From Friday, May 25, 2012 at 12:01 pm (noon) Pacific* through Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11:59 pm Pacific you’ll get an instant rebate for half your Station Cash back when you purchase almost anything** in the EverQuest II Marketplace! Everyone likes having more to spend, and now’s the time to grab that item you’ve had your eye on. As soon as you do, you’ll find 50% of the cost of the item (clearly displayed to you in game) immediately refunded to you… maybe you should look at another item on your wish list!

Jump in game and explore the Marketplace. Whether it’s an Experience Potion or the latest Heritage Armor, it’s now twice the deal it used to be!

*Convert to your local time

** Recurring subscriptions are not eligible for the 50% rebate.

Why are recurring subscriptions not eligible?

lol.

This can be read two ways.

I bet the way you took it is that people with recurring subscriptions don't get the 50% rebate.

I'm sure what was meant is that you do not get a 50% rebate when purchasing a recurring subscription. That is why it says ALMOST every item.

Nice SMILEY

Bought the SC on a triple weekend, use it on a 50% off weekend.

So a $30 item costs actually $5

Hahahahahaha!

Was wondering why no new Marketplace items appeared this week.  Now I see why...

That would be fine if you could actually buy recurring subscriptions with Station Cash on Marketplace, which you cannot; real money needed, so you could not get a SC rebate anyway.  So in fact it can only have one meaning..

But I think you are right, its just badly worded AND very misleading

Well, I have an active recurring subscription and thought I'd test this out - bought a painting for SC (that I wanted anyway hmph) for 300 and yep - it cost me 300.  So then either paintings aren't on the 50% list or I'm not eligible.

I think I'll wait to buy anything else until we get clarification or some other brave soul gives it a try!

The rebeats do not start until Noon today so of course you did not get the rebate.  They do not mean players with recurring subs are not eligible they mean you will not get a rebate on buy a recurring sub.

Oh see what I get for trying to be helpful...

More interesting is the implication that non-recurring subscriptions purchased with SC may be included - potentially a huge bargain for those of us with triple SC balances from the last sale.  It will also be interesting to see if AOD is included.

Server transfers are also NOT included in the 50% off. Would have been nice to see that somewhere.

I would be all over a one year subscription at half price....  I would start playing again instead of not playing (or paying) at all.

Darn it, I was hoping they would be included.  I know a certain ranger that needs one.

Half-price Subs would be a little too much for them to offer, and basically be as close to free as it could be w/o actuallt being free.  I mean seriously @15 a month complaining about the prices is silly.  Then consider a year sub is $120 ($12/mon).  Then consider triple SC on a +500 bonus card (6,000 SC for $15) that makes the anual sub $2.50 per month.....

And NOW you want that to be half-price as well....   I hear Farmville is free, you could go try that.

I wonder how many people looked at the welcome page that said items were 50% off and bought prematurely by mistake.  That page doesn't give a future start time, which implies it's ongoing.

I didn't get caught because I remember another rebate sale where there's a rebate tag that shows up on the item so I looked around to see if there was an issue.  Eventually I saw something here with the complete sale period info.

SOE still has the last laugh. You still paid them $15 for a card (or however you bought your SC). That's the gimmick here. How ever they twist these "sales", they're still getting your $15. Until you can walk into a store and buy a $15 card for $7.50, they win.

Anyways, I don't suppose character slots are going to be included in this rebate?

Probably people that fail at reading ... In the news business we call that a 'Hook' and the 'page' as you say was a link that could be followed for full details.  Headlines are made to generate interest and awareness for example:

A man just got home from his brothers wedding and sees on the news; "New bride shoots Groom and twelve others" and that man immediately charges out of the house for the hospital to see if his brother is ok, later to find out that the news even happened in the neighboring county, last week...

SOE: Nearly everything on Sales 50% Off, Limited Time Only, HURRY!! ... sales starts tomorrow.

Yep. Im just saying its a great deal; my budget is a modest 4k SC. I am getting:

3 months gold ~4k, ~2k back

DoV standard ~2k, ~1k back.

Tenebrous Island when we get that free 500 from the FB quest, in addition to my leftover 1k.

I talked to someone from support, they said the non-recurring are good to go. I repeat, a SOE employee checked for me and told me that the non-recurring subs ARE INCLUDED. Have fun!

Well ... with my banked triple cash on a half price sale that is a 12 month sub for $1.25 per month... sounds more like a Fire Sale.

I see the reading comprehension fail now. This has happened in other sites as well. While the promo doesn't say Purchases from recurring subscriptions are not eligible for the 50% rebate, it really should say Purchases of ... Which would have proved more helpful.

If I already purchased a 3 month gold non-reacurring, and that would expire in about 6 weeks.

If I purchase another 3 month -or- 6month. Would that start from the date my current sub expires?
