So I finally figured out the streaming vs full download...there was a check box in the launchpad for Full Install, so I checked that box. Looks like it's going to take a good while to do the full install, but hopefully once that's done a lot of my issues (most of them minor) will vanish. Thank you, oldskool, for bringing this to my attention, as I had thought I'd already turned off the streaming option, and I see now that I did not.

Wow, no wonder I have been using the streaming method. Full install, it's been nearly 12 hours now and it's still only downloaded just under 4k of 16k MB. What on earth did SOE pack in this game that it should take this long to only download 1/4 of the install? I have NEVER seen a game take this long to install, in all my years of running mmo's. Looks like it will be a few days before I can play again, while this download takes place. I better never need to uninstall/reinstall again. :/

Sooo here we are 20 hours later and the download is just now reaching 50%. Yeah, looks like another day before this download will be done. Here's hoping it's done before updates tomorrow. Wonder why they are happening on Monday instead of Tuesday, the normal day for updates? If updates mess up my download and I have to start all over again, I'm going to be pretty livid.

![]() If the download is going real slow stop it at a completed file and restart. after it has been connected for 18 to 24 hours, the DL slows down sometimes and in some cases just stalls. |

The launchpad does not give me the option to stop and start it. From my figuring though, based on how much time has passed and how much content has been downloaded so far, it should be done sometime between 6-8am my time, so it should be done before SOE pulls everything down at 7am PDT.

Well, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Only 12% of the download left to go now.

That is part of the issue. When I mouse over the internet connection it says 100Mbps, but when I talked to Verizon a while back about it, they told me it was a lot slower than that to download. I forget now what it is, but I've still never had an issue with an mmo taking this long to download.
Another issue I think is this computer, because I still have my old computer and it surprised me to see that the old computer downloads a lot faster than this one does. This is an excellent gaming computer, where the old computer was just a store bought eMachine from Walmart, so it makes no sense to me why it would download things so much faster than this one does. I would call HP and ask about it, except that every time I call their tech support, the first thing out of their mouth, they tell me to 'Shut your computer down, right now! Someone's trying to take control of it', then try to sell me some blurb about sending a tech out to my house for $200 so they can 'fix' the issue. Totally crooked if you ask me. Last time I had not even given them any info yet, and the rep told me that. |

I am also experiencing the crash to desktop upon adding character to zone Tranquil Sea. This crash has happened on 3 completely different computers and two networks both tired wireless and hard wired. My primary computer is a Dell Inspiron with Pentium processor on windows 7, secondary is HP Vista. IDK if this info will help dev team but I hope it dose.

Hurray! I'm finally able to zone into TS as of last evening - still crashing when I zone between the new zones but at least I'm able to test *grins*
If you need additional crash reports the char I was playing was Tanasis |

So, I logged in after work, like I always do, in hopes of getting into TS. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself on the docks of the Tranquil Sea. YAY ! I ran around the landing for a minute and then realized I needed the starter quest. Ran the toon to Qeynos and when I zoned back to TS I crashed. Undaunted this time, I logged back in and was able to ru. Around some more and run the first couple,of,quests. I zoned into the gnomes basement, talked with him , and crashed again zoning out to TS.
It would appear that I can at least play a bit now and hopefully get the shiny ground mount reward. Snowpeltt is the tons name if ya'll need to check. |

Thanks Chunk! That's great news. Keep us informed. I'm hoping your crash was due to an untimely Beta update.

Pumpkin, you are a bit of a puzzle. We have no crash logs, however I do see you connecting to the zone and then going linkdead. Do you normally take a very long time to zone? I see you connect to the zone and then 3 minutes later go linkdead.
Could you PM me your DXDiag? Click the windows button Type id dxdiag Once it is finished click the "save to file" option and just PM me the first 100 lines or so of that file. |

Kudos.
No issues now with loading TS. when zoning to Phantom Sea it crashed but no need to delete anything. I think it is just borderline on RAM between the two big zones. I called home in Phantom Sea and zoned back to TS with zero problems. Looks like this is fixed at least for me. : ![]() edit: Seems the frame rate is better too. |

![]() EDIT - Bufee just got into zone. I guess I have to wait much longer than I thought. Just to note - the game/client does freeze while I'm waiting. In fact, my entire computer was frozen at one point. I still will send diax file. |

![]() When loading the new zones there is a really heavy hit that will push your processor really hard. You are likely to have long load times with the new zones compared to even very old desktop processors. You should have faster zoning times the next time you zone in, but that first time was probably a doozy. |

Doing some general looking over the crash logs today I see a lot of people, mostly on 32 bit Operating Systems, have very low virtual memory when starting EQ2. If you are crashing going into the new zones try increasing your virtual memory settings. This might help if trying to run EQ2 with other programs like a voice chat, parsing program and web browser at the same time.

Anadorr, I do not see any crash logs for computers that have logged into beta with those characters. I do see you wait about 45 sec and then disconnect. Are you running streaming? The new zones are about 100MB of streaming download each maybe you were still streaming down the zone? Otherwise from what I see you should be okay hardware-wise.

Still crashing what seems to be every other time I load TS. I am getting into the zone and am able to play. It just seems like the second time I try to load into TS during a session the game crashes. |

![]() Chunk, I see no crashes from you. However, I do see that you disconnected after zoning for 60 seconds and again after zoning for 64 seconds. Looking at times you zoned in and did stuff in the logs it looks like a 60 second zoning time is about average for you getting into that zone. Lower end machines are going to be pushed pretty hard when loading the new overland zones, they have a lot more detail and such compared to previous overland zones. |
