But damage reductions work. So if we make AoE blockers into Damage Reductions, at least they will become a useful ability again since AoEs are close to being extinct in this game.

Right. Its a mechanic that is essentially an AOE without the limitations of an AOE. Much the same way "no beneficial spells" is a control effect without the limitation of a control effect. Basically it is a designed with the sole intent to circumvent previously given abilities.

Gninja I have a question. Is there any point to wearing resist war runes like Astral Dominion in raids anymore? That's not sarcasm or anything, I'm really curious. If these aoe's are unavoidable then it stands to reason the stun, stifle, fear, etc war runes are not doing anything right?

How does that statement make any sense?

Just because an AoE is Unavoidable, doesn't mean you can't wear runes to mitigation stun/stifle aspects to it.

The problem with AoE avoids was they stopped ALL parts of the AoE. Damage, DoTs, Effects.

You're making a lot of assumptions. I have a reason for asking the question. Please let Gninja answer before critiquing question.

The only dumb question is the one not asked.

You're asking that question to see if they will effectively neuter other classes abilities (even more).

Adding 5% DR on AE blocks is actually a really sweet idea. Heck make them stackable among classes. It brings back the utility, doesn't make it overpowered and gives druids specifically a nice boost. This also makes all those abilities that used to be amazing useful again (Advanced warning, tortoise shell, turn strike, blade dance, holy shield, got your back etc). All of these AAs are essentially useless since AoM. Giving them a minor bump of 5% DR restores value and gives you a reason to take them again.
