There are several ways to do this. The most clearcut examples:

1) Add Tier 9 gear (not necessarily MC) from questing/raiding in new area. This gear is dependent on completing content in T8 zones to attain (AKA for the questing/group gear, you should at least have finished the group content in TSMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />.

2) Add a new branch of AAs, possibly a new tab, ideally a new AA system with more customizable possibilities.

3) Add a parallel progression to attain Tier 9 gear - getting points/money/status with a different organization by finishing instanced dungeon tasks. Instanced dungeons are available for all players lvls 10-80 (for those who did not play EQLive, this is what they did with LDoN and it worked very well).

4) Include some kind of similar alternate progress module such as the shroud system in EQLive - but no monster missions for the love of pete.

These are some possibilities in that "concrete" area. They come from systems that were in place in EQLive, so if they don't seem concrete to you, feel free to research them to find out more about what people are getting at.

To the OP: the only thing that would make me happier than no level cap increase with alternative progress instead, would be an underworld/underwater expansion. To see Kedge Keep again...ooh, that would be da BOMB!

Still would lead to trivilization of previous expansion content also your making a gated expansion that would discourage casuals EQ1 did this and they lost massive numbers, so that ain't happening.

2) Add a new branch of AAs, possibly a new tab, ideally a new AA system with more customizable possibilities.  see above, trivilizes old world content can lead to gated content.

3) Add a parallel progression to attain Tier 9 gear - getting points/money/status with a different organization by finishing instanced dungeon tasks. 4) Include some kind of similar alternate progress module such as the shroud system in EQLive - but no monster missions for the love of pete.  fluff. about all I can say on this not expansion worthy by itself.

yeah...

Do you know what i want to see at some point?

Puzzle Like Instances, and instances where you combine heroic encounters and solo encounter, lets see, something like

You zone to X instance with group.

Everyone start of different position,

Everyone fight their way to a point they get to group.

Everyone fight heroics to a certain point, then a puzzle like door ahead. 5 trails, each trail has a specific thing to do to open the locked door. Go on, next step etc etc etc....

Just not a bunch of instances/zones that starts at A and finish at Z. Like want more interaction with the world and with the people i play.... Only bad part is the idiotic people....

I know...., iam dreaming of a perfect world, that will never happend....

How about no level cap raise... but...An expansion for T8 content only. More solo, group, raid stuff to do, more crafting, more everything... maybe some kind of new AA mechanic/tree, other new/original/inventive stuff.Bringing mid tier content up to par and revamping old stuff and fixing things and the skeleton system is all fine and good, but honestly that stuff needs to be getting done regularly in game updates, not as part of expansion development time.

It's getting to be about that time of year... has no one bothered to find out the copywrited title of the new expansion, or is SoE just getting sneakier and keeping that hidden?I wanna know!

Rise of Kunark was on the trademark database 15 Feb 07, and EoF listed March 06, so does appear they are perhaps waiting a bit this year SMILEY

I would not mind seeing a slight increase to 85th, and a new tree of AAs (enhanced racial bonuses perhaps, or perhaps some additional abilities like leap, etc...), and an increase of AAs to 200.

Weapon quests are getting pretty redundant.  How about a new series of armor quests?  The Thuuga questline in KP was pretty nice.  I am sure people would quest away for a way to upgrade their armor to almost raid loot level, and this could provide many an upgrade to make the casual player feel some sort of accomplishment =)

A new neutral class that can start in either good or evil zones would not hurt (I am tired of leveling the same old same).

Revamp to the starting cities for FP & Qeynos (The Isles leave a lot to be desired now with TD).

Someone brought up a LDoN addition, and I think it would be great.  Would be nice to have dungeons adjusted to the level of difficulty you desire (Normal, Hard & Elite); with loot adjusted to that choice (Better loot in harder instances).  The fact that these dungeons would be level adjusted to the groups level would make it fun for all tiers.

Underwater zones would be great.  Even an adventure pack to return Kedge Keep to the game with new additions would be a positive move forward.

Spell Questlines..  A spell quest to give each class 1 new spell that upgrades with level.

Upgrades to the deity questlines (some of them are a joke and need help).

I like the eq1 nostolgic re-introduction of zones. Some of us that played eq1 enjoy it, and as mentioned prior it is still a new zone so new players can share some of what they missed that made eq1 a great game.  For the expansions I would like to see introduced:

SoV - (Shards of Growth & Mischief!), Tower of Frozen Shadows, Kael, Skyfire, Icewell, Siren's Grotto, Cobalt Scar, etc...  This expansion was huge in eq1 and am sure it would do great in eq2.

/my 2 cents

I'm up for anything in terms of the level cap because to be honest, it adds almost nothing to the game.  Maybe a spell or 2+upgrades, but that's it.  What's the difference between the being level 80 and 90?  Only numbers really.  It also takes nothing away so I'm up for whatever.New AA lines are cool by me.As far as content.  Whether it is new or nostalgic, it's still all new.  As long as I get a good experience with gameplay/lore/content I'll be happy.  Oh, and some better tuning on PvP. SMILEYThen again, I have low standards.drago.

levels provide a sense of accomplishment, which is why all major MMOs use a level/xp based system.  I would be fine with an expansion that didn't raise the level cap, as I still have plenty of alts to work on, but I got kind of bored with my main, so I would like to see something that he can do.  imo, we can pretty much rule out a LDoN type expansion.http://eq2.stratics.com/php-bin/sho...p?content=27277According to that, the next expansion is going to be very story driven.  Since a LDoN type of expansion is based on randomized dungeons, and hack and slash one dungeon right after the next, I find that it would be hard to make that kind of expansion story driven.
