Hotbar real estate is already at a premium before applying 4 Ascension classes spells (even one class at a time). Devs can you please raise the hotbar limit? Thanks.

Or make a separate area for the ascension skills, such as the beastmaster has for some skills.

Channler also has a separate bar for the conduits; if there's enough trouble with hotbars maybe something like that can work? How many skills does and ascension class have anyway?

I would love to see 2 more hot bars available or add 2 slots to every currently existing hot bar.

Cheesenabber- to answer your question, I believe that the ascension class has a total of 11 spells/abilities. 1 for each level up to level nine and 2 at level ten.

A hot bar only has ten(?) slot, so I think that a separate bar (similar to channlers and beastlords) would work for the ascension abilities.

I wish we had the option of setting each button as a flyaway menu. For example, I might have a hotbar full of emotes for RP purposes, but instead of having to use an entire hotbar, I can make one button for emotes and when I click the button, a menu of my chosen emotes pops up and I can choose the one I want. Obviously for immediate use combat spells, we'd want to use a single button for each, but for things like emotes, pets, occasional buffs, etc. a flyaway menu would allow us to still have them readily available, but not take up so many hotbar buttons.

One thing I'm not really fond of is how much of our UI is taken up by hotbars and windows, so anything that can make the UI more minimal and preserve screen space would be wonderful!

Going to have to re-evaluate my setup as well....

While i can get away with macroing the CAs on my tank, I definitely do not do that on my main (Warlock). No idea where these new spells are gonna go...

i just got the adventurer sig today to unlock to help test. it doesn't have a separate hot bar like my bst and channeler i'm taking it??
i might have to go with above OP on this or separate like the two i play (since i'm already use to playing with separate hot bars).

this can be done... just save you adventuring hotbars to say adventure then your emotes and other hotbars to say emotes

just make a macro that loads the other one so you can switch between the 2

i.e. when you have your adventuring setup type
/savehotkeys adventure
when you have your other setup type
/savehotkeys emotes

then make 2 macros one that says
/loadhotkeys adventure
and put this in your emote hotbar set up so you can switch back then make one that says
/loadhotkeys emote
and put this in your adventure hotbars somewhere so you can switch

this is also a good idea for the 4 ascension classes save one set up for each type

I do like the idea of having each Ascension class spells replace themselves on the hotbar(s) when you swap. Kind of like a Beastlord going into Spiritual Stance, it just replaces each ability in the hotbar.

There really should be an 'ascension class' hotbar.

Saving and loading hotkeys 'works' but its extremely clumsy and not at all intuitive. Even if you can manage it as soon as you have two or more 'regular' class specs you are now multiplying that by 4.
So if I have an ST spec and an AE spec I need to have 4 AE specs for each ascension class and 4 ST specs. 2*4. If you have more than that, say an AE DPS and AE defensive/tank it just gets worse and worse. Then there is RPing as people mentioned.

I mean we just have too much stuff to click, I am REALLY hoping the class balance stuff includes merging a lot of outdated or redundant abilities. If no plans are being made to aggressively reduce the amount of activated abilities or adding hotbar management there really needs to be a HARD stop in adding activated abilities from now on.

Being required to swap out different sets of hotbars for everything would be a disaster. Just because it's possible in some sense doesn't mean that it works efficiently or well, especially when it's so easy to fumble the swap and suddenly be emoting hugs to the fathomlurker instead of rooting it. People don't just roleplay standing around in inns, but also when out and about in the world accomplishing many things, so having to swap in a "RP hotbar set" every few seconds in-between combat or crafting would be extremely clumsy.

We NEED some sort of consolidation of all these clicky abilities so that we can actually see the screen rather than having it covered up by 293874397 hotbars and other things. I'm a big fan of minimalism when it comes to cluttered UI, and while I do appreciate the ability to customize what we have, it's still just too much.

omg please please please make this a separate hotbar (auto-switched by Ascension form). without it the focal feature of this xpac is gonna be a total pain instead of fun new mechanic.

and ADDDITIONALLY add an SC option to unlock more normal hotbars, on top of current 10. like merc slots

Please add a separate hot bar (auto switched by Ascension form). My only plan was to clear out my buff hot bar so I could use that for the ascension classes, and now it turns out that some of the new encounters are continually removing our buffs, so I have to keep those visible to know when to recast them.

Technically, you only have one hot bar with 120 buttons (as 10 pages of 12 buttons), so we need more pages Tongue

yeah everyone is different in how they play their classes. some might be comfortable using macros on their DPS/heals and prefer to do it entirely by hand on their tank.

i hope they do add at least a couple more hotbars for us to use.

EQ2 needs a serious consolidation of abilities and clickies.

I'm currently running 8 hotbars on my SK without the new abilities:

I have about 2 hotbars of single target damage abilities. Many of them aren't even worth casting Many of them have riders of some sort (i.e debuff's target's mit, etc.), but most of them are obsolete and the only thing that differentiates most of my single target damage abilities is the damage value. These could all be consolidated into a few abilities with shorter cooldowns, for the same overall damage output.

More than a hotbar of until-canceled buffs. There's no reason these couldn't all be consolidated into 3 abilities - my epic buffs, stances (if I had more than one viable stance) and all my other until-canceled buffs

A whole hotbar of temp buffs. These could definitely be consolidated as well. All the buffs need an optimization pass at the same time. Seriously, my SK still has a self buff for ******* INTELLIGENCE.

Most of a hotbar of green and blue abilities. Like my single target abilities, most of them have no meaningful distinction.

And 2 hotbars of clickies and macros for game functions like spending deity points, many of which wouldn't be necessary with some basic UI improvements.
