Welcome to raiding in Chaos Descending! There are a good number of changes to how raids work for our 15th expansion. I will list out as much as I can, if you have further questions feel free to ask them here!

1. Bosses
There are over 30 unique bosses in Chaos Descending. This is NOT counting the Mythic versions.

2. Normal versus Mythic Zones
Each zone (with few exception) will have a normal version and a mythic version. Mythic versions are not "Challenge Modes" though they are more difficult than the normal version. For example a challenge version of the first boss in the easiest zone will not be more difficult than a later tier normal boss. Loot will drop accordingly. The first challenge boss will likely not have better loot than a later tier normal encounter. It is encouraged for folks to do both regardless of skill level. Mythic zones are a separate zone completely from the normal version with its own lockout. This does mean that you can do both.

3. Lockouts
Lockouts are changing fairly significantly with Chaos Descending. Normal versions of zones will have a longer lockout where the mythic versions will have shorter lockouts. The reasoning for this is two-fold… More casual or roleplay style guilds like to work on the zones for longer to get as far as they possibly can before having to reset. The normal version zones are set longer for this reason. The other reason is the more hard core raid forces like to be able to reset zones quickly and rerun them. The mythic zones are set shorter for this reason.

4. Unlocking/Progression
As opposed to last year’s progression unlocking, this year we will be leaving things a lot more accessible. The majority of raid content will be easily unlocked but the later tier 4 encounters will be a little more complicated to unlock. All zones will be setup so that only one player in raid needs to have access in order to zone the entire raid into the zone. Bosses will not punish players fighting in encounters if they do not have the previous encounters defeated. The unlocks will also remain account wide. So when one of your characters unlocks a new raid zone it will unlock for all your characters on that account.

5. Tiers
There are more tiers this go round but mostly just in loot. There are technically 4 tiers but each also has a mythic version with higher requirements for stats etc. The mechanics in general might not be different but they should be a lot more dialed in so timing matters, failure conditions will be more strict, etc.

6. Zones
These zones will be included in Chaos Descending at launch:

- Doomfire: the Molten Caldera [Raid]
- Doomfire: the Molten Caldera [Mythic Raid]
- Eryslai: the Empyrean Steppes [Raid]
- Eryslai: the Empyrean Steppes [Mythic Raid]
- Vegarlson: Upheaval [Raid]
- Vegarlson: Upheaval [Mythic Raid]
- Awuidor: the Adumbral Depths [Contested Raid]
- Aquidor: Reef of Coirnav [Raid]
- Plane of Justice: Scales of Justice [Raid]
- Plane of Justice: Scales of Justice [Mythic Raid]
- Doomfire: the Broken Throne [Raid]
- Doomfire: the Broken Throne [Mythic Raid]
- Eryslai: the Aether Vale [Raid]
- Eryslai: the Aether Vale [Mythic Raid]
- Vegarlson: Sepulcher of the Twelve [Raid]

As questions get asked I will try to keep this post up to date.

Hi Carlos,

1. What are the resolve requirements for the different tiers?
2. And can you give us basic recommendations for HP and resistances according to the tiers?
3. Is there the immunitys on the encounters as in the last addon?

And if so, what are the prerequisites for the corresponding tiers (ability double cast, spell double cast, flurry and so on.)

so:

T1
-
-
-
T1M
-
-
-
T2
-
-
-
T2M
-
-
-
T3
-
-
-
T3M
-
-
-
T4
-
-
-
T4M
-
-
-

If there are immunities again, will this time be adjusted so that you can reach them all?

In the current addon, for example, except for ascension short buffs, the immunity of "ability double cast" can not be achieved in most tiers.

What makes, for example, the crusader effect of ethereal crusader rune, almost useless. After all, what use is a 3.5% ability double cast for the hole raid more, if no one ever comes across the immunity threshold, except through the extremely rare ascension shortbuffs available?

4. Can you give us an oversight, where the stat cap´s, resi cap´s and so on are? Or can you are ask Kyle Kander for this oversight?

What are the expected zone timers for the raid zones?
You mentioned giving the 'regular' zones longer duration then the mythical to make it easier on casual forces. Please consider the flip side as well.. such long timers on easier zones can also make it harder on casual forces.. as they may be forced to call raids.. because all the mobs they can kill have been killed.. and they can't do the easier mobs again. It can also be harder for casual guilds to gear up in such a senario as they tend to have more fluid rosters and actually need more gear, 'per tier', as a consequence.

While I said they would be longer, they are not that long. Previously we would allow for zones to last up to 2 weeks before being forced to reset. We are now setting it at 5 days for normal and 3 days for mythic for all zones regardless of boss count. Like I mentioned before it won't be difficult to unlock more bosses so even the casual folks will have plenty to choose from on a weekly basis.

I will likely spawn stuff to test with but I don't like doing that because I usually get a couple hours of "I didn't want this specific stat! Spawn me another one!"

I will try to get Caith to come drop in and see if he can answer these for you. I can't really give suggested hp and all that quite yet as we have not done the balance pass on them. We usually don't till we at least get one pass on mechanics of the encounters.

So our current gear is completely trash - all replaced with quest gear? At this point no more reason to raid on live for gear?
Or will there be certain gear with 100's of resolve in the quest lines which can be used to cover the huge gap?

1200 resolve for T1, so we will have to replace all our gear with new crafted/heroic to be even able to pull the first mob since we can only hit 830 or so with current BiS

Wait till you can see it in action before jumping to conclusions folks. Plus, its beta. All the things are subject to change.

You're not going to want crafted gear unless it's changed. You'll want instance gear for raids. The potency on master crafted gear is very low at the moment.
But, getting heroic gear to prep for raids isn't really anything new....

I'm making MC Gear now and I think this has been addressed. New MC Gear is 60 Resolve per piece and I have my Ranger near 1300 Resolve wearing mostly MC Armor and Jewelry. Just an FYI.

High resolve.. but every other stat on the gear is worse then the even the quested gear, let alone the solo instance gear. If you have enough resolve, MC gear will never, ever be a better choice then lower resolve gear if the stats don't change. The ONLY thing MC gear has going for it right now, is resolve. And extra resolve is totally worthless.

If you don't have the resolve your gear won't matter.

Thta's no reason to make the best possible crafted gear something you wear only as a last resort because every stat on it, except resolve, is worse than everything you get in the expac except the freebie gear.
