ok, i know that i wont be getting staff of light for a long time as its avatar loot so i can take that off my list for now but can anyone tell me which is better out of the following and give proof to it? soulfire staff dagger of the arcane grizzlefazzles walking stick wand of crystalized plasma and any others that compare

I'd take Dagger of Arcane Rites off the list for a warlock, especially with propagations. If you have vine-wrapped boots, Soulfire Staff --> Grizzfazzle --> WoCP If you don't, Soulfire Staff --> WoCP --> Grizzfazzle I'd say its up for debate, I think the Soulfire Staff will beat out WoCP. Anyone have it do any checking? Are the Boots and WoCP still bugged and don't stack? agressiv

someone told me its the best weapon in the game the dagger, i didnt think it would be but didnt want to look like a noob lol currently got grizlefazzles and no i dont have vw boots and i do have propogations

Dagger of Arcane Rite procs 45dmg on every hostile spell. The problem is, as a sorcerer our cast times are pretty long. Enchanters get tons of benefit from that staff, but for a sorcerer you are better off with Griz or WoCP, and especially Soulfire.

I had figured chanters would want the Dagger but most say WoCP still beats it, even with AGI line. Too bad on the soulfire staff. Had the heal proc been a power proc I'm sure it would be a different story. agressiv

Soulfire blows (even more) for AoE/DoT classes because of normalization, and Grizz outdamages it. Go with the CWoP.

how does it bug props?

Prop + Fitz + non-soulfire = 3.5x/min

Prop + Fitz + Soulfire = 2.8x/min

I'm spec'd AGI/WIS still, and use the Wand of Crystalized plasma. I only raid with my Warlock, so he's rarely in a situation with a short fight. The Wand proc's an 8% boost to base damage, and I receive another 4% boost from my WIS line. 12% boost to base damage isn't that bad at all. My numbers are generally pretty high.

ya know..that soulfire weapon really does need some more dmaga e looking at it..it hits less and procs less than grizzfazzles..waste of those 50 statues tbh..if it hit 1k at that proc rate it would be ok but i guess i gotta go get wand of plasma

Regarding soulfire bugging propogation, it's not really an issue with Soulfire itself, but with the mechanics of how the proc increase is being calculated. For some reason our "4%" increase is modified by weapon delay. Soulfire has a 2.5 second delay, which makes it (to my knowledge) the slowest 1-handed weapon a mage can equip. A 1.6 second delay is common for most 1-h wands. The faster weapon you equip, the higher you will see your proc rate go. I suppose the mechanics make sense for melee proc items, but for mages with procs that are triggered by spells it makes absolutely no sense. If you really want to max your proc rates, the rather unremarkable Ancient Velium Rod has a delay of 1.3 seconds which will give you an even higher proc rate on your items than you are likely seeing with your current weapon. Is giving up the proc on grizzfazzle or whatever other weapon you currently use worth the small extra boost to proc rates (about 0.3x/minute more vs. grizzfazzle, WoCP, or other 1.6s delay weapons)? Not for me, but perhaps with enough proc gear the math might actually work out in favor of the Ancient Velium Rod. And if someone offers you an Ancient Mithril Staff, kindly tell them to go to hell. That 3.5s delay will absolutely kill your proc rates with propogation. SMILEY
