There needs to be more faction gains all around, it takes a really long time to get faction.

While I have no problem putting faction on the solo quests, your statement is just plain incorrect.  The GU has been out less than a week and I'm nearly maxed, just by running instances and the contested zone for a couple hours.  So if "really long time" you mean one week, than ya

yeah he had posted days ago that he had 27k faction already. He probably has his 40k by now, it is ridiculous. One week to max and it is still to slow? I mean wow... truly wow (actually WoW takes longer for factions lol)

EDIT: I would like to see faction added to the Solo Zone Quests.. even if it is 250, being one a day that isn't bad and would help casuals/soloers which are the only ones going to have a slow time at the faction.

What if you cant access the group content, how can you get faction then?

I grinded my factions in DoV1, i cant do that in DoV2 since theres nothing to work while solo. I consider this progress VERY slow.

You only need faction for 2 things:

  • Using the Mender
  • Buying Heroic armor that requires a drop (Dozekar's head) from the final boss in Underdepths

If you aren't grouping, then Claws of Veeshan faction doesn't really accomplish anything.

Yes, ive since realised this indeed is the case. So, gaining faction as solo is irrelevant...

What if one just like to have max faction and can't get groups? Just because you can't use it doesn't mean it shouldn't be obtainable for a sec of the population. Raiders always being a dicktate what casuals/soloers do.

The fact is, much of the community in this game simply won't allow some people to get groups unless they meet their ridiculous requirements. You must have so much of this, you must have so much of that, have X amount of HP, be raid geared (for a group zone), your class isn't good DPS, on and on. It's funny how much certain people complain about how "solo oriented" EQ2 is, yet when soloers try to group with those same people, they're shunned for not being "uber" enough.

As for faction not being necessary for non-groupers, people may still desire to max their faction because you never know what SOE may add down the road that will require it, plus people like having goals to pursue on their chars, and faction is one of them.

That's not true at all.

There are lots of groups being formed for the access quests and those provide a lot of faction and more importantly the only requirement is to be level 90.

There is no such thing as can't get groups when everyone and their alts want to run those access quests.

Well I don't know what server you're on, but I can tell you from watching chat on AB that people assembling groups for UD always set raid level requirements on people for joining. Being in raid gear myself, I meet all their silly demands if I want to run with them, but that doesn't change the fact that they're setting the bar too high and excluding people.

So you are at the mercy of these people to go there and are somehow barred from forming your OWN group? If you want it, do it. If you want someone else to do the organizing then you take what you can get. It is YOUR choice, so quit whining about it.

I am on Splitpaw and there are loads ( and i do mean loads ) of people doing those quests and starting groups all the time.

The centre hub in Dracur is always full of people as well and I have a hard time believeing that on AB ( which has much bigger population ) getting a group together is such  a big issue.

Start your own group if some people set ridiculous demands.

Score +1 for not reading. I said I can get groups for those no problem, but that doesn't mean anyone can. If sticking up for people who are constantly walked over and snubbed by the high-enders is whining in your book, then whatever.

you = one, but using one sounds pretentious sometimes, so you in the plural sense.

Either way it doesn't matter. The people forming the group gets to set the rules. If someone doesn't like it they can form their own group. It isn't snubbing...it is just them "playing their way"...just like sone of  the casual people like to whine on and on about.

Still don't change the fact that a section of the populate is being denied a path to max out their faction just because the don't do groups. Just because people solo doesn't mean there shouldn't be a way they can work to gain faction.

I don't know why Ranknid feels threaden by these people. For some reason I guess they feel everyone should be like them and if they are not then they shouldn't have anything.

That is like saying a section of the population is being denied a path to max out Far Seas faction just because they don't do tradeskills.

The faction is there to reward people for completing heroic end game content (minus the mender), therefore it makes sense to make grouping a pre-requisite.

It would make no sense for people to be able to solo up all the faction they want then get heroic rewards.

Don't feel threatened at all. The entitlement mentality is a like a splinter under my skin though. Some people seem to think the simple fact of something being in the game means that they should have access to it no matter what their playstyle. That is just sad. They need to grow up and accept that there are some things that are either out of their reach, or within their reach with work. Not being flexible, and yet still expecting it all, is just an entitlement attitude.

The entitlement won't go away for awhile.  This era of youth is the entitlement era.  Trust fund babies and those that want to be decided gaming was the new hotspot.  Probably set their coach purse down by their rock-climbing shoes while they play.

There should not be a solo way to max out a faction that gives only heroic rewards.Heck, you need to kill the boss of Underdepths to get the currency to even purchase the gear from the faction merchant.

No, they are not being "denied", they are making their own choice to deny themselves.  Every level 90 player  has the ability available to them to obtain the faction.  There is a way they can work to gain the faction.  They can CHOOSE to obtain it, by joining a group and earning it.  It isn't rocket science.  Your reasoning is akin to saying "I don't want to have to walk up to the counter with everyone else to order my food.  It should be brought to me because I'm being denied the ability to get it."  Please.

I guess I just don't see the bitterness against it really? If there is nothing for the solo player on ther merchant, then who cares if they can gain faction or not?

They have one solo zone a day.... how long would it take them to get faction this way? Alot longer than the grouper. So I ask, why does anyone even care if they can get it or not?

That same faulty logic has been, and will be, used, again and again, as a crutch. It is a tired argument used by those who dont want to do the prescribed work to get a fitting reward.

"I don't want to do X to get Y. Give me another way...even if it takes longer."

Edited to add: I am now expecting this very type of conversation to take place in another thread within the General Gameplay Discussion forum in 3....2.....1

So you don't actually have a valid reason against it then? Just hate seeing the arguement in general? Interesting...

Doesn't affect me as I group, other than Dev time being wasted (which is really the only valid arguement against it), it seems to me to make no difference if solo-ers get the faction or not /shrug

Sure I do, I guess you didn't pick up on the bolded. I don't want the devs to to cater to every single entitlement attitude as the game is fine as it is with different rewards available for different actions. That is one of the things that give the game it's flavor.

I don't understand you. There is nothing for you to gain with that faction, which is why there is no way for you to gain it solo. Please stop asking for stuff you don't even need, if you want the faction then group up and get it like everyone else.

That excuse with why do you care what others are doing is precisely what brought this game to its knees.
