At this point in the game's life it's time to remove the whole "reset to App1" spell mechanic when betraying.

the devs disagree for the most part.

they're letting you keep certain spells already, like rescue.

Sibs, if you want to return to a faction that badly, then just do it.  Be nice to Kiara, she's been very nice in answering my question.  While I may disagree with the developers decision, it is nice for a change to get a quick and direct response.

Someone asked this elsewhere in this thread, but I can't find it to quote right now.  I'll probably find it 3 days from now looking for another post... Thank you Murphy. However, here is the answer. No, exiles will not be getting pvp armour.  It's a faction thing, and one will need to be part of a faction in order to gain that particular benefit.Once again, I know it isn't the popular answer, but it's an answer and you guys will be able to cross another one off the list SMILEY

I think you'll find that with the amount of exile-haters around here, that WAS the popular answer. I know its certainly the one I expected to get. I was kind of hoping that the devs would throw us atleast a small bone. After all they pretty much just destroyed the Exile faction. As soon as city guilds start killing raid mobs, you're going to see that no one will want to go exile anymore for raiding. That leaves FFA PvP (which is nice, but *NOT* why I exiled) and um... nothing? As the reasons for exiling. Even with the exiled guilds generally being the best and furthest ahead progression wise, I highly doubt that people are going to exile just so they can kill Trakanon as well as all the other stuff they can kill in a faction anyways.

Welcome to the City of .  It's been rehashed that exile is still viable, just not the most appealing anymore.  Exiles can do the Guild Hall thing, right?  City players exiling to change classes have to pay as well, and those doing so to have all classes in their raids are going to predominantly be from the cities, where they didn't have that option previously.   So it's not like it's being done to spite exile.  It's just not being changed.  Perspective, it's all about from where you're standing. While I agree with your 'perspective' comment, I totally disagree with your premise that exile is still viable. To compete in FFA PvP(the reason we all went exile SMILEY, you need gear. To get gear, you have to raid. To raid you need 24-30 people dedicated to killing the mobs. Sometimes those players leave, for whatever reason. With the factions being given all classes, there is no longer a reason to exile. Therefore no recruits, therefore no raiding once enough people have left and therefore no way to compete in the FFA PvP that we all exiled for. It's like a series of dominos (not the dev, that would be awesome) all lined up. Sure, you only knocked the first one over, but all those other ones were knocked over because of it.

So while this change didn't destroy the faction directly, it certainly will indirectly bring about it's end. I'm not sure why you can't see this, maybe its another perspective thing. All the devs had to do was give us (exiles, people who left the cities and gave up alot of gear to get one thing) a free trip back to a city, or access to the perks of a city (give and take and what-not) and there'd be no complaints (from us).

The desired result is to see almost all players alligned with a city. Give exiles (hell, everyone) the ability to go back to a city without losing their masters and you'll reach that result alot faster and without alienating alot of players.

I don't want to get into the recruiting debate, other than to say that chances are, a lot of players will abandon their city guild if they get an invite from the top one or two exile raiding guilds, assuming that they keep the same sort of an advantage in progression.  Hell, one of the bigger and more aggressive city guilds on Nagafen just lost one of its guild leaders to an exile guild, so recruiting probably isn't going to be this inevitable morass that eventually sucks in all the exile raiding guilds.  Just some of the smaller ones, which may end up merging.  I can't help but chuckle when I see somebody else get their mythical and the 70-80 chat is flooded with "Who?"; must be from all the PvPers that exiled for FFA PvP. SMILEY  As for giving up a lot of gear to exile, you mean players that exiled after getting PvP gear?  I assume they didn't destroy it, and could go back to a city and wear it if they so chose?  Don't mind me, I'm just playing devil's advocate; I already told you where I stood on the Master's issue, so despite the fact that we're in disagreement way more often than in agreement, there are a couple of things we don't disagree on.

One exile guild already appears to be breaking up and I suspect 2 more may be looking pretty ugly in about 8 days. VV seems to be holding up well even with davram stepping down after 3 years. We still 1 or 2 pulling trak and byzola and got the server first on milyex 2.1 today. Its getting nerfed in the next few days, because its too hard supposedly, so we may be the only ones to kill it.
