DLGamer puts an EU VAT on all Prices even when ordering from an non-Eu Country (I refuse to pay 17% (or so) taxes to the EU when I'm not a member)

This link is available for non-Eu contry , asia and Australia ( $39.99 without EU VAT )

http://www.dlgamer.us/buy-everquest...oad-p-6517.html

Thank you for your effort. Unfortunately following this link it tells me "This product is not available for Switzerland",

seem's like DLGamer doesn't know there are European Countries which are not part of the European Union. Even Steam only lets me buy in Euro while we are not a member of the EuroZone.

I will decide tomorrow if the expansion is worth 52 CHF (around 50 US$) to me. Shame on you SOE

Edit:

Hmm seems DLGamer fixed it, it's now available for me too! YaY saved 10$

On the 12th of Nov 2009, SOE announced pre-ordering would be available. Immediate concerns were raised by customers about SOEs strategy, especially regarding distribution. Since then, a tirade of issues has culminated to this...3 months and 2 days later, 14th Feb 2010, I learned that on the 16th of Feb, USA time, I have to go to the USA based steam website, and hope the listing for EQ2:SF has been added (it is not presently listed). I also have to hope EQ2:SF is available for purchase in my country (Australia), as no other DD provider (named by SOE) will allow me to puchase from their website due to IP/Region restrictions. I am from Australia, not Europe. As others have stated, I am astounded that I am having this much difficulty in trying to give a company money to provide me with their product. I hope that at least one person at SOE, who will be around for the next expansion, will learn from this and ensure the process is significantly improved. So here I am, hoping that STEAM comes through and does everything right, unlike almost every other single process SOE has attempted with distributing EQ2:SF. It is with irony that I duly note, if STEAM does not provide, SOE can claim they did their part, and the failure to deliver was not their fault. It sucks, because I just want to play the expansion, not endure all this garbage.

Why do we complain about the price??? If you still need an answer to that then you might need professional help.

EQ2 Sentinel's FATE MSRP US is $39.99 ?$39.99 = £25.52+UK VAT = £29.99$39.99 = €29.36 +EU VAT= €34.99

And your point is?

I clearly stated in my post (that you quoted) that the price of the main competitior WoW is HALF that of EQ2.

Ok so it’s the 15th here right now. Apparently the game I choose to play most every day is releasing expansion on the 16th. I’ve followed this and many other threads in disbelief at the lack of any real business acumen in the process and the lack of solid information being distributed in a meaningful way. So far the only outlet I have any hope in gaining the expansion on the 16th has every game under the sun available apart from Sentinel’s Fate. (Steam)

This has got to be the most frustrating and badly planned (I struggle with using the term managed) release I have ever seen. I think the real issue for the great majority of us is the lack of any responsibility shown by any SOE person and the lack of any apology at the atrocious customer service supplied to a very loyal fan base. Most of us understand the business realities involved with getting a product to market and the problems related to 3rd party involvement. What most of us are not used to is the appearance that no one at SOE cares enough to say sorry or bust a gut to better inform and reassure it’s precious customer base.

If you have any business nous, you will understand that the perception of your ability is just as important as the reality of it. So far the perception sadly is Mickey Mouse.

Please don’t look at this as just another whine. I want EQ2 to succeed. It is in my interest for your processes to become a lot better. Step up with real feedback and the perception that you give a [Removed for Content] and the majority will back you.

think you are ahead of yourself, it is currently the 14th in california - and if I recall correctly from previous posts in this chain - it is all governed off the 16th in california, isnce that is when the servers are coming down for the upgrade and the expansion.

part of my questions was "will I be able to buy this expansion and get immediate access to the game key on the 16th?" I would have thought that was clear enough.

Actually, your two posts had the words Pre-order in it...  lol

Hello xxxx, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. At this time there is no pre-order available for this title. We will be unable to provide further information regarding this product at this time. Please refer to the Steam News section for the latest information on upcoming Steam titles and content. Steam News http://store.steampowered.com/news/ Thank you for your interest.

This tells me that they do not have a pre-order available, and that they are unable to give you more info right now....

You are kidding right? So they will be ready to go on Tuesday, but know NOTHING about it now. Hmmmm ........

Playing with words at this stage does not help appease the angry SOE customers.

I am not trying to appease anything, just trying to help.  That is how I read what Steam sent to you.  I hope that for everyone, they will have the available download on the 16th...

dlgamer.co.uk has lifted restrictions for Australia

It only let me order 1 copy (I am going to try a second now) but at least it's a start. Now I just have to sweat it out and wait for my Keys.

I now have 3 copies on order. Process was not that smooth but got there in the end. Time will tell I guess.

Except that for US and Canada, the DD is on the 23rd of February...

If you live outside North and South America, then the only way to get in the new expansion on the 16th is to buy the DD from the sites that Kiara linked in the first post of this thread...

Lol, I am not mistaken, that is what was told...

However, it appears to be done through IP addresses, so I worry that if you are located NA, whether or not the purchase will go through or be denied later.  On the site, it states the 23rd...

I am in australia and the site i linked states very clearly the 16th for non us and non euro.

Btw you can still be mistaken even though you are saying what you are told. As we have seen through this whole process no one seems to know 100% for sure what is going on lol

I meant no disrespect.

Edit: i thin ki see where the confusion happened. I think you might you thought i was saying you were mistaken re: being able to download in the usa on the 23rd were as i was referring to the only site being available being the ones kiara mentioned in first post SMILEY hope that clears it up lol

I didn't find this so not taking the Kudos but this site will allow you to get a copy of either the Basic DD version or THE COLLECTOR"S Edition KEYS when the game releases. I don't know much about the site and have never used them before so i cannot confirm or deny the site. Prices are the same as Retail. What happens is they email you the key and you can get the box mailed to you for an extra fee, not perfect but i understand it does cost to ship lol.

The site is http://www.onlinecdkey.com/index/ev...c-35.html  or

Q: Will you email me the CD key/passcode? A: Yes! Our service's primary and preferred delivery method is email, due to its speed and ease of use. We won't physically ship anything to you unless you specifically request that we do. Even if you choose to have the product shipped, this will not delay your CD-key/passcode delivery--those will always be in your email inbox 2-24 hours after your order has been finalized.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept? A: We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and money orders.

Q: Is this legal? A: Our company is based in the United States, and our business conforms to all applicable laws. It is legal in the US to resell any item or portions of the item under Federal trade laws.

The above is from their FAQ...interesting that its legal and SOE you could have done this yourself and avoided it all.

" />

hope this helps us all. Shame that SOE couldn't organise similar.

I would like to specify that anyone that uses that site need to beware.  It is not an "official" distributor of the EQ2 game (meaning that it is not on Kiara's list of trusted sites to order from).  I was part of the LoTRO mess that happened a few years back with people using that site.  Some had no issues, some had bad issues SMILEY

Just be wary please SMILEY  I would love for everyone to get into the new areas asap, not have to fight with a website over what they purchased SMILEY

This site isn't on the trsusted site and like i said in my post i know nothing of it...would be nice to be able to have a mount and get the collectors edition...always have to forgo the extra goodies being an Australian and this would be the first boxed copy i'd have since the original rellease that was at my local games store.. Can you tell us what makes the site not trusted . Still got a few hours to make an informed decision. Thanks

Agreed but its better than SOE exchange rates lol

1000 station cash = $10 us dollars

1000 station cash = $16 AUS dollars instead of the $11-$12 it should be lol

At least they are closer to the mark with the monthly subscription charging us $17.95 aus dollars but we still pay more.

I had nothing to do with figuring out the list, but I would assume that the list that Kiara provided had been screened and found to be a reliable store.  As I said, just be careful if you should decide to try to go elsewhere.  If something should go wrong with any of these online stores, then the customer needs to take it up with the stores... but the "trusted" ones that Kiara listed may be better.

That site is not a site that we, as a company, have a deal with to distribute our product.

As such, we cannot guarantee that they are reputable.

That isn't to say that they aren't... just that we cannot stand beside any deals that they make with you.

Excellent news about DL Gamer and Australia btw.  Thanks so much for posting that update!

Thanks for answering Kiara...okies well i'm from Australia too and i might have to take the risk to get a collectors edition from them -crosses fingers and toes-

Don't suppose any of the sites you listed will do DD for collectors edition after the 16th for places its not retailing ?

I decided to brave the exciting world of digital downloads. I also, as Pikard earlier, live in Thailand. I tried DLgamer. I did not get the IP restriction message or a statement that the product is not sold in Thailand. I was told that they will not accept payment from Thailand. They never asked how I intended to pay. It would have been by U.S. credit card. Oh well. my highest character is only 72 and at the rate I am going the next expansion will be out before I get to the new content anyway.

Hi,

I live in the Middle East at the moment, specifically Dubai, and unfortunately I can't use DLGamer or D2d because I get the IP restriction. This obviously is very frustrating as I need to catch up and level with my guild, I dont want to start leveling to 90 when most of my guild already got there. And waiting for a retail copy is not a solution I welcome, mainly because retail here means up to a week being delayed. I need a solution, quick.

Thank you

Well, Kiara... I tried out these folks (online CD key.com) and wonder of wonders, They actually worked

I placed the order and 30 mins later I was contacted via telephone by a member of their staff confirming the order. since I live in thailand that isnt a cheap call.

The salesman was knowledgable and told me exactly when to expect the email containing the key code.

None of the vendors Kiara recomended WORKED. possibly steam would but we wont know until the 16th.

Problems with your prefered vendors Kiara.

1.  DLgamer . Would not sell to my IP address.

2. Direct2drive. Would not sell to me at all. no payment options they would accept. ( I have paypal and a US credit card)

3. Steam. Would not allow me to preorder.

I live in Thailand atm, and  i'll assume this same scenario is happening to most people in asia.

Not good customer service is it?

Greg

I just used onlinecdkey.com to purchase a CD key, and I am very pleasently surprised. They contacted me and guided me through a step-by-step process on how it works (won't discolose it here).

I reccomend this website, I would even go as far as reccomend SoE to contact them as CDKey disturbutors because for people (such as myself) it really does wonders.

Thank you
