Hello fellow Norrathians!

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about what this expansion will contain. So, let us try to give a quick overview on the features coming!

-New Heroic Dungeons
-New Heroic Event Dungeons
-New Solo Dungeons
-New Duo Dungeons
-New Large Overland
-New Raid Dungeons: Using key flagging to unlock
-Alt-Friendly Keyring system: Unlock a new heroic zone or raid zone on your main? Your alt has it now too!
-New Hub zone “Coliseum of Valor” for accessing Dungeons/Raids/Public Quests
-Lots of new quests and factions
-New Timed Key Quests
-New Collection Quests
-New Signature questline: Continuation of the story from the last few expansions and beyond!
-New weapon type: Crossbows ranged weapon usable by all
-New “Soulbound” Weapons : These weapons can level up to become even more powerful! Epic 2.0 weapons will gain this feature as well!
-Adventure Level Cap Raised to 110
-All 4 Ascension Classes Level Cap Increased to 15
-Tradeskill Level Cap raised to 110
-New Adornments for Crafters to Make
-New Tinkering Recipes
-Guild Level Cap increased
-Mercenary Level Cap increased
-More gear slots for your Mercenary
-Multiple New Public Quests
-Lots of New Achievements
-Lots of New Items to chase

Couple Questions...

-Guild Level Cap increased : ...at the pace we are going, (many guilds aren't past lvl 165) Is there plans to increase the pace of Guild leveling?

-New weapon type: Crossbows ranged weapon usable by all : ...is there anything for Ranger/Channeler that will benefit us since our Epics are Ranged?

On the subject of the crossbow, I would assume by using it, it would increase the "aim" skill that's in our skills section of character sheet.. However, after using it all day I haven't gotten a single skill up. Is this a bug? Illy class if that matters

Many thanks for that, Gninja. Could kindly confirm that the mercenary feature is definitely included with PoP?

(There have been questions in General about it over the past few days, with some folks adamant they aren't. A definitive answer would help a lot.)

Considering that the mercenary feature was included in Kunark Ascending, I can't see why it wouldn't roll over to POP as well.

Heh, agreed, and many people argued that point as well, but trolls be trollin' (or if not exactly trolls, maybe call them "those of strong opinions that can't be swayed by logic"). Wink

Yes, mercenary feature is included in PoP. I know the mechanics folks had plans on how to fix crossbows for Channelers and Rangers but I will have to get with him and find out about it. Will post here when I have more info.

As far as guild level cap, it will likely remain difficult to level it the farther up in levels you get. Having a super leveled guild should be a prestigious thing not just automatic. But I will ask for clarification if any adjustments are being made to it.

could you explain how New “Soulbound” Weapons will works ?
Didn't understand while playing in Beta.
Will the ascension spell upgrade be as confused as in live ?

In the original PoP expansion you had the Planes Zones to quest. A dev mentioned 5 or so in this PoP Expansion last week on Discord. However i can't see those mentioned here.

Gninja... The other day in General Chat, in game, you said that 20 TS writs per level was about right (not exact word there). I hope you were joking. It does not usually take that much in live when you have on a potion. And also things like your Tradeskill clothes and items. Like the far seas neck item that gives 10%. And the new little item that the npc oliver gives us. I was getting about 7 pct last nite per writ with a 100% TS potion and the items on. If that is how it is supposed to be then I guess.. but TSing is not fun, just needed for the game. So can't it be a little faster? Or at least for Beta?

So basically, yes there is, then, but it's not technically random, right? Like it's technically not random in KA because you have to be on the 'list' to be eligible, and then it selects one... or for ToT it's not random, because you have to kill things?

For the most-likely inevitable, here are some genuine requests:

  • Make the quest item, like the burnt key, HEIRLOOM. If someone is going through a zone on an alt for the first time and not their main, and if the item inside is that good, it's frustrating knowing you can't give it to said main toon.
  • Don't let it happen to one character more than once. Seeing the same characters get it repeatedly, even after told it was fixed, is very disheartening.
  • Give another way to get the item or the equivalent....even if it's expensive, it's attainable. 100,000,000 SP + 1,000,000 PLAT + 1,000 New PQ Tokens. That way people can work for it their own way. Make it a rare get form level 3 chests - gives a reason for people to keep getting those key quests!
  • Add a server wide message when it happens, not just for that instance. Some people on Skyfire were super bad about trying to lie to general chat to say the key fired off before it did, to get people to leave the zone.
  • If you have to be in zone for a shot at it, give people a reason to still be in the zone. Working on epic 2 in KA, I was in other zones a lot - actively playing. When I was trying for the key, I had to stop what I was doing and go piddle around in OF. That led to me giving up even trying, personally.

We are NOT making a zone you have to get a key to get into like the duck/burnt zones. If we do anything, everyone will be able to just do it. Nothing random at all.

I'am talking about the Planes of Valor ( Zone Hub only?), Innovation, Disease, Storms and Fire. In the original POP you had to do quests in those Planes? Much like smaller overland zones.

This exactly. I've spent days, literally weeks, camped out in OF trying to get a burnt key. I spent time hovering while I was asleep, and spent time doing nothing but questing, harvesting, and key quests, and never saw a key. I've only seen the burnt key message about 5 times total in the last year. I still have no idea what to do to get one to drop in my bags, and the folks that got them weren't good at sharing information. Some folks even got the keys more than once. It's no fun seeing those portals all over the place in Kunark, knowing they're never going to be for you. I would have loved a way to experience it, even if it did turn out to be very expensive and it were complete-able only once, it would at least be a goal for aiming towards. (Suggestion: make it ding off in the achievements upon player-initiated exit on front door so that folks who maybe went LD while inside could have a chance at coming back and not get borked outta it....) Goals! A body can use goals!
