Something that improves our characters but costs thousands of platinum.

- Mounts. (with stats)

- White Adornments. (effects)

- Effects that can be added to characters. (More effects)

- Anything. (please sink the plat!)

maybe something that costs 1000p and 10million status?

We have a plat sink.  It's called SLR.

Look Tala, just cuz you got a toon of plat from selling SC, don't think all of us do :p

SLR is selling loot rights, it how people sell no-trade/heirloom items from raid zones or fabled items from heroic zones.

havent played for 7 yrs; however agree with the rest.  i might be able to cough up a two hundred plat.  dont sink mine, either.

SLR is not a plat sink.  its a plat transfer.

the problem seems to stem from raiders being uber rich.  maybe find a way to make it so they make less plat in their raids.

How about you take all the plat from the guys rich enough to think we need a plat sink and divide it out amongst all the players with the least amount of plat?

Um, a good mount that costs 1000p and several hundred points of status would be a good idea.

All of the richest people I know are tradeskillers.  Some of them have more than they could ever spend.

If you really feel you have too much plat:

A)  Pay your guild's rent with all of it

B)  Stroll through the Noob Areas and give your plat away.

C)  Destroy it and you won't have to see it sitting in your bank/inventory anymore.

A good idea would be to add merchants that sell SC items for plat at a ratio of 100sc:10p; this would get rid of tons of plat yet not harm those who do not have much to spend.

Edit: Spelling.

Not neccissarily and being able to use a npc rather than a player is easier and more trustworthy.

I guess, but then SOE wouldn't make money off people buying SC, so nobody would do it.

They would still make money, just not as much.  And yes, I agree that they would never do it.

That's not a plat sink.

Plat sink involves taking money out of the economy, not redistributing it like SLR does.

You'd be paying a vendor several hundred to a few grand worth of plat for an item, rather than paying a raid that then splits the plat with the raid.

It's been easy to make plat since day one.

Just gotta know how to do it.

Sitting on about 1500 myself and I don't raid.

Station Cash items directly for in game currency? I have a hard time believing that will ever happen...especially if that would mean people could buy expansions for plat. (without going through a 3rd party)

I don't profit from SLR and I don't spend on SLR. Plat is easy to get...and there isn't an effective sink at this time.  I'm not saying everyone needs to be stripped of their plat...but there should be some way of regularly taking money out of the game.

Mounts might actually be a good option to explore on this point. Raid mounts at the top, expensive plat mounts next, station cash mounts third, then the rest...(Or just dump the whole SC idea...

Reforging, the new tradeskill apprentices and mercenaries will likely be plat sinks, though not necessarily big enough to dent what is in the game.
