I think the header says it all.

I am currently at lvl 32, from day one I have been using a 1 handed and shield, now that I am level 32 (yeah i am growing up :robotwinkSMILEY Is it a big difference if I switch over to a fabled or legendary 2 handed (if I could find one so to say) or should I just stay with mastercrafted? Kinda lost because I dont want to loose the shield slam. At the same time though will the 2 hand pick DPS up a bit? I dont group alot and mainly solo so that plays a big part in it. My current AA build is 4-4-8 INT with 3 into reaving so far.

Like I said from a mainly solo SK (due to unusual playtimes) should i stay one handed or get a 2 handed?

Thanks all

If your mainly solo I would say don't bother with the 2 hander.

Eventualy you will want one, but I wouldn't spend a bunch of cash or time hunting for one.

Do the ghoulbane quest, it served me well in my late 30's and up to mid-40's.  Then do the Bone-Bladed Claymore and an Ancient Desert Power, they are good for 50's.

I carry both, a shield and 1 hander (hammer and sword) and a 2-hander (sword).  I have not found a good 2-handed hammer I like yet.  I switch out based upon the situation.  I use the 2 hander when soloing easier stuff.  Switch to shield/1-hander for harder mobs and groups.  I use hammer most of the time for hammer ground (STA AA), but will switch to sword if I am not mian tank to get the WIS AA sword bonus (don't remember the name).

I don't use piercing weapons, my skill there is realy low.  Again, I have not found any that I really like.  Besides a barbarian SK will slash or beat on things, not stick it with a tiny weapon. YARR

Soefje summed it up pretty good.   It's situational.   I can tell you that a group most likely will not be impressed to see you tanking with a 2hander.  :smileywink:

2h is for dps mode in raids, or fighting casters in pvp.. board and sword is your mainstay

Wow thanks for all the replies!

Although i didnt know I should have to get Piercing skill up due to our Boot ability.

Anyways where do you start the Ghoulbane quest at? Or the other ones for that matter. i am sure they are fairly hard correct?

Thanks again for the information!

Thank you for the Link to the quests, I feel bad because after I asked would they be hard and where to start them at it dinged in my head that.

1) It should be a HQ quest so heck yeah it will be hard

2) I always check out Allakhzam for most of my quest information!

So to sum this all up, sorry It seemed as I was lazy and thank you for your time.

Thanks again

what about a fabled 2hander? the inc dmg from that combined with the healing potential we have should negate it enough to make it ok to tank with it right? specifically speaking of captain's ever-shifting voulge, from courts, i got it the other day and have been using it ever since. its seemed to work well enough for me, but if more experienced players still disagree then dont take mine SMILEY

between the lifetap on my 2hs, ring, earring, and AAs - there's no need to sword and board unless healer is not on par.

Man, I never knew that.  I have not seemed to notice it missing.  I guess I will have to buy a spear and go play with some grey mobs for a while.  :smileyvery-happy:

Well Hmm guess I need to grab me a piercing weapon as well, I haven't noticed anything different from Boot but I guess I haven't really paid much attention to the numbers. As long as the mob gets knocked down I figured it was working properly.

Goes to show why it is important for classes to talk on the forums to teach each other.

Thanks for the great information again all

Thanks

Ok I tried the whole Boot ability thing to try it out. I didn't notice any difference in the damage output of the boot ability with some skill in Piercing and without skill. It was the same damage. Even with the new lvl 33 Boot ability same deal does around 95 damage per "boot".

So either I am gullible or this simply is not the case with this ability.:smileyvery-happy:

take care all again thanks

Get both.  Use 2H when you're off-tank, 1h + shield when you're MT.  Mastercrafted is baseline.  Good Legendary is a nice bump up.  Fabled if you're lucky.  I am sad that I'm about to outgrow a Royal Great Flail on my 53 Zerker.

I pretty much agree with everyone, I kept my pierce skill up just in case and sure enough, the best 2h I could afford at the time turned out to be pike of pain and it has served me well for the few months I have been lvl 70. I keep 4 different 1h handy for AA's and since some mobs are resist to slash or crush for example. and 2 different shields, although now that my grizzle thingy shield has the heal addornment its all I use.
