From what I've seen some of the solo gear is better than mastercrafted other than the resolve, don't remember which pieces but a few of them are.

The crafted stuff unless it was changed last nite is not "better" per se. Yes some of the stats (cb, pot) are but look at the base mitigation. It is A LOT lower then heroic lvl ToT gear. So it would seem to me running the test as Caith stated would be an excellent test for the vast majority. Oh and if you ask a scout or are a scout you can see there is no resolve on the solo and the resolve is 1 in the adv solo. I.E. resolve is a complete non-issue.

I can say for certainty that Kaesora:Xalgozian Stronghold (Solo) isn't too hard. I took a freshly beta buffed dirge with the default solo aas and beta buff gear and soloed it and rarely came close to dying(Only time I did was when I accidentally pulled 8 sarnak ghosts near the end). So theres definitely some solo instances that aren't too hard. Haven't tried lost city of torsis yet, but in my experience those solo instances have always been the hardest for some reason(Mobs have usually been hitting harder in them since the beginning)as well as being the buggies solo instances(They've had more bugs with mobs since the beginning, not the least of which is the cube nameds doing huge dmg with their AOEs). I'll probably try running him through some other solo instances as well, but I can safely say that the average person could do some of these solo instances without trouble.

Yeah I just finished that one. Had off today so my plan was to do all the solo and advance solo zones, I've been having a really good time so far.

If you mean the pieces that unlock the boss mob pits.. Try looking around. You might find stuff laying around (HINT)

People with under 5k potency complaining... seriously... please make the zones more difficult!

These are the zones are the the start of the gear progression. They need to be doable to fresh characters. If you're in raid gear with ethereal runes, go do the advanced solos. Or group up and do the heroics. Don't turn the entry level instances into something that an entry level character can't do.

Not to mention that it's kind of difficult to get over 5K potency if you've *only* been doing solo zones, even if you aren't a freshly boosted player. I've been doing the TOT advanced solo dailies and although I'm getting a bit of an upgrade here or there, it's not really boosting my potency much anymore. Getting more deity points will help a bit, but it takes time. The mushroom vendor will probably also help a bit once enough coins are collected, but again those take a lot of coins, status, and platinum, so again time that a fresh player or alt wouldn't necessarily have.

Obviously doing the group instances would be a bigger boost, but these KA solo zones are obviously part of the *solo* progression, so it should not be mandatory to have to spend time grouping or raiding in order to be able to do them. 5K potency is not typical at all pre-KA for a solo-only character.

hitting 5k potency is ridiculously easy. trivial ToT heroic/collection gear can get you past that. that being said, if you expect to go into a zone that is meant for you to have X amount of stat, and you have 1/2X stat, don't be surprised when you can't complete it. Thats like saying "my raid isn't meeting resolve checks for content that is meant for 4 groups because we only have 3 groups! Cater to our whiny needs and make everything trivial!"

Its actually better than ToT raid gear, for the most part. But basically this. Get this gear. Adorn your character. Reforge your character. I guarantee you will have absolutely no issue completing KA solo zones*.

*(not accounting for the exceptionally bad)

The point I made was that the solo zones are part of the solo progression. Of course 5K potency might be easy (or at least easier) to get in the heroic zones. However, players should not need to set even one foot in a heroic zone in order to do solo content.

And yet here you are informing us all how easy it is if we just do heroic zones.

Now maybe you do have some point about getting mastercrafted equipment, but a player should be able to complete the solo signature of TOT and move directly into the solo signature of KA without having to go through any more hoops. People don't want to come into the game and have to spend hours trying to get equipment crafted and adorned and all that. They want to come in the game and start playing and finding equipment upgrades while they are playing and questing. Also a newly boosted 100 should be able to move directly into the solo signature using the equipment that came from their boost crate. That's smooth progression.

And they're not going to typically have 5K potency. Not even close.

One thing I'm curious about: the instances currently have the Beta Bolster automatically active when you enter. Will that be disabled sometime soon so people get a feel for how the zones will truly be on Live? (It can be manually disabled, but it would make sense to disable it entirely to get a better feel for how the zones will be in the gear we have.)

I've been disabling it as soon as I go in a beta zone. And it would be a good idea if they got rid of it in the last week or so.

Yeah I've been disabling it when I go in as well. Originally it was easier when I had it disabled. Haven't been trying the zones lately though. I was gonna do a run through all the solos again prolly on the weekend with all the tuning thats been done and see how they are now.

I feel like they should have beta bolster gone by now, since we're nearing the end of the beta and its a good idea to see how the difficulty is when you don't have the beta bolster.

I hope the devs aren't gonna use the beta bolster when they run through it themselves to test it.

Side note, when I ran through Xalgozian Stronghold earlier to test it with a beta buffed dirge I realized after I posted about how it was for me that I forgot to cancel the beta bolster, so I'll probably run it again to get correct feedback from it.

Probably a good idea. Would love to see what you think. I've only been playing my wizzy in beta as I'm not overly fond of playing the mystic early in xpacs cause it always feels slow.
