i can't hit play though until the additional stuff has been downloaded in the patcher. ok. i'm going to let the launcher download the stuff again. security looks off to me, so it should go to the right place, pro tools stuff is off, so maybe it'll start. fingers crossed, here i go again. (presses eq2 icon....) back in a few hours when it's downloaded.

just a point, it seems a shame that you can't send me the object definitions file (which my comp says is corrupted) instead of having to re-download all those patch files. or am i missing something- does it mean the whole downloaded patch is corrupt?

SNIFF..... SOB.... It came up with the error again. downloaded the files, press play, launcher disappears, desktop for about 10 seconds, then the same error message. object loader failed... (refer to first post for full message). ..... I'm not sure what to do now...

so if i run the 'everquest 2.exe' file, that goes straight to the program, it comes up with the object error and if i launch the desktop icon, it just starts downloading the icon_asf files onward.

I finally got it working!!! I had to completely uninstall protools, and it worked. i'm running it on very high quality too.. looks very sweet. I might create a partition on my drive, and install a dedicated version of xp, just for eq2, so I can reinstall protools, as i need it. Thanks gareth for all of your help

I have a question in regards to this... is this always going to be the official response to this issue "Uninstall Protools", or is there effort being made (by anyone, I don't care whether SOE or Avid) to resolve this issue?? I'm a tad miffed, though I understand blame may not be clear-cut here...
