Pets too slow after LU 17 Update

I have a 40 % horse and after the speed update from LU 17 my pet just cannot keep with up me. I often have to wait 10+ seconds of it to catch up to me. If I get jumped by a mob this can be the entire fight. If their base speed could be brought up or perhaps their speed automatically dynamicly matches that of the caster that would be great!
