Seriously. I don't care if it's BG's or not, it's a rather obvious problem and maybe you need to take of the rose colored gnomish goggles. Not every server, not all the time, intermittent problem or not, 30 minute zone times and login servers down for that kind of time is unacceptable for this long of a period. It's widespread enough they can't possibly be in such vast ignorance of the causes as they're implying. They'd have to be [Removed for Content] poor database engineers if that were true. Or....wait...... |

![]() Just an FYI - Brenlo discussed this issue yesterday in the "Game Update" post (first paragraph) that's stickied near the top of this forum. |

Uuh .. obvious facts? The problems are caused by reconciling the changes to a character than happen when it returns from the BGs. This would not be needed if BGs were not separate from the main servers. Also each group of servers most likely has it's own database cluster. This is why some servers tend to take eachother out when there is major DB issues. The Account/Login servers are also on their own. |

So what's your point? Notwithstanding what is actually causing the problem, it remains an "obvious fact" that it's taking people on certain servers 15 to 30 minutes to zone, which to me is a near game-breaking issue. The 'take off the tinfoil hat' comment makes no sense.

Gotta agree. Some of you may not have been affected by the zoning issues and the "stuck in broker transaction" issues but there were far too many of us, spread across many different servers, who WERE having the issue. Myself included. Although it seems to have gotten better on Everfrost lately. So, no tinfoil hat here. |

![]() Hey Kiara... maybe you should just sticky one of these threads so people can stop making new posts to be deleted? Just a thought. Otherwise as long as the problem exists we wont stop talking about it. Considering it makes the game nearly unplayable for some... |

Do you believe everything you read on the internet? Although i am not too affected by zoning lag etc, it does happen a lot since BG went live not much if at all before BG went live. What really urks me is BGs 'moves a character' to a new server and back, yet if I want to move my character to a different server I have to pay $25 n $tation Ca$h for BGs is doing 1000s (or more) times daily. Thats stickin it to your playerbase. And from what Brenlo has also posted the moves are equivalents. Just tweeted by Brenlo : "Brenlo: @mmo_brent we are seeing some very heavy DB load on some of the medium pop servers. We are trying to figure out why" uh BGs duh. (I am not creating a 'tweet' account just so i can stalk er respond to Brenlo though. |

Lethe's obvious facts were wrong. That is the point I was making. Never once did I say that there was not a major problem. What SOE has been telling us fits perfectly with the problems people have been seeing. Some of the Database servers have major performance issues while BGs are turned on. The Battlegrounds themself are not the issue, it is the transfer of data to and from the battlegrounds that is causing the problems. Do I think SOE needs to shut off the BGs until they can resolve ther performance issues? Hell Yes. Do I think Any amount of testing beforehand would have revealed this issue? unlikely. Do I think SOE has handled this situation correctly up until this point? No. |

The SOE database folks have been trying to sort out the performance issues. But if you feel that the issue is with your particular server, guess what? Server transfers are just $12.50 this weekend by way of Double StationCash. Or you can wait and see if either performance issues are resolved with hardware upgrades, or whether there might be some discounts on server transfers. But $12.50 is a pretty good deal. |

Right, Station cash. The thing that originally almost made me quit the game. Yeah I want to use that "feature" to try to fix the other problem thats making me want to stop playing. Because you know, I just LOVE paying more for less. *Edit "But $12.50 is a pretty good deal" Are you Kidding me? Oh hey you have a problem with your server, its ok! Only $12.50 for a server transfer away from everyone you know to a different server... that might still have the same problem. Buts its only 12.50! Thats a hell of a deal! |

Only $12.50 if you're living in mainland US with access to somewhere selling FreeRealms cards and only for this weekend. For those players in the Eurozone, UK or Austrailia its around US$40 due to the iniquitous SOE exchange rate and the fact that such offers never ever apply to us. Oddly, I still get the emails about it - which is rather rubbing salt into the wounds. Surprised at you posting this tbh Feldon, you're normally well on the ball about such things, one of the very few EQ2 bloggers whose opinion normally carries any weight with me. Was surprised you didnt make an editorial comment on the battlegrounds exploit / suspensions either for that matter - was a big thing, I was looking forward to reading your opinion. |

Things were somewhat better, till last night on Oasis. Took us 40 mins to get a full raid zoned into labs. I have my suspicions about Vasty deep being part of the problem this time as it was later at night (11ish MST). Really quite ridiculous tho to spend that long just trying to get a raid zoned in. By the time we were in there was enough time to kill the first named and call it a night.

Things are ridiculous on Oasis again..... took 10 mins to zone from GH to Antonica and then got dumped on the bloody bird in antonica. [Removed for Content] is wrong with this game SOE.

![]() Hi all! My wife and I play on the Oasis server and the reason I have time to write this is because we have been waiting to log in; stuck in "Receiving zone info" screen. I didn't read the patch message, but I'm guessing BG is back up? I guess I have time to read the patch message. I only get about two hours a week night night to play, but here I am bothering you guys. Go figure! I don't have the energy anymore to rant; just look at my past rants. The situation is the same. Love the game but don't love not being able to play it. |

![]() Okay, got me this time. The Oasis server is listed as down on the Network Status page. I guess I'll have to save all of my witty sarcasm for something else. Please get us back up and running! |
