I was in a group the last couple of nights doing heritage quests and at one point we sat in TS for almost 3 hours killing place holders tying to get the named to spawn. After about 1 hour most of the group was on auto follow while one or two tanks ran around killing. Then idea popped in my head that it would be great if they put in a small window to let players play Texas Holdem and use money and loot to bet with. They could even decorate the cards with EQ2 Lore and Myth Figure and Gods etc. This would really make them those times when you are sitting around waiting for raids to form, long quests in groups a little more fun to do. They could even give the group leader the option to chose min bets. I shared this idea with the group I was in and they all loved it and told me to go post it. Well just an idea I had I think it would really be cool and help pass the time.  SMILEY

Wouldn't the game get constantly interrupted by spawns? It's a nice idea but they would not be able to have it on the SE servers since it would be considered gambling just like the Gigglgibber Goblins. (or whatever they are called)

No, why I said a small window in the corner. Sort of like the loot window. You know when you are killing and someone loots in the middle of battle, you can just move that little window aside till the end and then hit accept, or as in this case would be "Bet".

Maybe I will use an example to refine my idea. Basically you are in a group deep in a dungeon killing away place holders or waiting for a group member to to get to the group so you can start up. Someone in the group launches the game and a tiny window shows up. One player decides he does not want to play so he hits no and the windows closes for him and he is out that game. As for the people who chose to play you hit the pay ante button and you are delt cards. This would all be in a small window on the side that you can move out of the way and keep fighting no problem. Just like the loot window that pops up all the time in battle. Now you can ether bet money or drop in a loot item say a Master spell you just won the lotto on  or Adept I in the bet window and set a value to it. If you do that then everyone in the game has to accept that value for the item. Now they can bet money or loot likewise. In the end the winner gets the pot, and the whole time the group was still fighting and playing. You will notice a lot less people on auto follow or just siting around bored.

actully a casino in QH, and EFP would rock the goblins in Kaladiem already have one there they could set up something in our towns... several games come to mind... Slots (lotto) - already in game 21 (jack = dragon, queen = AB, king = freeport guy) - players could join a table playing the house (tables could be 1g, 10g, 25g, 1p, 25p for min bets) this is really easy to code - harder is graphics probablly... halas holdem (req 3 people min 6 max per table) -problem guilds could easily over vent work around to get favor in there hands to take money from one other at table. -so might have to be video poker which just sucks (imho) should also make house items where you could have people over to your house and play... -wtb sit in chair animation

It could also be a way of passing off No-trade items. After all they are "No Trade" not "No Wager"

Blah.  Texas Hold Em is the crappy poker.. I would rather see Gems return than have to play that.
