I used a bit the recipe part. It's great, especially the ressources needed (even if infos are incomplete in some cases). It's still way better than whant you had before or what Niami had on EQ2traders. Without all those missing recipes, changed recipes and so on that made all databases false to some extend. Not sure you'll be able to add localised servers as we have a lot of items that don't show the same numbers as english items (and so a lot of links don't work from our servers to other servers).

Niami and I despaired trying to keep up with recipes by hand!

Yep, and I never tried on my own website. I always thought it couldn't be done at all. Even the databases that are just posting items like lootdb are off because of all the removed/changed items so, for recipes, it was always worse. I'm really happy for both of you, this change is really great.

My oh my. I was cruisin' the intarwebs today and thought I'd hit the Zam site for giggles. Guess what? No broker feeds for the EU servers. What a surprise. LULZ inc.

Today is the 1st of June.... exactly 41 days after you started up the new ZAM site.

28 "working" days and still no answer about the EU servers?

This is the right way to lose potential customers, I mean cmon you posted on the 1st of may tto say that it was being looked into! laughable to say the least.

Dont worry the broker feature is bout worthless because  it lists things that arent   for sale and is  very far from real time.

There are other glitches as well.  Try finding a zone listing for either zone added in GU51.  Changes to loot tables that were made in February are still not showing up.  Not all the mobs for zones that are listed are present.  Given that, who knows how long it will take their database to sync up to the new spell/combat art naming scheme coming in GU52.

I'd take it as she has nothing further to add yet.

When she knows something, she'll post it. If you actually want to find out whats happening, I suggest finding out who at SoE is dealing with this data feed and ask them questions directly.

And zam with its amazing connections to SOE cannot ask this simple question? How should I find out who is responsible at Sony for what? They are already ignoring questions from our end in perfection and the EU servers in general.

Day 56 in the big ZAM house:

Things to do today

  1. Check ZAM site
  2. Maintenance check on ZAM server
  3. Backup maintenace
  4. Speak to SOE about Euro server feed and the totally lack of it note to self can't be arsed its only the Euro servers.
  5. Check data feed for accuracy Screw that its lunch time.

You forgot the second set of quotes around "live".  Fixed it for you.

I am glad you kept the individual comments attached to the quests.

That was something that was very important to those of us on the EQ2 team at ZAM. The community helped develop and shape and update the quests through their comments. And, we didn't want to lose that. The same goes for the Wiki pages. Much of those pages are player contributed. And, to lose that would be to throw away the personable feel of the site as well as all the hard work the players put in to their contributions.

I completely agree with that.

As for the new site I do like it.  As another poster said, it will be something new to get used to.

I've been looking up quest info quite a bit lately and what I don't seem to be finding are the player comments.  Where can I find them?

Not all the quests have comments from players.

But if they do,  there is a tab labled comments.

It is below the base quest info, with the wiki and discussion tabs if there are any.

Correct!  That's the one thing that throws peopel off the most.  There's so much info it's been put into tabs at the bottom of the db entries.  All player comments have been preserved.

And again Calthine you ignore the other question with regards to the EU servers, ever thought of becoming a politician? I think you would be great!

I still haven't an answer I can give you, although I did talk to Illia about it at Fan Faire and tried to impress the gravity of the situation.

And like with everything else when it relates to Europe we will follow the same sequence:

1 : promises

2 : silence

If Zam had any kinda basketballs they would call out SOE to make a statement what the plans for Europe are.

Oh wait, no, you could not do that....to dependent on them....

I find it a bit difficult to believe that your only avenue of contact with Illia is at Fan Faire.

I remember last year's Fan Faire when SOE and Zam proudly announced their linking up to provide all the information that was available on the old Zam site, EQ2Players, and then some. Obviously with all this fabulous content a subscription would end up being charged but it would be worth it......apparently.

Well, 13 months on and I've got to say that this whole endeavour has been one huge steaming pile of "meh". Lack of live feeds, lack of support for Euro servers, inaccurate loot database, I could go on, but you know what? I'll take a leaf out of your book.....can't be bothered.
