We're working on getting through all of the submitted tickets and making recommendations.  For our Russion players you do need to contact Akella.

I've had a couple of good days with no issues... until this morning. The very first time I log in this morning it loaded my character into the guild hall where I was camped out at and instantly ( right about when the welcome window should pop up ) it throws me out of the game and back to the character select screen.

I just got stuck zoning into the felwithe mansion. I let it sit for 10 minutes just to be sure.

I had to click exit to get the game to close.

LP4 was closed.

I was running my computer with all startup programs disabled, as was suggested to me via my /petition.

Game crashed when zoning out of Longshadow Alley into Freeport.

I had a popup window that said : Eq2 Game Client encountered an error and needs to shut down.

LP4 was open and it closed on it's own when the game crashed.

Had to restart LP4 to log back into the game.

Game got an error this morning zoning out of Temple Street in Freeport.

LP4 shut down when the game closed.

I had to restart LP4 to log back into the game.

PS - I'm just curious as to why all of these crashes, getting stuck zoning and the game shutting down randomly for no apparent reason has been going on ever since AoD went live and seems to come and go for some folks? I have never had this much trouble in the 7+ years that I have been playing this game as I have had since December 2011 when AoD was released. I have not changed anything at all on my computer yet the problem seems to be getting worse and happening to more and more people. I see folks in our guild dropping daily when zoning and see folks complaining about it openly in chat channels almost everyday.

Game got stuck on zoning into Qeynos.

I closed the game via the exit on the zoning screen after guildies told me via voice chat that it showed that my character had logged out in guild chat.

LP4 was closed.

Had to reopen to log back into the game.

The connection issues from this weekend should be resolved but if you are having any new issues or contuing issues from prior to this past weekend please let us know right away.  The most appropriate form of contact is any of our direct contact methods but I'll do my best to go through outstanding issues here as well as time permits.

Thank you so much for the replies Joshua and for keeping an eye on the forums when you have time. I know that you have a lot going on and I want you to know that I definately appreciate your help.

I played all day today off and on and most of yesterday and have not had any issues with getting dropped or getting stuck zoning. Everything was smooth like old times. I will keep you posted if anything new arises.

Thanks again,

Glenedhel

I guess that I spoke too soon.

I just got stuck 'waiting for zone server' zoning into my house in Neriak.

I had to press Exit and restart the game.

When i tried to log on today, on one of my crafters to do my daily, i got booted back to character select three times, then it wouldnt let me log in at all. Restarted and got booted again, to finally have it let me in and no issues since, that was this morning.

I just logged into the game for the first time today ...  and got dropped back to character select screen TWICE in a row. I am now in the game for about two minutes.

LP4 was Open, and stayed Open both times.

It seems zoning seems to hang at times or just doesn't zone ... An exit and relog seems faster sometimes.

Been playing all day with no trouble until 5 minutes ago, roughly 6:45pm est. I zoned to Everfrost and got dropped instantly to the desktop. No error, no character select, nothing, just *poof*

LP4 closed and had to be restarted.

I logged back in and instantly got booted back to the desktop a second time. Same as above, no errors, no character select... just *poof*

LP4 again closed. I restarted it to log back in.

I log into the game and start heading to where I wanted to go and I get a pop-up window saying that my username and password are incorrect and the game closes down.

LP4 once again had to be started and I just now logged back in for the 4th time ... waiting to see what happens now.

Out of curiousity, do you experience this at all if you launch everquest2.exe directly (bypassing the launchpad all together)?

It's funny that you mention that ...

I logged in today doing just that. I used the .exe to log in directly and only ran LP4 once to check for any updates ahead of time.

I did not have any issues playing today.

I will continue to log in using the .exe over the next few days and will post my results.

Please do, I am curious if this affects the client/could be a possible source of your issues.

Well I thought we had finally narrowed the issue, or one of them anyhow, and I was just about to post this morning about it when I just now got stuck waiting for the zone server while zoning into my Felwithe house

Other than getting stuck waiting for the zone server this morning .... I have not been using LP4 at all to log in. I've run it to check for any updated files then closed it and have been using the .exe to launch the game ( using a shortcut I put on the desktop ). I have not been dropped once, no random crashes and no getting stuck zoning - until this morning.

I will continue to not use the launcher and will post more here if I start to have any issues.

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to read this thread.

this is happening no matter if you launch by launchpad or .exe

as launchpad is broken and you cant switch accounts since last hotscrewup you can only start the game by .exe atm. i had 2 "client closing" since the last patch.

this came back after AoD. before that at least on my win7 machine i never had crit errors or clients closing. since then the win 7 machine randomly closes the client (you dont even have to do something. just standing around afk can cause it) and the xp machines i use have crit errors crashing 2-3 times a day. although before AoD you got 1 crit error window, now you get up to 6 of them.

my assumption athough not based on facts is what you screwed up again with AoD just causes xp to crit and Win7 handles the error differently and just closes the client. at least it seems to be the same reason (out of memory) where there is already a 1500+ post thread from (unsure, think 2008?)

what really amazes me is that during a raid evening half of the force goes ld/crit/closes at least one time. Everyone gets it every few days, often during zoning, almost certain when zoning into a guild hall after logged in / playing for an hour+ And you are still telling people you cannot reproduce the error. just take 10 pcs, log in a char, zone 10 times between major zones and call to a (average item filled) guild hall. Voila. i dont even use my guilds hall anymore except after logging on as its a definite client restart.

Guild halls do seem to be the worst. Houses are a close second. City of Freeport is a close third.

Unrecoverable error messages are few and far between, but do happen. Crashing on zoning happens 1 out of 10 to 12 times no matter where I'm going. Sometimes I'm standing there doing absolutely nothing and my client either locks up or just crashes to desktop on its own without warning or provocation, leaving my character in the world for several minutes until someone tells me I'm out and can log back in. The last happens at least twice in a 4 hour raid period.

To top it off, the lag has been -ridiculous.- Like pulling avatars on AB during prime time in the TSO era ridiculous- the worst culprits for me being Drunder raid zones, guild halls, and City of Freeport.

Like the above poster said, it seems no one is immune. During a 4 hour raid period we'll have no less than 8 people randomly crash throughout the night, sometimes multiple times. It leads to a lot of down time as we wait for their character to actually leave the game, wait for them to log back in, wait for the initial "OMG you just logged in" lag spike to clear up, and pull again.

All of this has been happening to me since the launch of AoD. While it has gotten better than it was when the xpac first released (I was getting booted once every 3 to 5 times I zoned and would randomly crash to desktop at least that many times in a 4 hour raid period on top of it), its still beyond infuriating for the issues to persist this long with no real solutions and, seemingly, no real acknowledgement that it is an issue.

I exclusively use the .exe method of logging in because using the launchpad means computer resources are hogged for at least a half hour after I close the launchpad and makes the game practically unplayable for that half hour. I only use the launchpad after an update to get the update (I run full mode and not streaming because streaming is a mess on its own), then restart my machine and log in using the .exe from then until until the next update to be downloaded.

Those of you experiencing this with guild halls/player housing specifically should contact support - there may be something else up, and we'd definitely like to seperate the wheat from the chaff here. Most likely out of memory problems, which can be resolved through alternate means.

To the user who could not petition in-game, probably just a problem with your browser, you can also use the link I posted above to contact in-game support.
