Even with the changes the left side prestige still seems quite under-powered compared to the right.
Hellfire feels hopelessly inadequate even with the 2,5 mil mod buff, which either doesn't work or just doesn't scale as good as I hoped. I didn't notice a significant change on either Ice Comet or Fusion. I'd suggest something along the lines of simply increasing the next spell by X%, so that the mod amount doesn't have to be changed every time there is new itemization. The only positive thing I have to say about Incineration is that it seemed easier to keep the stacks up than before. Although the damage itself is still pretty lack luster. Finally the conversion (CB->POT) being the other way around doesn't help either. Considering the CB/POT ratio isn't 1:2 the conversion should be further adjusted. In light of how much AoE power one has to give up, in addition to a lot of flexibility, I feel that the left side prestige should be considerably stronger than the right side to even be considered viable. |

For it to be balanced, left side should have the advantage against a single target, with right side being strong in AE situations. That's never been the situation, because Frozen Rain was always better than left side even at single target.
Solution: keep the buff to Frozen Detonation, but reduce Frozen Rain back to reasonably low levels so right-side spec doesn't beat left-side at single target. |

Great. So there's still zero reason to ever go left-side spec. Why even have it in game? |

Look, I raided on a wizard for a long time. I'm not advocating for a situation where wizards would feel compelled to jump AA specs 15 times a night because left side is, let's say, 50% more ST damage. That's annoying and no one likes that.
I'm just saying "there's no reason to even have a prestige tree if it's worse in literally every situation than the alternative". |
