![]() Just wondering if a Bard can outrun the fastest mount with all their buffs and AA's? Plus, are there only certain classes that can get a carpet or are all classes eligible. How do you get a carpet? Quest or do you just buy it?

![]() Any class can get a carpet, my dirge has one, but takes pride in the fact he have NEVER activated it. (I know another dirge that sold his j-boots and uses one--I rag his buns about it whenever I get the chance). Its a sinking sands quest is fairly difficult when level appropriate, but gets easier as you get to high 50's and above. Message Edited by Krescendo on 09-08-2006 11:00 AM |

![]() I really wish the carpet, like HQ items (and, yes, I know the carpet isn't an HQ), could be mounted and displayed in your house. It would give me a reason to keep mine.I did activate it -once- only to see what it was like flying around on it. It got shoved in the bank, though, as soon as I went back to town. My wizard still needs to finish her carpet quest, though, but even with her, I'd rather use my boyfriend's troubie speed or get a much prettier horse. |

I sold my boots too but still with selos and harbingers maxed I still run 46% which is fine enough for me. never had to put out for any ridiculously pricey horse that doesnt work everywhere my speed does. did the carpet quest just for the aa and then sold it right away.

![]() I am not sure so don't quote me on this I think the max possible is 96% There is a food that you can get as part of a quest in KoS that gives 40% speed increase for the duration of the food, and it stacks with our speed songs. I was in a group where the ranger in the group used it and left me for dead, when playing train the mobs around SoS when placing vortexes in riddle of the vault. |

Yea, the froag swill which is no-trade and from a collectin stacks. My guildie drank one of these and turned on monkey form while we were cmaping the prophet in SS for An ancient desert Power for someone. We were all laughing ourselves silly at the hyper speed monkey. That's just ridiculously fast!

There are lots of ways both short duration and a little longer duration that get you over 100% If you are talking sustained speed then 56% is the top end with just Bard buffs I have seen.

![]() Which AA line is that gives you run speed? Im at work now so cant log in, and cant seem to find the answer anywhere via the usual channels. Also, must Jboots be worn to get speed bonus, or is it possible to get the speed effect from your inventory slot, like in EQ1? Thanks! Message Edited by Azmodiaz on 09-12-2006 09:26 AM

![]() That would be the WIS AA line. Along with Alegro and Dont kill the Messenger. Both Excellent AA's. The Run speed buff also alters In combat movement speed as well.

![]() The jBoots runspeed effect is not cast like it was in EQ1, it's a permanent passive effect on the boots, and only works when you're wearing them. There are other items with runspeed enhancements similar. They aren't easy to come by.

With above mentioned buffs and Droag Scale Swill from Droag Scale collection iirc, I managed to hit 96% run speed. Kinda nice speed, ran off isles in tt because of lag and [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], lol.

There were two items in the eq2 item database with an adornment called "Spirit of Wind" or similar. That adornment increases move speed. I do not know how these items are obtained, but almost positive they are/were raid drops. =) I have never seen the items personally. =(EDIT:After a bit of hunting I found one. Boots of the Temptress, level 40 leather boots was an example. If you have the eq2 item database, you can follow this link:http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=55304PS, do you know how hard it is to find an item adtabase that lets you search on item adornments? Not easy, let me tell you!
