I just checked my combat log and it appears Reversal from the warrior stamina line isn't proc'ing at all for any shield type other than buckler, so it's working still as it did pre-LU50.  I've bugged it, again.

Well here goes my opinion of TSO and GU 50:

Not worth $40 so far. Last couple TSO instances I ran was too hard and not worth it. No fabled drops, only a few 'good' legendary drops, and it's to long and we couldn't complete them in one night. I can understand that some strategies on mobs haven't been worked out or posted anywhere, and I can handle a challenge, but this doesn't count for the aggro holding issues my group has recently encountered. Taunts, noted from my friend, get resisted TOO often, and I can even notice. Before the expansion, I can just cast my CA's on my ranger and not worry about aggro issues. Now, I even have to use my fae racial teleport+detaunt (worth about 6k detaunt)ability to try to get aggro off of me if I get it. It may be so that we are responsible for using our de-taunts, but the tanks taunts are more of an issue now than before, with incredible resistability. Make taunts less resistable, and give a slightly better chance at good loot, and I may consider going back into Guk or some of the other zones. On a side note, I don't think its fair for our guild, who had to reform 3 times, to be even more farther behind the guilds who sucessfully cleared VP, who are now clearing the new zones of TSO with little or no trouble because of their gear.

Other issues i find is the neglect of the ranger class (oh what a suprise. ) No coverage fix, no change made to focus aim AA upgrade in the shadow line, no compensation for flurrys, auto aoe attacks, no 0 meter range on our CA's with our epic bow, a crappy aoe effect on the explosive arrow CA that doesnt do more than 1k damage area wide, repeating arrows still bloody useless, and only 1 line in our ranger tree that directly increases our damage output. I'm sure that us rangers arent the only ones neglected, and I can respect the fact that not all classes may get a change before the release date of this expansion, but COME ON! We have been ignored for too long to put up with this. Just remove the /feedback command if none of the developers will soo much as adress our issues, and again not just rangers. I for one, would also like the poison spell in the predator portion of the shadows tree to be changed to reduce critical mitigation than reducing their chance to critically attack.

I also find PvP useless as well. 100-150 tokens, spending plat, AND status, along with only 1 token per 5 kills. Thats 500 kills just to get 1 single pvp item. Remove this system and implement the old one, the one which tokens drop from the player's chests. I also see a lack of jewlery and weapons and other goodies in the list of new pvp items. Making it challenging for the hard core player is nice, but it makes it impossible for the casual player, which is highly unacceptable. I would personally work as a PvP developer for free if I had the opportunity handed to me. I believe this is a great game, but it's dieing a bit fast due to stupid mistakes made in the development.

In a good note, I like some of the effort made into this expansion, and I enjoy the changes made to the brigand and the wizard AA lines. All the developers needs to do is admit their mistakes, ask for the needs of the other classes who are dissatisfied, change the achievement lines and other mechanics based on that, and there you satisfied the other communities of the other classes. They did it to Brigands, changing dispatch to add more debuff power and changing the murderous rake line completely, why not do it for the rest of the classes left ignored? Well this is my feedback, if you devs. read this and can't accept criticism, then it sucks to be you, because criticism is part of learning, and it leads to improvement if you listen.

Once question I have, is was it intentional to make all of our equipment / loot etc absolutely worthless?

I can sell my fabled / legendery gear now for 1g and some change?  Surely this is a mistake?  All 70-80 AD3s go for 92s - 1g and some change?

Perhaps to compensate for the 3-or-so platinum you can make from running a ±30-minute-long instance..and that's coinsplit to 6 people in an instance that can be done with fewer (Obelisk of Ahkzul or something).

I heard someone mention that Vista 64-bit  was causing the problems (as usual) and they mentioned how they fixed it. Might want to look it up or ask around.

The constant crashes suck and the loot from the 3 zones ive been to really is not that great at. Other then that I do like the expansion over all.

It's an ok XPac from what I've seen so far. So first, the whining....

Bad lag spikes in Moors and SS was so horrible though that one second I'd be cutting through mobs (Pally in SS... so maybe he wasn't really cutting... but hey and Swashy in Moors) the next thing I'd know I dropped 70% in health.... I guess that's to be expected though, new XPac and all...

Disappointed about the return of Ashanti Sul... gotta wait for the raid guild on my server to open her up..... /sigh I knew I should just stuck with Bert...

AA lines.. ho hum. I think from lvl chat I picked all the wrong classes.... While I haven't bothered to commit 7 different TSO lines to memory... Rangers! Oh, assassin's get an end line heal they can use every 45s? That just blows. Rangers, of coarse, get nothing... oh well... an end line AoE that'll just draw even more unwanted attention. /Mutters unkind words about assassins and punts a Halfling...

Okay... I have beer now... I'm calm(ish). /eggs an assassins house. :p Well... atleast my Inquis has another either/or with beign a healer or battle cleric...

Okay... another thing thats bugging the heck outta me... and I don't know if I'm the only one seeing it (delusinal from being stuck helping in the Children's dept the last few days) or if I just haven't noticed anyone mention it... but... Wood elf and High elf females look REALLY off. The Wood Elves were never affected by the 'sexy' stance for wahtever reason, so it's not as noticable on them... but on the High Elves..... very noticable. The leg seems in more and instead of bent looks hyper-extended... both races look like have a steel rod shoved up their **** and welded to thier spine... and they look like they're arms look far from thier bodies... like thier carrying barrels of ale.. which, ya know, is really something they should think about for a Dwarf stance...

Seriously though, am I the only one seeing this; have I gone insane... or have others noticed this too? I asked a friend of mine but she said she hasn't noticed anything (and only plays DE's) but that doesn't mean anything because... well... yea...

Ok... other than that... from what I've seen of Moors (when I'm not jerk-knee lagging) it's BEAUTIFUL even w/o my grapics turned up to full affect. Now... when can we see some apperance armour like those Brokenskull(?) Trolls are wearing? Aside from the nauseia I felt from seeng half naked female Trolls... that clothing is just B.A! Nice quests, nice lore, useless (but still cool) mount. Hope to check out the new dungeons soon... have the next couple days off so /finges crossed

i can not see the devs doing a roll back to many people like my self have been grinding the new instances for the new gear non stop since the expansion 2 days is a lot when you wpent that whole time running thoughs things for gear. i dont think the exploit is as wide spread as most of you think heck i did not even know abou it in till 5 mins before i made this post... i say not just punish but pera ban all players who used the exploit for chas and if devs think banning is to harsh then strip thogs players of all spells and plat.. still laughing at the few who really think SOE shoudl punish everybody next your going to ask SOE to ban all players cause one little dude was speed hacking

I have neither bought or sold anything, in fact I have gained no exp, AA's nothing I have had a busy work week so that's part of it but basically in order to not be affected I'm doing nothing until the fix is in place. I have all weekend this week as my wife will be working so plenty of time for me to check things out.

I noticed that "The Fallen Dynasty" adv pack is missing from the patcher options list since TSO's release.

Wanted to give devs a heads up

I wouldn't be so quick to assume it's the OS version.  A friend of mine was having similar crash problems and she runs XP.  I don't know what they did to fix it (probably a full scan of the files would be my guess), but it is correctable.

Ok, so far not too bad. I expected the lag, happens at ever new expansion. I knew before hand that I wouldn't be thrilled with the Toub AA's and changes. The Coercer AA's are ok. The new content is fun enough and nearly all of it keeps you on your toes due to all the aggro (not a complaint). The instances are difficult enough to keep me interested. Some chat problems, but I'll live through it. Overall it gets a 7 out of 10, for now, but expect it to improve once some of the small annoyances get fixed. If I have one big complaint it's the quest journal. With a TON of new quests available, I would like to see a lot bigger quest journal. About 500 should work  . I guess if this is my biggest complaint, then the expansion is pretty successful for me.

I use Vista 64bit with no issues, but my wife is using Vista 32 bit and is crashing alot. Which would lead me to believe its not an OS version issue at all. Not sure why people still want to spread lies about 64bit.

Finally Meeting the Queen:

  • Being able to finally click that door in North Qeynos and enter the castle...AHHH sweet release.  I've been dying to do that since launch and even though I was a bit disappointed there wasn't more to do while in there or some little secret thing to find...I'm just so relieved to have finally been able to enter.

Maps

  • Please, pretty please, okay ... begging now...replace those feathers - they are seriously making me insane.
  • Some zones do not permit zooming in close enough.  In zones where NPCs or landmarks are tightly clustered it is more important to be able to zoom in more than the map currently permits (in some areas).
  • The feathers and dots are massively annoying!  The feathers are difficult to see on some backgrounds (color contrast is a problem) and being set at an angle and being so large they take up too much space.  The previous convention of open circle / filed circle was much better.  Additionally, all dots need to be MUCH smaller.
  • Having more in game maps available, that is a good thing.  But just about everything else with the new maps has only served to completely aggravate me thus far.

Instances

  • Having multiple instances - with various levels of difficulty and duration available = good thing.  I have not yet run all of them, but have been pleased with the instances I have experienced thus far.
  • Zone in to a few of the instances has been buggy thus far, but nothing game breaking or too prohibitive to game play.

Tradeskills

  • I've been busy taking in the adventuring aspects thus far, but have read about many of the TS activities included in this expansion and am very excited.  With 3 epiced TSers I'm looking forward to experiencing this content.

DEVS PLEASE READ IN REGARDS TO PVP WRITS

I'm sure this has been metioned, but doesn't hurt to be mentioned again...

I have /petition (ed) this twice and it needs to be fixed....There are two pvp writs "Hero of the Void" (new) and Protectors of Cabilis (old). To get the new writ you have to right click on the writ giver and once you complete it you cannot get your token. To actually get your token you need to have the old writ and complete it as well to get the new token.  I know from BETA that they took away the ability to have both writs at the same time. So, why do I need to complete the new and the old writ to get a new token? To me, if I complete one new writ I should be able to turn it in regardless of the old.

The last GM who I spoke with in game told me a special ticket would be submitted, so what is the status of that? I noticed in the pvp forums that other players are still having that same issue.

Expansion:

I have been enjoying the work you did on the expansion yeah it lags at times but as previously mentioned on a new expansion this is expected.  The instances are tough but it makes it a lot more interesting, especially for a guild that doesn't raid.  It comes down to tactics and we already know there may be some we just won't be able to do.  I would like to see a little more drops though.

Conjurer:

I have found that my conjurer is having issues with the pet.  The pet can be standing right next to me and the spells are still red but sometimes they still work.  Other times I get a message that says the pet is to far away and it is standing next to me.

Wizard:

All I can say is thanks and I can't wait to max out my AA's.

Tank:

I haven't had a chance to play it yet in an instance, I am enjoying the DPSing right now, but I have been told that holding agro is becoming, shall we say "interesting".  You really may need to look into this.  I have been told that Guards are not the meat shield they were in the past, they are having a "few" challenges with others like Bruisers.

Soap Box:

{puts the soap box down and stands on it} As for the roll back.  Well obviously it is too late now for the roll back to work because SOE would really upset a lot of legitimate people that have been grinding.  Though SOE has really [Removed for Content] me off with this situation.  Personally I want some proof that they are doing anything about it.  Personally I want to see in the 70-79 and 80 chats that people are really upset because SOE did something.  I just want the ones that bought from the broker and sold to the vendors brought down.  Hey if they only sold what was in your bags, that's Sony's problem, that was not a true exploit (and I did this, but felt wrong so I bought it all back, idiot).

Pushing it under the rug like it never happened sends a message out to us as your game players, we never expect to get banned for anything we do anymore.  Expect to start seeing players buy plat to gear up like the players that exploited the plat.  Lets face it, it would only be fair (though they got it for free).  How do you expect us players that are trying to enjoy the game getting what we earn to compete with players that exploited the plat and are now all mastered out?  Think about it this way, your in the new instances, do you want a tank or dps that has 1 or 2 or a few masters to keep agro or deal damage or one that is mastered out?  Personally as a dps class, I want a mastered tank to hold agro off me.  Kind of hurts the others huh?  I also play a tank and would want a mastered dps to take it down fast, kind of hurts the unmastered dpser's huh?  Hey, how about a mastered healer, that would rock, leaves out my guildies right there.

I don't buy plat (and I am against this too), but you can't ban the ones that do now, they are trying to compete.  If you don't have some way to show us you did something, then expect to see other bannable things start to happen and you really have no leg to stand on to stop it now.

Fair is fair, you opened pandora's box we didn't.  Lets face the facts, you will be lucky you don't lose a lot of hardcore players for a goof up like this, you should have rolled back or at the least shut the servers down as it started and fixed them.  It's not like you didn't do unexpected shut downs in the past.

To tell the truth, if it wasn't for the players I play with, I probably would start looking at something else due to this and yes, though I raid infrequently, I am on almost every night, grouping, helping newbies and having a good time.  Pretty much a non-hardcore heavy player with multiple level 80's.  (and because I raid infrequently, I am one of the unmastered, mostly.)

{gets back off the soap box and decides to put it away, he's done with his comments, now he waits to see the proof}

Defensively the plate tanks are still fine, but aggro management has become much more of a group/raid responsibility, not just the sole responsibility of the tank. Where DPS classes used to be able to whack away with reckless abandon and fight over who's topping the parse, now things like actually using your detaunts becomes much more important. The approach that people take will have to change; like giving the tank time to build up initial aggro, leading off with your debuffs and lower-damage attacks first and building up to the big hitters once the mob has dropped lower in health. Players will also have to start learning to take responsibility for their own hate, and not just expect the tank to cover their rear while they put the pedal to the metal looking for those "big hits".

Edit: I would say that solid group builds and players who pay attention are also more important than ever before. However, it also goes without saying that TSO instances are going to be more demanding of tanks, and require that they have better gear and higher skillsets than in previous expansions. Who will be really affected by this are the tanks who are running around in mastercrafted and/or the lower end legendary sets with all ad3 spells. Tanks running around with a base < 10K health, < 50% mitigation and < 50 avoidance (e.g.: not in their defensive stance) are going to have a rough go at it.

Cool, been doing that with my Wizzy for a while, so play change shouldn't change much for a wizzy.

Good:

All of a sudden I have some real choices I have to make for my bruiser's AA's.  Looks like I'll have to dust off my AA mirror too.

Bad:

Can you say LAG?!?!?  Server lag was so bad in the new zones I had to leave.  Once I went back to Kunark it was fine but while in the new zones I'd hit a CAs and nothing would happen for seconds.  There were a few fights I had to do pretty much on autoattack and almost died to mobs I had nobusiness dying to.  Throughout the ping was always 190-250 ms and framerate between 15 and 25 fps.  Others were complaining about the exact same thing.

If the lag doesn't get better you won't see me in the new zones.  If it's a permanent situation you may not see me at all.

Ugly:

Letting cheaters get away with it is a VERY bad example.  Did they even TRY to do anything?  Yea I know the devs don't exactly have a stirly reputation themselves but you'd think they'd at least make a token effort to maintain the integrity of the game.

Apparantly they've been rolling back characters that created a lot of coin since launch but haven't rolled back any items or coin transferred via broker and guild bank transactions.

I read a few posts from people very proud of themselves for keeping exploited monies by purchasing junk items from their characters on other accounts at inflated prices and transferring masters through the guild banks.  So it seems that they're not taking this very seriously at all.

You can enter the castle? How?

This was happening to me on a computer that is running Vista 32bit and disabling multi-core support fixed the problem.

swashbuckling, adj. [swosh-buhk-ling, swÅsh-bÅ*k-lÄ“ng]

-Though many of us will automatically think of a pirate when we hear this word, it actually refers to the characteristics or manners of a 'swaggering swordsman, soldier, adventurer, or daredevil.' Swashbuckling appeared towards the end of the 17th century as the adjective form of English swashbuckler (circa 1560 CE), the 'swaggering swordsman' mentioned previously. This in turn is was formed by combining English swash and buckle. Swash started out as a noun first recorded in 1538 CE meaning 'the fall of a heavy body or blow' and may have been formed as an imitation of the sound made when this happens. It took on a verb form a few decades later, which appears to be the swash that begat our swashbuckler.

A few things that I believe need fixing:

Boss mobs not giving status in instances

Chests that drop from raid named encounters are lacking the coin drops

Is there a requirement you have to have some amount of faction or level?  None of my characters gets her to say anything other than she often attends to "Our Antonia's" business.

NVM, looked her up on allakhazam, level requirement.
