Every time they add something RP and fun to the game, people come out in DROVES saying "OMG Y CANT U FIX THINGS INSTEAD OF ADDIN WURTHLESS CRAP!!11".Every. Single. Time. There will ALWAYS be something broken in the game, no matter how many devs you throw at it. That's just how persistent world games are. That's why they probably have separate teams working on bugs and fun tweaks. If they put ALL the devs on fixing just bugs, balance issues, etc., the game would be dull, boring, and worthless.I'm sure this update will go live with a ton of fixes, and not everything will be addressed, as usual, so not everyone will be 100% happy. Then they add something fun in the update after that, and once again, people will be whining about how every single person who works for SOE should be working on every little bug or other bothersome issue in the game at all times, and devs will continue to ignore those complaints, since they are more than likely already working on the issues being complained about. And the cycle will continue on and on and on, for as long as MMORPGs exist.Anyways, hooray for Frostfell! Happy Frostfell to all! Can't wait to get my tag on... :smileyvery-happy:

I understand everyone is dying for the Estate of Unrest....but didn't they already state that it was going to be so large they were going to make it an Adventure Pack?...I know it may make a lot of people unhappy but if it was stated that yes, it would be, it'd end a lot of the speculation about someo f the contents of LU #30. :smileywink:

Ok, I think now would be the perfect time for this announcement...I call dibs on the term Faeggot! So, any time any of you use this term, you'll need to send a small royalty fee of 5s to my Plippy Figwigglin on AB.  Also, please note that ONLY I can use the trademark symbol on the term, as in...Hey, Faeggot ™!Got that?!?lol

I agree that all the bugs will never be fixed but from where I'm standing it dosn't even look like they are trying.

Sorry I find it stupid when people give feedback, when it's asked, and someone seemingly gets vexed at them. Maybe they should have called the thread Game Update #30 Preview Compliments?

There's a big difference between feedback and general whining. There's also a difference between feedback on the proposed update, and general whines about stuff not included in the update that you personally think should be included. Way too many posts in threads like this basically read "why are you wasting your time on crap other people might want, and not fixing the obviously more important stuff I want"!   Talk about moronic and selfish.

How selfish of me that I wan't bugs fixed. Next thing you know I might want the end game properly itemized or the combat system to work. If a selfish bastige /suicide

I don't give a rats [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] about new content and live events I want them to spend their time fixing the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] thats been broken for MONTHS and all the crap they broke with LU 19 , um I mean 29.

Yes how selfish of you to think that YOUR perspective is the only one that matters! I could give a rat's azz about a few piddly bugs that don't affect my personal game play. I want new content, I like the new scenery. Obviously YOU are the only one that can qualify "properly itemized", I suppose the stuff I've seen drop is somehow improper...

Please do everyone a favor and quit playing MMOs period. They'll never meet your superior sence of completion and honestly all your rants and whines do is dilute the channels and prevent good player/dev communication from happening.

What of this, exactly, were you expecting us to discuss? Do you feel that this is addressing the current concerns and interests of the community, and is therefore in some way intended to be helpful?

Im sure the itemization in the wailing caves is just fine. Now run along and play.

It's an argument between pot and kettle!

With just a few tweaks...

From where I'm sitting, both sides of the fence have their selfish players.

Bad Mojo.... the difference is that some people come right out and hate on other peoples changes. I'm not saying I WANT SoE to ignore other peoples complaints for my own, I'm saying that when they make changes that simply don't benefit you as much as others, you don't ridicule those changes simply becasue  they don't benefit you. There's a difference between our arguments. I'm not being selfish by simply being appreciative of whats being offered to people that want  it, vs simply being spiteful towards changes that I don't directly benefit from.

Wow, the last 5 pages is why I dont come to the boards much because there is very little useful information that can be plucked out of all the kiddo whinning and threats to take their ball home. The last few generations have lost all sense of dignity and have no comprehention of how to interact with people.

I understand, and that makes perfect sense.  I think the hate comes from frustration that we were invited to give feedback on an "update" that is nothing more than a new trial system that incorporates the Fae and the now standard holiday event (albeit with a little twist as far as tag goes).

I think when people read the thread title, they expected an actual update along the lines of the usual updates - with bits of additional content and bug fixes rolled into one package that furthers the game - instead it's a temporary event of which we saw most of it last year, and a bump to the trial system (which affects non-paying folks that don't already play EQ2 more than it does the paying customers of which I'd bet most already own EoF).  Combine that with the things that have been hot topics for (IMO) far too long, and it breeds animosity.

It's really the same old thing, a few years ago when quite a few of the classes were plagued with broken CA's and spells, people watched update after update roll by with no mention of any progress being made on fixing things.  It's all in whether you expect the term "update" to mean an update to the state of the game, or to mean an update to the content... This update is the latter and some have been expecting the former for quite some time.  Maybe this isn't the place to voice their concerns, but I think here they know their voice is being heard, as opposed to posting in the appropriate threads where you never know if a Dev is going to happen along or not.

   !!MERRY FROSTFELL!!
Wow, a game can make people behave in this manor.  It really is one powerful game!
What if SOE closed the doors right now?   Shut everything down and said  "You're right people!  We are full of bugs and we willingly stand corrected!   Our content needs a number of improvements, perhaps more than we can please you with fast enough!  We aren't good enough anymore, and we can't take the constant critisism and complaining that we are receiving.  We are sorry to say we are announcing THE END to your best dreams and worst nightmares!  You can now all relax, enjoy life, and stop cluttering your minds with what we have failed so miserably at trying to offer you!

THE END!

Then you could all stop whining and crying over what they are working so hard to correct.  Then you could stop spending endlesss days waisting your time sitting here writing these messages and get out some!  Maybe get an education!  Oh oh I know!  Learn to program computers!!!   Then one day get a job with a big company ~ like Sony!   And help them try to please the world and all it's people who want to sit all day and/or night and play games just so they can log into the forums and whine and cry about how imperfect the game is!!  I'm sure Sony could always use another good programmer/writer/employee.  Go on, try it!  What's the matter?  Like the game too much to get up off that chair and not play it?  But hate that it isn't as perfect as ~ what? who? you?  Certainly not me, I am nowhere near perfect.  Are you?  If so, please, do go get an education and work for SOE because if you can do better we would all thank you.  Or would we?  I think most of you would continue to think of things you could and would do better if only...

Personally I'm glad the Frostfell Season is upon us ~ as it seems to me we all could use a little cheer in our attitudes and warmth in our hearts!  Do try as hard as it may seem, to enjoy this Holiday Season and the happiness it is supposed to spread to all!  Even though a little bit of Scrooge exists somewhere in each of us, also in there is a little child, the one who drives you to play games...the one who loves gifts...and suprises!  You know ~ that one!

Merry Frostfell to SOE and to all of it's happy and unhappy customers!

5 out of your 9 posts are asking for improvements or complaining about broken stuff.  I'm glad you turned yourself around and decided that it's best to accept the game as is, and put faith into SOE fixing it without the need to discuss it on the forums!  Maybe more folks will do the same and this will be a happier place SMILEY

And Merry Frostfell back at ya! SMILEY

You reading the same 9 posts I was?  'Cause all I saw was a person giving feedback, asking for assistance or giving support to an improvement.   All without degrading into the whole (censored) after (censored) bit that seems to be the way some of these posts are going ..

Meanwhile, everyone needs to "chill" a bit.  This thread isn't really asking for feedback like a beta or test program.  It's simply a place to say give your thoughts directly related to the "tidbites" they are showing in the preview.  That's all.   And, very small "tidbites" they gave us in this preview.  That could mean this won't be much of a LU other than the Holiday event or Raijinn just rushed his Preview and grabbed the easiest things he could to post about without getting into too much trouble.

While I don't think there will be any new class hats in this LU and I have no clue as to which bug will or won't get fixed, we don't KNOW everything that is going to be in LU#30, even using the Test Update Notes won't give you a 100% clear view of a LU.  There are always things they have tested internally and throw at us at the last minute as a surprise or as a "nerf".

*shrug* Some days all you can do is roll with the punches in a MMO.

Meanwhile .. MERRY FROSTFELL!

*Kaisha throws a 12month old Snowball at the Next Person to Post*   Tag!  You're IT!

I never said anything about degrading into a (censor) fest, on the contrary, he posted in appropriate threads in appropriate forums, which is good.

1) Complaint that encounters could be more class specific and HO's aren't working - http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=splitsaga&message.id=7473#M7473

2) Books should not count as inventory - http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=housing&message.id=21713#M21713

3) Hardware complaint - http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=102148#M102148

4) Throwing in support for a "change race" quest - http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=echoesoffaydwer&message.id=5998#M5998

5) Character Transfer complaint - http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=193870#M193870

I'm not seeing the difference between asking for improvements, lodging complaints, and providing negative feedback here and there... Except for (as I mentioned) that this really isn't the thread for it.  The griping and so on, pretty much everybody does... I do it, you do it, everybody.  By all means point out that people need to "chill" out as far as this thread goes... But to say that they should go get an education and some fresh air?  That's nailing them for complaining in general, and if you live in a glass house....

Agreed, I think the posting is in here because it was started by a red name and people are clamoring to get their say in a place where it may be read - though since I don't forsee any replies to any of them, it's probably a waste of energy.

How can they expect feedback on content that hasn't even been implemented yet?  They don't even give enough details on this topic to give informed feedback.  So the logical discourse is to discuss things we do have an opinion on and that would be the current state of the game.  Whether that be current content, current mechanics, current bugs.....ect.....blah....blah.....blah.

Oh my god... I really cannot stand even the thought of a race change quest. First of all, I can see no possible way to work that into the lore. Second, race doesn't matter that much!! Only real drifference is the racial traditions, (And those don't even have a huge effect on gameplay. Fae are an exception, I mean their racial abilites are best in-game at the moment.) and possibly how high you can see in first-person view.

Complaints are why things get fixed.  So keep complaining. Atleast 1 out of 100 people have a decent complaint.  So heres my complaint. Sony dont tell some one they have preview of a live update, and theres nothing there about the preview.  People want to betray the fae. allmost all evil classes out dps the good ones. whats the deal with that. why would u not want to betray the fae. How hard is it to fixe up a betray quest.  Why leave your players in the dark. why take live ingame support away. How about just not be cheap and hire some moor people.last of all it would be nice if u guys could reply to the fourms with some new info on  live update 30.

AND TO THE PEOPLE BASHING PEOPLE FOR COMPLAING THATS WHAT THIS THREAD SO THE PLAYERS CAN TELL SONY WHAT THEY WANT. SOME PEOPLE THINK THIS IS SONYS GAME ITS NOT. EQ2 IS THE PLAYERS GAME. THEY RUN IT EVERYDAY.  ITS NOT HAVE SONY TELL YOU WHAT U WANT.

Please do allow me to straighten some things out here.  First and foremost, I have never whined, fussed or cried to SOE about any game content.  This is a game that we as customers support and we all have a right to notify SOE if there is faulty content or errors that need correcting.  Many issues aren't even known until they are contacted by us about it.  This makes it necessary to communicate to them so that there is knowledge of the needs for repair.  Freedom of speech is a right we all have here.  Not considering or simply forgetting that those who are supplying us with this game are doing all they can to improve it, as quickly as I'm sure they are trying to, saddens me.  I am no judge of anyone for any reason, and am not doing so.  I share my feelings only when I feel I want to say something.  In 2 1/2 years that's not been too often or in eccess, so I think I'm justified in the few posts I have made. I  look to no one for approval or acceptance.  I am merely a girl who wishes and wants to spread a little cheer this season to those whom I feel may need it.  In a section where I feel it is appropriate and perhaps overly needed.  That's all, that's me . . . it's who I am.  Here to spread  a little cheer maybe, or help to give a new perspective perhaps.  Oh and I do like to make people think!  Thinking is good, I don't care what anyone says!

So once again,  *Merry Frostfell ~ Merry EVERYDAY that you can!! *    And Happy Wing Fluttering!   :smileyvery-happy:

Sounds nice.  No, tell me what I REALLY want will be in LU30.  A return of the character transfer service.  I quit just after KOS came out because i made a horrible horrible mistake.  I transferred servers to join a friend but it turned out to NOT be worth it.  I left people on my old server that I really enjoyed playing with.  Lesson learned.  I lost interest due to this and not having the coin to pay to transfer back, I quit.  About a week ago I returned and started playing again.  Decided the best thing to do is transfer back to my old server, but to my dismay I can't.  They broke it.  I am rapidly losing interest again.  I really need to transfer my characters back to my old server. Please fix the character transfer service and reopen it with LU30?  How about that for a Frostfell present?  Oh and fix other stuff too.

I loved Frostfell last year, and I am looking forward to it again this year!   The music boxes were great!  I"ve got new characters on The_Bazaar server now, and I want them to have the music boxes as well.  The Candy Box "Tag You're It" game sounds like fun.  I still have snowballs from last year (amazing!  They didn't melt in the bank! [Removed for Content]) ... looking forward to that again!

I could NOT care LESS about fae's betraying!  Sheesh!  Fae's shouldn't be evil anyway, in my opinion.  I'd like to see the new zone opened for all those who are of "evil" persuasion, so they can all quit whining about fae's betraying from Kelethin!  Sheesh!  If'n ya don't like being "good" .. then go live where you can be evil and leave us in peace!  So I'm hoping SoE will get that new zone up for them whinin', complainen' P&M evil guys ASAP!

When, oh WHEN, will SOE make it possible for us to actually SIT in the chairs, and LAY DOWN on the beds!  Sheesh!!! (without playing dead and being a monk)!!
