (not likely though the blood is probably the merc's bonus salary)

the way it's described to me sounds like it's going to be a regular merc as far as hp/power/defense/offesne goes...just going to have elite spells (masters) and a couple special spells/cas for flavor.

Thing is stat wise its not elite...however he could tech give it an ability that just rocks the house making it very worth while for a fighter merc.  Ex.  What if that merc has an ability to heal group+dmg+cure all on a five second recharge?  still would be considered normal via stats but that one ability would make it imho worth more SMILEY

many ways to get around things har har

That's pretty scary stuff, when you consider how over-powered normal mercs are.

I realize now what was in front of my face. I was thinking this was a SC deal even after having the information provided directly to me.

I still think it sucks. In game advantage shouldn't be given to those who attend fanfaire. Gimmickly fun stuff? Sure. Elite mercs? Hell no.
