Mystic Forms

Ok got the bear and hawk form and use bear since it actually helps. Is there any other forms we will get in higher levels?

I believe the only form Mystics get that grants some sort of bonus is bear form. The others (hawk, beaver, serpent) are illusion only.

It's called "Form of the Builder" and it's a level 30 spell you purchase (for 57 silver) in Qeynos Harbor.

Yes bear form currently stacks with the illusory image line. Whichever one you cast first will be the one you stay in unless it wears off or is debuffed, at which point you will appear as the second illusion you cast.

They are no faction adjustments for any form.

Is there ant way to keep the stat boost and turn off the bear image. I hate the thought of spending my whole life looking like a big dumb bear. So far its my biggest regret of being a shaman.

You can turn off the bear image but you require another illusion. You cast the illusion you want to be first and then bear form. I presume racial illusions will also work this way, but they currently aren't functioning yet.

being a bear is as dumb as being a hawk or a beaver...

when being "normal" my mystic is really fun. spells look cool, char looks cool...everything is cool.

i am really tired of being a bear or some other animal all the time...u dont seriously fight without being a bear...

cant sony change that? maybe offer some illusion spell to look normal again and still get the bear advantage...

why do we create chars incl. nose, ears, hair and all that stuff and collect cool looking weapons when they are not visible while fighting..

As I have only been a mystic for about 20 minutes, and already hate looking like a bear (and don't want to look like any other animal either, besides myself....)

Can we cast an illusion (such as hawk), and the cast bear (to get the bonus), and then cancel hawk but keep the stat bonus of bear to look normal? Or will this make me look like a fat, ugly, bear?

i fully agree with you. i loved my shaman all the way. but being a bear all the time while fightinh in group or solo made me kinda hate my mystic within 5 minutes...

i saw a paladin yesterday with his horse...looked funny with a teddybear sitting next to him...

the bear is not cool. he is just fat and dumb, looks stupid. collecting armor and weapons and building a nice char was useless because u dont see anything of that...

by the way...the bear is walking under water instead of swimming..

Im glad to here im not the only one who dislikes the animal forms :smileywink:

You can turn off headgear with /showhood which I do.

I hope they add a slash command like /showform that will keep your char looking normal.

I mean I spent a lot of effort getting cool armor and weapons I would like to see them.

I know some people will say ok just dont use the bear form, but that is not fair to the rest of the group as it make my char much stronger.

some people love to run around in the form of the creatures... for some it may have even

been an influence on the character type they chose... but I agree with most that

I love throwing my spear and slapping my tome in the face of a warlock minion without

having my big bear butt or hawk shreek blasting over my speakers every time i attack

where you at devs? this is a pretty good idea people are throwing around here...

Bear form was amusing to use during AQ1 just to confuse my group mates that were looking for the Kodiaks while I was hunting the wolves. Other than that, I'm much too cute to be in bear form. :smileyhappy:

If you don't like the forms, then don't use them. The stats aren't so critical that you can't live without them, but to have the buffs without the form is just a bad idea. In EQ1 I hated running around as a wolf with my druid, so I didn't cast the spell. I lived without the enhancements, you can too.

I like the fact we can shapeshift. I think its nifty. I wish our other forms 'did' something though, so we didnt always have to use bear.

My humble opinion is the same as many others on this. If you don't want to use the bear form as a Mystic you are not forced to use it. If you do want the higher stats then you need to accept the form of a bear. (Unless you cast one of the other illusionary images first.) If people do not like changing form it is well within their rights to play without casting the spell. The bear form is part of the Mystic class and should not be changed just because people want to look nice & cute or sexy or whatever :smileytongue: while they fight. Don't get me wrong...I am a female char in-game and also IRL and I understand being concerned with appearances and looking cute :smileywink: however, I also understand that that is how the class was made and I don't have to take on the bear form when I don't want to. There are 5 other healer classes that you could have chosen from. You need to pick the class that you want to play and not pick a class and then ask for changes to the class when something cosmetic is not your cup of tea.
