I think this is a great idea, just have a few questions:

Is this 15k for specific game, or just total?By regularly scheduled update, do you mean GU's or are hotfix updates included in this? Are the totals for Facebook and Twitter combined or do we need 15k of each?If I play all three games, do I get the 250 station cash for each game as they reach the goal, or is it once only?EQ2 already has 6k Facebook fans.  So when does that happen?

Thanks for any answers, and thanks for the event!

Each specific game has its own goals.

I believe updates means Game Updates.

The totals are individual, but both sites need to reach the number at each tier to get prizes. For example, EQII actually has over 6000 Facebook fans right now, but less than 1500 Twitter followers. The first tier of prizes (5000) will be given out when BOTH Twitter and Facebook have at least 5000. Then when they both have 10000 fans, we'll all get the next tier of prizes.

If you play more than one of the included games, you will accumulate prizes for each one that you have an account for when they reach their goals.

I hope that helps. SMILEY Be sure to watch the gauges on the Facebook pages to see our progress!

Thank you for the quick reply.  You've successfully countered Preya's questions!  Now I understand why it's a 3 month long event.  Also, we(meaning EQ2 players) won't see anything until February, even if we hit all 15k on both in the next month or so?  Would it be possible to find out for sure?  Cause that would be past the end of the event(assuming next GU is on the 16th, the day of the early start for Sentinal's Fate).  On that note, lets go people!  There are far more than 15k people who play this game.  And there are far more than 15k who know what Twitter and Facebook are.  And I'm certain that there are far more than 15k who at least have a Facebook page.  So, just sign up for Twitter and follow! Thanks again, Amnerys!

Indeed.  That or the whole Cherry Home set.  OMG, I want that, [Removed for Content].  I've been waiting for a whole set, but can't afford it at this time(holidays and all).  But this should put me over the top.

An interesting idea for a promotion, although even the promise of a cape that summons pie (or is made of pie??) won't lure me into the world of F and T SMILEY.  But I do have to wonder, though, how much those sites are making off of companies and celebrities who are running these sorts of things.

I've already been following the official EQ/EQ2 accounts as well as a few SoE staff on Twitter, but I didn't know there were FB fan pages. Very cool to see you guys embracing social networking (more than you already were I mean), and getting free stuff doesn't hurt either. To those without Facebook or Twitter accounts...try it, you might like it. I spent about 15 minutes trying to register for twitter. I was pounding the register button, but the page wouldn't update or anything. Finally I went over to facebook, and they told me that my email address was already registered; but when I asked them to send me my password, they never did. Eventually I gave up and said screw the whole thing. 1 person never made a difference anyway =/

I'm all for anything that exposes more people to EQ2 and grows the playerbase. That can only be good for us.

I think it kind of sucks that if Facebook gets 15,000 fans, but Twitter never gets past 5k, the 15,000 people who became a fan on Facebook will get nothng. I made a Twitter account just for this, I haven't even been back, so I did my part, but I still think its pretty unfair to not reward the FB people because Twitter followers didn't step up.

Does "everyone" mean "everyone"?  Barren Sky / Harla Dar / The Nexus servers hasn't access to SC, but sure welcome at least in-house/fluff items.

Based on current standings, it would appear that only Free Realms has a snowballs chance in hell of earning the lowest grade of prize/reward?lol.

Could we get a confirmation from anyone at SOE that the rewards (if any goal is reached) will be given to the international players too?

The servers that we support, the US and EU/Japanese servers will all receive the awards as they all have marketplace enabled.  Everyone on the servers will receive the awards, not just people who followed us on Facebook.

The RU servers are not included in this as they do not have marketplace enabled.

This promition began on Dec 10th, 2009.  It ends on Feb 10th, 2010.  The half way mark has already been and gone. Are these indicators accurate? (linked from station.com)

Looks correct to me.  The problem is that SoE is requiring that both Facebook and Twitter get the 5k, 10k, 15k followers.  If you follow the links through to Facebook and Twitter you will find that there are plenty of people following the games on Facebook but not on Twitter.  When I am writing this message there were only 1,924 people following EQ2 on twitter and a lot less then that for EQ.  Unless the requirements for twitter are changed there is no chance of EQ or EQ2 making it even to 5k.  Only game that has a chance and I suspect might make it to 5k is FreeRealms.

The twitter requirement has actually been dropped.  There should be an announcement about this coming very soon.
