[BUGs, minor, 2] The Reach of Ivy

1) quest still requires that you collect 3 sap, but only uses one of the sap in the recipe. Leftover vials of sap remain in inventory after you are finished with the quest.
2) When you "Speak to Temry Loneivy in Vegarlson" on first entering the zone, he has a quest feather over his head instead of a quest book.


And for the record, even though this is my 9th run through the TS line, I'm still getting grins out of the stray bits of humor in the line. FOR SCIENCE!

[BUG, minor] Rockin' n Knockin'

If you have to camp after coating your gear with the pollen before you check on the arborians, the hidden flag that makes the arborians non-aggro disappears. This may be a bit of a rude surprise for some folks. BigGrin

I coated my gear, then had to check something on an alt for someone asking questions in discord, then hopped back and the arborians were aggro but updated the quest. Deleted and re-obtained the quest to test that this wasn't a rencent change to the line and they were nonaggro. Yep, this really is minor, but since some squishy will find it out the hard way, I figured I'd best report it in.

I found the young fire wasp hordes were quite lethal to my ratonga swashbuckling carpenter. He too was wearing the beta gear for solo timelines -- and yes --- pretty much insta-kill. They are really overpowered for a solo zone.

Fourth time's the charm!

I like using the Nilborien illusion as a temporary mount. This is the first time I noticed the message that told me that it was placed in my mount window. Nice fix!

I added a check on the zone so when you reenter (zoning in or logging in from camping there) the spell gets reapplied to you. This will remain even after the quests are done. Happy harvesting around the arborians Smile

It's weird that you get the recipe by walking up to the Bixel Hive. Storywise, we should get the recipe for the sticky traps from the Recipes for Adventure tome, i.e., before we travel to the Hive.

Some of the NPCs arent going to show a feather/book on the map but might show it over their heads. I'm not sure there is a way to fix this because they do not use the normal quest offer/update system. It has to be scripted sometimes when you have two NPCs talking at same time.

Proof of Power

Speed is 150 now after patch today not 20, thank you for that

The quest is now very confusing as clicky option in the quest window does nothing, but says it will click the illusion from your inventory but when you look in inventory there is nothing there

There was nothing to suggest that a mount / mount window is involved.

Ok enough is enough. I am working on The Scrivener's Tale: Difficulties Delivering and trying to get the strange bag, which is right by some young fire wasps that no matter what I do, I aggro and they insta-kill me. I know I can go see an NPC in zone and buy the bag from someone but, yes, that is a pain. Please move the bag so it is nowhere near the darn wasps!

I am on a tradeskill alt, BTW. She is wearing the gear from the box at the beginning part of the library.

Nice fix. Aw..... only in the zone? I didn't check with my guy that got the mount version (I will later), but does the illusion work as an appearance mount or does it have to be your main mount?

I started yet another toon through the crafting timeline to take better notes on how the recipes sort. I wrote some observations down late in the questline earlier. I am taking detailed notes on how recipes sort this time through. Most of the recipes sort as recipe scrolls. A few sort as quest items. I think this list is complete but I am in the process of double checking it.

These are the recipes that I have observed to sort as quest items:
Enhanced Spirit of the Wolf Scroll (Escargot Overclocking)
Protective Coating (In Preparation for Anything)
Decay Suspension Scroll (In Preparation for Anything)
Divine Antibiotic Potion (Custodial Refurbishment)
Indestructible Cookie (Copper for a Tale)

Additionally, the Embolden Spell Book used in Animating the Inanimate sorts as a bauble which is technically correct I suppose but it was confusing trying to find it the first time with the way my bags are set to sort.

This is probably a pipe dream but I might as well put it out there!

While doing the beta crafting timelines, I haven't dared to use my harvesting outfits because they make characters pretty squishy. It occurred to me that it would be really nice to have a way to equip harvesting/trade skill gear without disturbing our adventuring gear. We already have appearance gear equipped with our adventuring gear. How nice it would be to reward our previous endeavors in trade skills by having a special place to keep items equipped and save the layouts (ie crafting vs harvesting) like we do for appearance and adventuring outfits! (Insert sound track of Aerosmith's Dream On. Wink )

Afterthought (Dream big?): Perhaps there could be a way to toggle appearance between crafting gear and adventuring gear if no items were equipped as appearance items.......

Dear sweet, kind, considerate and thoughtful Gninja, can we please have some dewpalm lumber nodes in Doomfire, the Burning Lands fall to the ground where they are not being guarded by nasty waspies and the hordes of young fire wasps???
The only ones I seem to be able to track are really tricky grabs for less well developed 110 adventurers in beta gear. My adventuring alts have no trouble killing and surviving the dang things but its irksome with the mostly tradeskill alts.Cool
Having some lumber tumble into the cemetery area would be really nice!

Wow I found some lumber on the ground! (Methinks it gets snapped up quickly when its accessible!)

I have sets defined for Crafting, Harvesting, Tinkering, Transmute/Adorn, and War Gear on all my characters. If I'm harvesting in an area where it's too dangerous to wear all my harvesting boost gear, I wear my War Gear with the Earring of the Solstice, Cloak of Harvesting, and maybe the Coldain Prayer Shawl.

I would not be in favor of basically allowing you the stats from both adventure and harvesting gear at the same time, because you know some people would equip double adventure gear for the extra stats. I think you have to make a decision about how much risk you are willing to take to get your big harvesting boosts.

Also, if you want a whole new window of gear like the appearance tab added to the Character window, that's not something to slide into mid-Beta. That would be an added improvement for next year some time.

I have different sets of gear set up as well. And of course I am sure most of us have shown up to raid in crafting gear. In my fantasy, only trade skilling items could be equipped in the new window and no adventuring stats would be added from the area. I know this is a pipe dream and not likely to be implemented, but its a shame to have a pack full of clever gear that isn't as useful as it might be. This really was just something to throw out there that occurred to me during beta testing. I figured it could go in the scrap pile or the suggestions list as warranted.

It really hasn't been as big of an issue before this expansion. In PoP, I could easily wear my crafting outfits on my main characters and be confident that their merc could protect them. In this expansion, my raid toon died while harvesting in her harvesting gear with her merc up. That never happened before...........so it is a bit of a beta issue!

Quest: The Scrivener's Tale: The Proof of Power
Questgiver: Recipes for Adventure

(1) Adding the /cry instruction explicitly to the quest journal text is too much hand-holding, I think. I'd rather see the Recipes for Adventure book repeat the line "CRY out to Xegony!" several times, with CRY really emphasized.

(2) The instructions about using the Celestial Nilborien Illusion from the mount window are clear and easily followed.

(3) The Celestial Nilborien Illusion does nothing except provide a flying mount that can't be overridden by your appearance mount. It does NOT make you non-aggro from, say, real nilboriens.Why even bother with it at all, period?

(3A) Why even bother making the Celestial Nilborien Illusion a mount? Yeah, if we go flying off on our regular mount, the illusion disappears, but while we're standing on the ground, an illusion would show up, right?

(3B) Suggestion: wearing the Celestial Nilborien Illusion should make you safe from aggro, and the illusion should break if you try to engage in combat, harvest, etc. while using it... whether it remains a as mount or reverts to a true illusion.

(3B) While I was over here typing out this feedback, the mount dismounted me and shut itself off. If its gonna do that, there should be a timer up in the top of the quest journal HUD counting down how long you have exactly before the illusion shuts off in bold red numbers. Yes, the maintained window has that info, but who checks on mount timers? Normal mounts don't expire in 15 minutes! If it's a mount, it should stay active until you unequip it. If it's an illusion, 15 minutes is fine. But if it's a 15 minute mount, then that timer should be in your face, because otherwise it's going to expire on some people while they are flying because they took a bio or otherwise dawdled before flying off in it.

WOW..... I think getting the Divine Weapons of Ro recipe as a reward for Difficulties Delivering is new. Very nice!
..........Except I am getting the feeling we may have to have a set of weapons for each zone!?

I appreciate all the hard work you put into this issue and applaud you for the success in a solution that is fun! We can relive the story anytime we return to the zone...........as long as the nostalgia passes in less than 15 minutes!

Now I am going to [ctrl z] and crouch sheepishly before I make my next suggestion on this issue Eek.

As I was standing by the workbench at the entrance to the Wind zone while summoning an engraved desk to craft the illusion spell, it occurred to me that perhaps a mount might be better crafted as a jewelry item using the workbench that is in the zone already! (/e duck, cover and run.)

Just so you know: if you fail the recipe, you have several options:
1/ click TWICE on the bag next to Ghida and you'll get everything back but the malachite shards (I got the latch bindings the second time I clicked and not the first one)
2/ When buying a second time the malachite shards, you'll see that the other ingredients are now on the merchant for 12 plats each, in case you miss a third time.
Her bag respawns too.
(you're obviously not reimbursed for the extra cash spent)

I love options, it's very well done.

That one has been fixed for a while. Harvesting the 2 parts in a row is way better (even if still somewhat weird, but hey, one can understand doing one shopping list then the next)

The Scrivener's Tale: Incumbent Incubation
Dialog with Zuvet still says that I grabbed the gems (Zuvet says "I see you managed to get them to part ways with the gems (...)" and I answer:"I kind of just took them when they weren't looking, they had the beds so they didn't bother chasing me. Whait, what test?"). We only have "place beds" when clicking where the beds should be. Perhaps change the text to say "place bed and gather gems".

(yay for the map in Doomfire btw, waypoints are unreliable in this zone and it helps a lot)

The Scrivener's Tale: Difficulties Delivering
I'm unsure of the phrasing on turn in to Mourndax. He says "Excellent! How did you get so many? I doubt it possible to collect that many in that short amount of time." English is not my first language but it seems off somewhat.

The Scrivener's Tale: Source of Discontent
The healing stones use quite a bit of resources. I can understand it for big beds like in Doomfire, but 8/25/20/20/50 x6 is a bit steep. (quest text is fixed to speak only about stones, that's perfect)
Tried failing the roguefurt recipe to no avail, it works!
Dylindra is still lacking a spell casting animation while she works on the rune at the end.

The Scrivener's Tale: Custodial Refurbishment
Failed the craft on purpose and we get the Blessed runestone back without problem.
(need to say: gaaaaah, the hearts! I much prefer to be a gangrene! *evil grin*)

The Scrivener's Tale: The Reach of the Ivy
Recipe now uses the 3 vials of sap on top of the 3 pottery fragments but there's still no way to get them back if you fail the craft.
And yay! You managed to give him a book above his head!

The Scrivener's Tale: Followup Friendships
Quest feathers next to the mob names are a great help for that one, thanks.

The Scrivener's Tale: Copper for a Tale
In the recipe for Indestructible Cookies, there's twice "wandervine fruits" in the build components, one time 2 fruits and once 6 fruits.

I tend to like the (/cry) in quest helper. I often don't think about emotes during quests.

So that we can test the 3 new recipe books ("Divine Weapons of Ro", "Divine Weapons of Sky" and "Divine Weapons of Rathe", rewards for the quests Difficulties Delivering, Custodial Refurbishment and Back to the Library. Shhh! )

Quest: The Scrivener's Tale
Step: Speak directly to the Scrivener

(1) The Scrivener has a quest book over his head, but no book is showing on the map, and it should.

(2) I went through the dialog. Ghida's speech at the very end flashed on-screen but didn't wait for me to click it before it disappeared. I can of course read what she said via the chat window, but the dialog shouldn't be closing itself that way.
