Otherwise known as 'Quickpaw's latest folly'  Also the 'Place where Misty Red Tiles go to die'...

It all started with a chessboard...

I think I created the board a *year* ago...simply for the sake of doing so.

Gradually the place transformed, into something more and more temple-like...I about believe it got possessed by Bristlebane, turning an unassuming house into a fiery lava-temple.

There is an actual temple here, even if the entrance is...a bit startling.

A view of the ceiling:

Back on the main floor...while the Bristlebane 'brand' is, let's face it, everywhere:

Like any self-respecting temple would fail to promote itself? Plus, this IS the god of, among other things (mischief, practical jokes...), hedonism. So...why not a spot for appreciating the male and/or female form?

Some might argue the point of course. Lounge about on the pillows, or just enjoy a few drinks...or lounge about on the pillows and enjoy a few drinks...

Worship does take various forms after all.

Lastly...if visitors to the temple don't lose their money through donations, or give them to the mens and wimmens...

(I admit it, I'm proud of this place.) If any deity would be in favor of a casino inside the temple walls, I think Bristlebane would.

In closing, come on through the fiery door--

...to what may possibly be the craziest temple ever  Management not responsible for burns, lost wallets, lost sanity... Freeport server, large homes, the Bristlebane Temple, Casino, Strip Club. Yeah, I know, couldn't fit an 'and' in there.

The place is possessed by Bristlebane, it really is--three seconds in, and the subject line gets screwed up...

Thanks again to Raferty of Unrest server, for lovely ideas for finishing this place that I was glad to steal!

Thanks! I've had a few requests from people to teach 'em how to do that...I'm thinking of creating a 'how to' for it, with screenshots. Maybe after the present city festival.

My favorite room is the casino room.   Very cool!

Edit:  I love the effects in person.   The ceiling in the center room in particular is fantastic.

Yeah, I'm still considering trying to do a video on YouTube...only thing about the still photos you get with screenshots, you can't tell how much is moving in there. The fires are flickering, smoke's rising up from them, the fiery tapestries (what was it, Tapestry of Flame? I forget) shimmer, the 'lava' is coursing down the walls...I took great pains with those to make sure it looked like lava was coming down from above (only misty red tiles over either redwood tiles and dividers or red marble tiles, but I wanted as much of a 'lava' effect as I could get) and pooling in the center. It's so much movement I was worried at first that folks would port in, and it'd take ten minutes for the place to load on their screen.

One reason, I confess, people port in and see the backside of a flame tapestry directly in front of them, give the room time to load up...well, in addition to getting the 'grand reveal' when they push past it into the room SMILEY Can't miss a trick there.

And yeah, the casino's my favorite too, as well as the one I taught myself new techniques with, getting that inlaid floor done. It was a trial-and-error dance of creating an octagon with the circle tool, redoing it, re-redoing it, took forever. I honestly think it took longer to get that floor put together in a way I was satisfied with, than it did to make the triple-dome in the main room! <--yes, triple dome, it's actually three domes in one. One dome done in redwood, one dome in misty red tiles just *slightly* inward and downward from the rest so the 'fire' shows up, and a third...think it was Sullonite paving stones, was the tile I used...at, believe it or not, a 22.5 rotation from the rest. I was originally going to have that third set so where it intersected with the other two domes there'd be just a narrow band, like the 'lava' was framed by narrow strips of stone, but the two-tone effect looked so good to me I left it as it was SMILEY

Wow!  Really nice.  I'm sure you're right, Bristlebane would love the place.  Lots of great visuals here, including that very nice design on the wall in the pillow room.  Fantastic job!

Whew, somebody liked that SMILEY That was design number 7 of the ones I tried to make I think. The wall just needed something back there! So much going on everywhere else, a blank wall (or at least a divider turned upside down, all that wall really is) kinda offended me. Making a vertical design using tiles is persnickety as hell, the game really doesn't like you to turn objects sideways sometimes, but when it works...

A video would be great, the movement is so important in many designs and yours is one that it makes a difference in.  I loved the lava effects and the tapestry of flame doors look incredible.   I had no idea they would look that gorgeous in person.

Credit where credit's due and stuff SMILEY I'm a firm believer now in getting other opinions, just can't see it all when I'm working on a project on my lonesome for too long I guess.

Maybe I'll see about getting a video of the place this weekend...gimme something to do before Tinkerfest starts and I'm in between festivals/New Qeynos quests/whatever else.
