![]() Yes, it seems to be hit and miss. I reworked the quest nearly completely yesterday to make it a bit more reliable and took out a bunch of the moving parts that could have been locking it up. It should be making its way down the pipe this week if all goes well. In the meantime if you do find it to be not responding you can petition and GMs can reset him for you. |

![]() My problem on Oasis Server is that he does not make a move to even start the ritual to cleanse the Stele, I've even deleted that particular quest several times and even camped before retaking it. So I'm going to have to petition my way past this?

![]() Not sure if it was yesterday's server reset, plain luck, or what, but I was finally able to get this quest to update last night. I wandered over to the area to check, as I do every night, and lo and behold there was a person there and it was obvious that Kerr was working on the stele. I let them finish up and get out of the general area, deleted the quest, re-accepted and went through the dialogue, and he went through the script with no problems...I guess. There were no mobs that ever approached him so there was really no defending going on. I checked on the opposite side of the stele as well, and no mobs there. Now me has a nice cloakie (quest after) at least. Server Butcherblock. |

![]() The permanent fix for this bug should be live now with this morning's hotfix. Let me know if Kerr has any issues still and I will smite him followed by driving home and crying for a bit. |

![]() Had almost forgotten about this was testing the harvests on Osmiums and ran across this area. He was waiting on me to hail him to start, but there was no indication of any kind, feather or book. I hailed him, said I would protect him and he immediately began the walk to the stele it progresses as it should have and updated. Tempting fate (lol) I deleted it and cleared the harvests out of area, restarted it and it worked just as it should. When he finished the enchanting I went AWAY from him harvesting and it still updated me with the green text saying I protected him. Spoke with him and progressed it. I do believe you got this one ironed out GNinja!

![]() I was finally able to comeplete this last night. Still looks like there is some iffy code, however. When I arrived, I had the old quest already started. To my suprise, there were TWO Kerrs standing there, right on top of each other. Hailed one, no change. Hailed the other, no change. Deleted quest, hailed one, nothing. Hailed the other, got quest, and quest updated. When the "protect" phase (1 mob? really?) was over, my quest updated, and both copies of Kerr dissappeared, then a new copy popped up. --Nibs |

![]() Ran this today. 3 Kerrs at his location, took a couple of tries to hail the right one, and Kerr wandered of to do his ritual thing. Odd thing though is no mobs turned up to the party, I just waited until the ritual finished followed Kerr back to his tent and watched him sit down. At this point the other two Kerrs went poof and I got the red book to complete the quest. So I got the update, but I don't think it's working quite as intended yet. |

Hmm on Test there were three waves of 2-3 mobs each I believe. Interesting that only 0 or 1 are showing up for the party. |

![]() I did this on patch day, maybe I was the first on Everfrost to run it. There was only on Kerr and the protect phase behaved the same it did as when I completed it the first time and tempted fate, deleting it only to find it bugged again. The latest patch I did it 2 times, deleting before returning to brint (I think?) the first time. While something still seems screwy for some at least it seems you can get an update. It sounds like Kerr is (supposed to be) despawning on completion and a new spawn is supposed to be created when you get your update from him. IIRC the waves were just as Cyliena described.

Ran this again on a second char. This time at least 7 copies of Kerr, kind of hard to tell exact number, however after getting the right copy to resond, same thing happened - Kerr performed his ritual, no mobs, went back to his tent sat down, other copies poofed and I get my update. Seems as if uncompleted quest copies of Kerr are messing with the script. Abandoned the quest whilst only the one sitting copy of Kerr existed and before returning to Brink, hoping to get a clean shot at the quest, however as soon as I did that the previous Kerr clones all reappeared. Definately something odd going on. Reran the quest from this point to get my update and again no mobs. |

![]() Yeah, it seems when the quest gets into what ever funky state it was getting into before that character does nothing from then on. The character actually has a "kill" function built into it where if it has been in the word for more than a few minutes it is supposed to go away. As you can see it doesn't listen to that either |

It seems (to me at least) that Kerr gets into that state either because players accept the quest, but don't hail him for the second time to start the ritual - perhaps not realising they have to, or that the quest is still bugged, or that they just accept the quest then wander off to do something else or just log/zone. Don't you just love NPC's that refuse to do as programmed |
