I'm yet to find an upgrade to the fishbone I like but I know stuff drops off the raid mobs so that's your best bet. For your slayers ring go buy a pristine imbued ruby ring of stamina not sure what the prices of rubies are at on your server but they usually are around 80g on guk. For a weapon you can probably manage with an imbued ebon long sword until you either get a raid drop or a prismatic, hope this helps

Plain ol dropped Ruby Rings would be upgrade to Ancients. They cheap(<10g) and/or easy to get. You would lose the ubah 3% haste from the ancients =P

![]() I'm still wearing the fishbone as well, because I have yet to see anything better that isn't a raid drop. Your Ancient Slayer's ring, yeah I wore that for a long time as well(seems all guardians do) because the stats on it are just too good to buy something with just a few more mitigation. However, I did just replace it with a common dropped ruby ring. Which still has the +9 stamina and a tad more mitigation and resists. But you do lose the 3% haste. Oh well, I wasn't too worried about it because I got an Aegis of Alacrity(20% haste) that dropped off the 1 group instance of the Maiden's Gulch...go figure...;p And for a weapon, I don't see the need to use an Ebon on an imbued weapon. I use the Bloodfire occasionaly, but 90% of the time I use the Screaming Mace. |

Looks aside, what do you guys think about cedar? Both cedar wands and clubs already have a better damage ratio than my ghoulbane and are considerably cheaper than ebon. Is the clicky on the cedar wand interruptable, and what is the recast time?

![]() I think those clicky wands are pretty much worthless for us. The cast time is 8 or 10sec, cant remember but 8-10sec is a long time. If im not mistaken, whenever our cast bar is active our weapons do not swing...so thats 10sec of no raw weapon dmg. Im pretty sure in 10sec I can do way more raw weapon dmg than what the clicky nuke does. Not to mention thats 10sec of not being able to do anything else either (i.e combat arts, etc). BUT the Imbued Cedar clubs, cudgles etc that have the DD proc on them are nice and a cheaper alternative to Ebon. |

The one group instance of Maiden's Gulch is the one yuo get access for by clicking the little key outside the zone on the right side. It's a small quest, kill a few things, then go forge the key in the Temple of Ro. Once you have access, you can go in there every 18 hours and do the instance. There are a few elementals surrounding the lava pit and a summoner on the ledge up top. Just skip all the non agro elementals and go up by the summoner. He will summon Lava Born. This guy is a joke. It's a one group instance, but we do it with 3 all the time...50 guard, 49 Fury, and 50 warlock. I am certain it can be done with less, but we run together so we always go in. He has only ever dropped the one master chest with that shield, but he drops rares a lot. I think it was just a freak accident I got that shield off of him.
And he is only like 47 or 48^^ with no friends. Unbelievably easy. Message Edited by shilosw on 06-09-2005 10:26 AM |
