Why do the new scout and mage look identical? Different color, but still SMILEY

And yet again.. such missed opportunities for cool looking pets.  I haven't seen the necro ones yet, but the mage one with the shield on it's face and saggy armor is really not living up to it's potential.

Remember the flaming tree? ...

We take pride in our appearance because we're a "pet-class", we're forced to have it represent us. When we end up focusing our gameplay through a pet that we have to have up all the time, and is essentially a visual extension of ourselves, it gets embarrasing when our pets keep ending up verging on "cute", or "awkward" looking.

I know it's a subjective thing, but honestly already, the overall comments from other conj's I've seen has been "uhg".

Yes you can petamorph your pet.. doesnt last through death, can't use in BGs etc...

Someone suggested giving summoners an ability to capture the illusion of mobs relevant to their class.  Necros can capture undead illusions, conjurors elemental illusions.  Beastlords essentially get this ability in picking and choosing their pets (stats aside).

Every expansion this happens, and the art is often forced to be changed because there seems to be a disconnect between what the players think is a cool looking pet, and what the designers do.  Not sure why.. perhaps more dialogue?

Some of us are designer too.

I'd love to put some suggestions together as would other conjuror's... They can easily be from existing models... but Im imagining its too late in the process, or not quite a priority.  Tell us different and we can find that sweet spot together.

Here's a quick mockup using an existing model... (obviously scale him appropriately).. but this is a little more menacing.. makes you feel a little more powerful, has the cool factor... etc etc...

I'm more focused on pets ability to perform....and I have a few complaints about that

However, I agree with this post, necromancer pets are not that great looking, as a matter of fact, I myself dislike their appearance of looking like Drusila.  I would rather take the old lich model from EQ1 than this model.

i'm also concerned about the pet's performance. but i'm still wanting something that is a little more unique in appearance. again, i've never seen sony do this where they just copy and paste our pet appearance. i remember lvling through tiers thinking "what is my pet going to look like this time?" SMILEY

Yeaahhh.... Conjurors get something cool we get total crap...as usual

Might as well give us a stick with a skull on it and call it a pet, at least it will look better than what we're getting.

Ah Carth,... that's not our pet.. just a mock I did up of what I think our pet could look like with a bit more umph.  Our current one in Beta is a bit lack luster is the general feeling.

The Necro one however is pretty cool actually.. look in the necro forums for a screenshot.. I hear the animation of it is pretty good.

I was on the beta server and looked at them.  They're ugly.

Again, put a skull on a stick and I'll call it a pet

I thought the necro's needed some representation in the forms of "what if" pet art.. so I mocked this one up for them as I'd already done one for us conj's.

or we can just settle for shield face and (what did you call it?) bones on a stick...

soe doesn't care about summoners anymore at all.

I've felt that way for years. I actually quit playing my conj last year after 7 years of him being my main... I was to sick and tired of all the broken spells, AA's, useless scout pet and more... Neglected!!!!

True that is why I wish they would just let us pick from any of the apearances we have access to.  For me it would be the tier 7 mage pet that actually looks like a mage on fire.

I agree with Laks why cant we just use any of the past pet illusions(lower tier pets) as skins for our current pet or let us cast them and they be level whatever we are with same abilities? I personally loved the mythical golem we got with our mythical weapon(the blue giant one) him tagging behind me was pretty awesome I also loved the fire gargoyle pet.

I thought the fire Genie was pretty awesome personally.

Also a mastered out "Aery Hunter V" was sweet lookin, but too bad he is 110% completely and utterly useless...
