OMG........easy way out Sony.......Listen up!!!

Post the release date of the LU to be MAY 20, 2008......that gives you a few more months!!!  Expectations are set for MAY now SMILEY<img src= Weeee SMILEY<img src=

WHEN and IF you get everything set and decide to release on say, April 3, 2008...you can post that info like 2 days beforehand and say something like "Our crew has been working extra hard to get our players this LU BEFORE the actaul scheduled date, Kudos to our crew!"

OMG........So much fun there SMILEY<img src= Weeee SMILEY<img src=

Yeah, I know.......won't work, but the idea was funny as all get out SMILEY<img src= LOL

Misread it the first time.  Reread it.  nvm.  I thought it said 'the date is not set in stone'  when it said 'the date was not then set in stone.'

Ok, well, my mistake.

(Im still not mad at ya Grim...but I AM very anxious to see this update!)  I'll get mad at the dog instead (that's legal, right?)

wasnt it bruce that said late january in an interview? not sure.

and i would rather them release the content so we could test it ourselves. We all know the horrible job soe does at testing, and were going to end up pointing to the fixes anyway. I mean, we did this with claymore, had to pm the devs every step of the way to tell them where to fix what. No difference here.

I agree 100%!  In the other thread people have been crying all day about no communication and now they're whining that we have some.......it's a GAME people!  It's meant to be FUN ... crap happens just like in the real world and who wants a release that's full of bugs?

Nobody, so please 'ease up' on the idea that people want the LU live now regardless of bugs.Other than a small minority (who are complaining that the Epic's should have been in RoK anyway) I'm sure most people just want Sony to communicate better in the future, and that means telling us stuff in advance. When the 'big man' says the LU is gonna slide a couple of days, tell us then, not two hours after everybody expected it to be live.  Sure 'last minute' things happen, but two hours after it was expected (by the players at least) to go live isn't a last minute decision, 1 minute before live is last minute, this was 120 minutes after expected live.

The real funny thing about all this is that the people crying are going to get LESS communication from SOE about tentative patch dates because i can garauntee that the french community rep and whomever else will never post another tentative date again.

Really if i was a community rep my next response to someone who is askign when a LU is TENTATIVELY scheduled will be "Look at the network status page".

If your lucky you will get the LU notice the night before.

Actualy i heard thats the lack of communication tally chart. each time theres a failure to inform the community of something another needle gets added. (Thats the 3rd dog this year, seems they keep running out of space)

All tthis comes down to is frustration at the fact we were only told the LU does not hapen now AFTER people expected it to go live. there are a lot of folks out there booked precious time off work to alow us to enjoy this new content, myself included. i now have a few days off that are totally wasted and i wont be able to get back for whenever they really do go live (was it a typo? did that french dev mean Feb 5th 2009?).

Yup. Ugly eh? Poor thing.RE: Deleting the note about the 5th.That post didn't even make it outside of the first working day before it was removed. It was posted, one of the people who was working on the update saw it and asked us to remove it, and since it hadn't even been there for more than an hour, it was removed (as inaccurate data). So it didn't last long, but it lasted long enough. One of the rules of the Internet is that once you post it, it's out there -- and we clearly forgot that one with this; but it wasn't deleted today, or this week, and wasn't in response to any of this. It was in attempt to prevent people from thinking that the 5th was the 'absolutely sure to happen' date. Yes, going forward we will just correct the date in the thread in which it was posted (not edit and replace, but post to clarify). That noted, I'd ask that everyone watch the 'News and Announcements' forum for official release dates on updates. That's going to be the first place we go to share the date; whenever it is (for any update).

All of you crack me up, no mater what SoE does you will find somthing to complain about. If they where to release the update today and somthing was wrong you would all sit here and comment on how poorly SoE did and should have put it in test longer. If they dont put it out soon enough you complain its taking to long. Maybe today was the date, and somone was on test and noticed somthing huge that was wrong, they decide to take another week or two to make this update come out smooth.

Either way all of you will find somthing to complain about!!! Just let them do there job and not criticize them, so they can make an update that has few bugs in it.

Here we go again...If it needs more time to fix we don't mindIt's telling us 2 hours after we expected it to go live. It's like the Pizza company calling you back 40 minutes after you placed the order to tell you it won't arrive in 20 minutes... you already know... you just want to know when your pizza is gonna arrive, any clue at all would be nice... but instead your told deadlines change and that particular phone rep should not have promised 20 minutes... blah blah blah excuses excuses, you get off the phone realising that you still don't know when your pizza is gonna turn up, you just know your starving!Get the picture now? They can delay until 2009 if they want, just don't leave us hanging on waiting for information.

Did you read what Grimwell said?  They tried to do damage control, but said it wasn't enough.  The speculation of it released on the 5th was removed in under an hour, but, as he said it was out there.I guess it's like they say, arguing on the internet and all...

Well- Despite what Grim said, it took much longer than an hour for them to delete it. I know for a fact that I saw it several hours after it had been linked on EQ2Flames.It was probably less than an hour after it was *reported*, and I appreciate where Grim is coming from, but still- They knew the community en masse believed the GU was going live today. Anything said is covering their own [I cannot control my vocabulary] for what was done and knowing that most players will not do anything over what happened.(Not that I don't fully understand how it could have happened, but still.)[Edit-Although, I am intensely curious as to why they ignore the issue that they either A.) KNEW the playerbase was expecting GU42 today. or B.) Don't know ANYTHING of what the playerbase is talking about in the least. Because it's not like this hasn't been mentioned repetitively in pretty much every area since it became common 'knowledge']

The hour I doubt, as I personally found the French post a day or so after it was posted.I agree that it wasn't enough, when everybody started chattering about Feb 5th (and we're talking in these forums which are moderated by Grimwell and his team, not the internet) a statement should have been made, somewhere prominent like the LU preview perhaps?Anyway I'm done arguing for the day, I'm off to bed.If you don't get it by now you never will.

I recommend to everyone who is feeling animated on this issue to calm down. Yes, we were expecting the LU today. Yes, a SOE rep posted it. However, it was already explained that it was removed and the information has been corrected as best as possible. No one will argue that they probably should have corrected the information instead of just deleting it. Hopefully the lesson has been learned. However, harping on it further is entirely unnecessary.

I look at things as such...

Everyone (well at least a great marjority of the playerbase) was expecting 42 to be rolled out today. Without a real statement saying that it wasn't by another one of the devs after it was made, people took it to heart.

With this being pushed back even farther, you are basically stalling out those in top tier guilds waiting because they need the epic weapons to kill trak or whatever.

If the Epics weren't going to come out til this long after release, then I think a lil coding should have been done to down it to where trak could have been killable with someone without their epics. But as of now, all you're doing is basically doing a "Neener neener" from a 30 ft. slick stone wall at people trying to get to ya.

Hmm Monty Python comes to mind there. Anyone got a holy hand grenade?

Misread it the first time.  Reread it.  nvm.  I thought it said 'the date is not set in stone'  when it said 'the date was not then set in stone.'

Ok, well, my mistake.

(Im still not mad at ya Grim...but I AM very anxious to see this update!)  I'll get mad at the dog instead (that's legal, right?)

wonder how mant times we can put a box in a box in a box. realy looking forward to update btw when was it agin?
