It seems PvP is going to kill this game. All you balance cows cry about is class balance and something being overpowered. Well guess what? RP is not balanced and it never should be. Ever stop to think that's why you have different classes? But then again it is the balance arrogant cows that ruin games time and time again.How were we going to see a nerf coming? How? So in other words we should never try to better our classes because of balance issues? What's next SK and Pally nerfs because harm tough and lay on hands is over powered? Come on guys!At the least go back to the way the rings were prior LU19. Much better than this super nerf!Do not change PvE because of PvP. SOE seems to have problems doing PvP. PvP was a problem is SWG and it's seems to be a problem in EQ2.I noticed you balance cows never addressed my points about our servers merging and WoW growing. When is the last time WoW merged a server? EQ2 and WoW are about the same age and WoW is killing EQ2 with player base. SOE should pay attention to what they do because unlike the EQ1 days they have competition. They can not afford to screw over more players. Refer to SWG SOE!SOE SWG is a flop(one must ask how did SOE drop the ball on STAR WARS!) and EQ2 was very bad when it was released. The game is much better now but it seems SOE can not leave well enough alone.At least WoW can help us out some. If SOE pays attention to WoW's player base vs. EQ2 they are shamed. Does SOE really care about the players or do they cow down to these loud cry baby nerf balance cows? I played WoW and love it and I love EQ2. I must say that Blizzard does a much better job then SOE when it comes to the games. Blizzard adds to classes(example the Warrior fix and the many other class adds) and SOE nerfs classes instead of adding to the class.But anyway my points will fall on deaf ears and I figure some uppity balance happy cow will flame me.

Dremias, if George Lucas himself could wreck Star Wars, you gotta figure SOE could, too :smileytongue:On the whole I have really liked (or not cared about either way) most of the changes made in the live updates, but I, along with SO many other people, have invested a lot into the rings since the last update. I definitely did think they would fix them since they really are way overpowered, but I really, really hated having to cast my rings every 30 minutes, so I love that was no longer needed. As a fix (or 'nerf' if you're a negative nancy), I was expecting just a lowering of the stat bonus to something more reasonable. Heck, I'd even let them stack... just make the ability bonus not so crazy-high.Consider some of the healer-oriented 'trash' fabled items you get from Scornfeather Roost--- the fabled +15 WIS ring is made useless now, as the Aegis Of Scorn shield was made useless when the imbued t6 bucklers got the WIS bonus they had previously been missing. All those are good for now is backup equipment for raids.

i dont care what anyone else says... but +32int for a ring isnt over balenced if they dont stack... stacking is where they screwed up on the rings... but SOE has a habbit of screwing the crafters in favor of loot attained gear... case in point... SWG and NGE

![]() Hey hey hey now calm down adventurers, they didn't do this to screw you get real. They did it to screw crafters to make them truely the bottom of the barrel so your fabled item that you get from a 30 minute instance run can be SO much better or heck even the thing you get off a named that respawns every 20 minutes in non-instance zones. So in other words adventurers , it was your own whining about crafted stuff that got you this nerf. Congratulations, are we all happy now? Didn't think so. |

![]() I hate to say it but I agree with the ring nerf on some level. What I don't agree with is he knee jerk reaction that seems to be happening here. I don't know why they were ever touched to begin with but SOE has already made a moderately bad situation into a horribly bad situation. Game balance must be preserved obviously but changing these almost entirely to a new item is simply not the best option. It would be a good idea to really think about the solution this time before simply rushing it out to Live. I'm not sure what the best plan is but I'm sure that you pay people to come up with these things. IMHO any change needs to take the original function of these rings into consideration. Turning the rings into something completely different is a sure way to upset the maximum number of people. CA based procs is a terrible idea as it isn't even remotely similar to the original function of the rings. Other than the # of stats on the ring and the stacking, what is honestly wrong with them now? It would seem wiser to simply rebalance the #'s on the rings, eliminate the stacking and stop toying with them. While I know many will be upset no matter what the final change is, I can only politely ask that the change is well reasoned, final and the most minor adjustment that can be made to restore the balance. My toon on test server got killed by a Qeynos WillowWood guard for rezzin someone dead on the docks.. LOLAnd she is a good froglok! Wish we had some warning like dont rezz this person ! hehe..Now she's afraid to go to WW...Finnianna..Oh BTW my main on Urest would REALLY appreciate Sony NOT doing 580 degree turns on changes on the Rings...If you are gonna change something STICK with it or WAIT until all the Ramifications have been THOUGHT OUT!!!!Sciari

I would like to see the betrayal quest at any lvl and give the paladins more Hp/MItigation buffs so they can solo/group a little better =) Like back in EQ1 that would be awsome.

umm the ring thing has been beaten to death. They made the best rings in game just about obselete, nuff said. They could hvae been kept as buffs but the worn effect was unbalancing by teir/gear standards. dont whine that ya bought a few after they made the change cause ya would have boughten them anyhow or used better (well what used to be better) like ring of fate. i had sta and agi as clicky effects cause they obviously didnt stack and when they changed em to stack, i would have much rather had the 2agi, i didnt whine OMG GIMME MY PP BACK. But then again i quickly realised it would be changed, and it was. I still dont even like that theyre' procs. theyw ere fine before =p

![]() and the teleporter, hard? well it should be.. umm it is prismatic and it was the hardest dungeon in the game pre dof. So.... seriously it needs to be made easier? smack in the face to everyone who has made that run 100x over. I didnt even suport the porter in lava. More convienient, sure.. but if everything in the game was convienient theyd start us w/ 1000pp.

![]() nerfing the imbued rings just plain is terriable...not only does everyone that purchased one bite the big bullet on the worth of the rings now...but US jewelers jsut lost the best handmade jewelery peices we could make. NO one will want these now. I made every single imbued ring for people to order....I made them with pride knowing that the t6 imbued rings ..and all the others also were one of the best things i could make for someone...now it is all gone. I also own and have attuned a few of these myself...so i am no t hapy that I will also lose my 2 plat per ring...plus because my gear is not the best, I relied on those rings for stats boosts so i could almost get close to my caps on stats..now that is gone as well..I am one very irraite master jeweler and conjurer. OK the ring changes are aweful. Why cant we just go back to the way they were? I didnt have a problem with clickign to get a buff. I agree getting 44 int off two rings is kinda high, but lucky for me i already had them anyway and didnt loes any money. but doing this will make them useless for me. Make them back to clicky buffs please!

hmmm....SK's (can't speak for Pally's) could use a wee bit more hate generation, make it a choice or a racial ability - being a healer switching between a 54 SK and a 54 Swashy to heal because of aggro issues gets to be a regularly mousing excercise.The guards can be attacked.... all I want to know is when can I kill the fraggin FSR rat in the Crossroads...........I don't understand the Ranger changes... unnecessaryand yes I do play on test.

![]() Not a big fan of PvP and don't plan to participate. I do have a blast in the arena though. I also love the fact that i'll be able to go into FP and kill some guards, and actually look forward to seeing some evil toons doing the same over on the good side. I am in favor of PvP if I could ONLY attack evil toons if they are in combat with guards from my home city. Another idea would be two opposing factions which depending on your status, determine whether or not one can be attacked. Both ideas would create a PvP environment w/in a non-pvp environment and allow individuals to choose. |
