I have been playing on this particular connection for a long time, raiding on it as far back as the RoK expansion. Lag was fine up untill recently. The lag issues seemed to start with the release of skyshrine.

Essentially, since the launch of skyshrine my ping (even when just sitting in the guild hall) has gone up. Prior to this when just idling in the GH etc my ping would be in the 100 - 120 range. In raid it would be on average 150 - 160 on ocassion get as high as 180 - 190.

Now, my ping is in the 220 - 250 range when just idling in the guild hall and will often jump up into the 280 or 300+ range. In raid it runs about between 260 - 300 and does not normally go above 350.

The puzzling part is that even though the ping is constantly fluctuating in the 260 - 320 range (approx) the lag experianced can be varied. One minute its fine the next its a little laggy then all of a sudden huge lag...which will then clear its self up...all the while ping remains relativly close in range.

It does seem that the more dps ramps up the more lag issues are evident especially on multi mob encounters although i am not even sure about that as it will happen sometimes and not others and the raid dps is pretty much the same most cases. I do wonder if it has something to do with specific procs on mobs/players? I have no idea.

There does not appear to be any video lag and frame rates seem fine.

To make matters even more confusing, it seems to happen more often on my Paladin than my dirge, in fact often times if i am experiancing the lag just switching to my dirge (which is on another account by the way) will make the lag vanish or be substantially reduced. Even though i literally swap the dirge into the same slot in the raid that my paladin occupied.

This connection is a 1 mb connection same one  i have played eq2 on it for ages. I have done all the fairly obvious things like check for trojans and worms and other connections and have used firewall controlls to lock down everything except eq2 to no avail. I have kicked all the clients off the network and used mac filtering to allow only my pc on the network and that made no difference either. When i run speed test i am getting about 0.9 mb at off peak (3 am) and in the range of 0. 7 - 0.8 mb in peak time.

Here is some info from: ipconfig / all , tracert, and path ping

Oh and by the way i have an entry in my hosts file to forward permafrost.everquest2.com to the server ip address for the everfrost server which is what i belive was used after the merger. I tried this after already having had the lag issues for a while...it did seem to reduce the lag slightly but i am still in the 200+ range even when idling.

****ipconfig / all, tracert and path ping posted below as inlcuding them in this msg puts it over the char limit***

Yes sir, we have 2 open tickets for 2 accounts since Oct. 12th. We called SOE today and talked with tech support who informed us that our ticket has been elevated to a higher level within tech support. We have had no response on our open tickets for 5 days now. It would be nice to have regular updates so that we know that someone is addressing the issue.

My husband opened a new ticket yesterday with a summary of everything we have done on our end and with a attached file with our ipconfig, tracerts/pathpings to 4 different game servers.

We also have been in contact with our ISP and from what they are seeing they believe that it would best if SOE would contact them to work this issue out.

Hey man, sorry for the late response. Have they resolved your issue? If they haven't, please pm Sean or myself your ticket reference number so we can look over it!
