![]() So I choose a small sampling of all mage gear. I had 46 items to salvage. The raws that came from the items made sense, ie roots off of cloth armor. Here is the breakdown of what I ended up with: 134 - Iridium clusters102 - Mantoppie roots20 - Amethyst20 - Thick Bear Pelts40 - Rhenium ore40 - Swamp Ash Lumber11 - Osmosium1 - Metallic Reptile Hide10 - Banyan Roots2 - Tungsten Ore 46 Salvage attempts, 22 ended up in regular harvests (48%) and 24 ended up in rares (52%). On the regular harvests I received anywhere between 2-20 harvests. Received 2 harvests 3 times (14%), received 5 twice (9%) and received 20 items 17 times (77%). While I appreciate all the extra rares, I am wondering if this needs to be toned down a bit.

![]() I salvaged 2 fabled raid jewelry pieces. One gave me an osmium, one gave me a black star sapphire. Has anyone figured out the logic behind this tradeskill yet? Gonna work on that a bit tonight. |

![]() I'm not sure. The logic is probably that, as you know a lot about tradeskilling, you're obviously able to spot bits and pieces that could be salvaged from you equipement instead of trashing him. Legendaries seem to have a 50/50 to give 1 rare or 20 raws. It seems I get rare roots out of mage gear, osmium out of jewelry. I never had 2, 3 or 5 raws at a time so those are probably tied to breaking treasured. My guess would be that fabled always give rares. So basically, break you stuff down for a chance at a rare. Trying to get manas seems way more interesting for me as a whole, so I think most people will still prefer to transmute stuff. |

![]() Slot type - rare salvage at level 92 finger, ear, wrist, charm, neck - osmium cloak - banyan root waist - pelt plate armor - tungsten Seems to make sense, the rare you would use to craft the tradeskilled version of the item is the rare you get back. Not sure what the ratios are, but you either get 5-20 of the nonrare harvestables or 1 rare for legendary items. Fabled items give either 1 or 2 rares. |

From these numbers, my own experience on beta, and the other posts on this thread it seems there is a clear favoring of Osmium being the salvage product on jewelry pieces. This will create a clear imbalance in the availability of spell rares just like we had at the beginning of last xpac (due to a harvesting bug and Black Star Sapphires were dropping 10/1 as compared to Osmium). Those that use Osmium as their expert spell component will have a clear advantage. Is this intended?

![]() Did you notice a difference if you salvaged priest/mage jewelry vs. scout/fighter? Just curious... |

![]() Ok, I logged hubby char and broke down his bank (poor guy!). Here is what I found: Numbers of items
What item gives what :
Possible bugs:
Yeah, ok, the old live event shadowed armor seems hopelessly bugged. being T1 stuff and unavailable in game, it's no biggie though. A bunch of other T1 stuff seems to give weird results too. Ok, I'm starting to wonder if the chain armors are not supposed to give loams, but if that's the case, I got a massive amount of chain armors giving hard metal. And not always the same slots. Greaves of one set would give metal while greaves on another set would give loam. Is it supposed to be random or is there some bugs hiding there? |
