Are we expected to be level 1 when we finish the race? Should we level lock to make sure? Just asking in case some disco exp or a level 1 bug we have to squish on the way bumps us up a level. Would hate for someone to make accusations of using a higher level toon

No SMILEY  we assume that you will gain a level or two off of discovery experience.  The requirement is for you to be level 1 at the start of the race in Hate's Envy SMILEY

I just thought of something else

People could also use guild hall rally flags to get past mobs and slice some time off >.>

Or use the guild harvest bots

Or have conjy call them past mobs

Or have a friend harvest for them

Or have someone else kill mobs in the way

Wow I am mentally prepared for this event, already thinking the right mindset!

Anyways, just my two copper.

Aww, now that I logged on to translate the (well meant) displeasure into constructive criticism, Kiara was faster :/

Still, since I'm on now, here is the constructive criticism - since I will use some english words I have never used before in this context, I hope they are able to transport the message correctly: it really would be nice to see if you took the international community representatives closer into consideration when to announce an event, since it is somehow heart breaking to read that a cool event is going to take place, only to find out that the own home server isn't on the list.

A plain side note that it is considered to take place on the international servers as well would be a really cool thing, though I guess to make such an event of possibly epic proportions like the "Rat Race" possible it really needs more than one official person being online. A single community representative can't achieve this, unless this person had kind of demonic powers, which would be sort of uncool and cool at the same time. Almost as good as a ninja.

Still, since I have the US language version patched on my hard drive, I'm looking forward to participate.

Just create a Ratonga with starting city "Neriak" - you will automatically spawn at Hate's Envy.

ROFL I suspect the "scavenger" hunt will be items that u cannot pre-harvest. IOW, put in-game on an update just before, then "turned-on" the day of the server's hunt.

I also suspect speed will not be an advantage, since u will in all probability need to use ur rat brain to figure out the clues where the "object" might be located. Also, since u shall die a lot - that will detract from being speedy. LOL

This reminds me of the "Great WHAT Gnome Race" that our guild (former) put on about 1.5 yrs ago. Everyone in the guild who wanted to participate made a lvl 1 gnome, met in The Nursery (GFay) and ran through EoF including BBM, SF, LF, LP in a circuit. I never laughed so hard. The prizes included plat that was donated by various members plus other goodies like food/drink, expert spells for the first 10. Everyone was determined to finish - and that they did - all 20 some peeps. We did have spotters along the way and one who followed the final gnome!

I'm looking forward to the Great EQ2 Rat Scavenger Hunt! I don't care if I'm the last one in..... I'll prolly be laughing so hard throughout the entire time. I wonder how much XP debt I'll rack up!

Let me start by saying that I am madly in love with anyone and everyone who are helping this happen.

When my very first character was level 14, the server High Keep had a Rat Race in Commonlands that I watched run past.  It was the most amazing and hysterical thing, but then I kept waiting for another one to be announced so I could participate.  And after more than 3 years, through two server moves, it looks like I will finally get this particular desire satisfied.

Thank you.

Now, to my actual question.. will dead rats be resurrected at the spot of their untimely demise, or will it be 100% revive at the close revive point?

It really sucks that you do something that excludes those with all character slots full. Maybe you could make an automentor option that turns you into a rat for the race.  Do something to let those of us participate that have all slots full.

Erm...did I need to be on the server precisely at 5pm to start the race? If so, just a gentle reminder that people work on the West Coast until 5 so that's not exactly the best time to run a time-sensitive event. Considering that this game might skew slightly towards an older population, you might take that sort of thing into consideration. Thanks for offering it, though. I imagine the people who were able to participate enjoyed it.

There's no perfect time, ever, lol.  I couldn't make AB's today 'cause that's Junior's homework time.

Kiara and Amnerys from SOE's Community Relations team will be hosting these special events according to the schedule behind the cut.

So SOE has for every language an own Community Relation Team.. is that it? It's kinda difficult to find something in Kiara's Signature which would specify here for only one part of the EQ2 Playerbase..

First of all, may I say I hope you have a rat race, too. I truley do. I do notice that this forum, even on the server forum section does not list those two servers. As I understand it, they have a different forum for those servers and a different community manager, your own Kiara? So, that person will need to be the one to host a rat race?

You know I have 5 rat characters which are all not allowed to come to this race, first.. I'm on the wrong server.. second.. I don't want to delete them to match requirements.

Regarding these requirements... make a buff item with 1/1 charge which buffs the character to lvl 1, not able to use any of his spells and redflag every item which requires lvl 2 or higher. Let the xp and aa but block lvl up with the item so people will have after the race for example 300% xp and they will ding up when they cancel the buff.

In this way every rat can take a part in this race which would be more fun for everyone, I'm truly sure.

Will a trial account be usuable for this race? For those with no character slots open.

I have my rat ready to go, just a query for those who are full.

I didn't participate being that I have no more slots, but, that cheeze was a godsend when it came KiiaraSMILEY

I was in Darklight with the friend I got to join, we both had like 2 or 3 of the starter rations left when the cheese (bet you thought I forgot how to spell cheese) fell from the sky.

Good Job KiaraSMILEY

The Rat Race was great fun! Kiara and the guides rained fun goodies and prizes down on everyone, sometimes giving them out to the whole zone! So if the race sounds like fun to you, and you have no free slots, just show up anyway with one of your other characters, particularly if it's a Ratonga, and join the mayhem! Also, if you haven't put any characters on the test server yet, you can participate there. Players get a whole set of extra slots for the test server. It doesn't use your live server slots to play on test. The Test server Rat Race is scheduled for November 4th. Did we have an event photographer? All those ratties, the fireworks, the dancing... why didn't I take screenshots???!!! Ah, well. You know how it is. When you're having fun, you don't remember you have a camera. SMILEY

5:30 PM, not AM.  England is eight(seven during Daylight Savings) hours ahead of the Pacific Timezone.

That is correct.  The time was very carefully planned for Runnyeye and Splitpaw to hit at 5:30 PM GMT.

Runnyeye Update:  We are running a little bit late.  There was some rather ugly traffic (which translates to about 2 hours worth of sitting at a near standstill) due to an accident or two on the freeway.

I'm logging in right now SMILEY

I feel I have to point out that 10:30am PDT = 5:30pm GMT = 6:30pm BST (current london time) = 7:30pm CET (EU time)
