Weaponsmith.  Armorer.  Woodworker.

Provisioner.  Alchemist

That's pretty much it.  The first 2 for obvious reasons.  Woodworker for shields and totems.  Provisioner for food and drink.  Alchemist for spells.

Up to you, I picked armorer to help gear up my guy for mitigation/health/power/stats without paying a arm or leg for armor.  Other useful ones is alchemist to make your spells and useful potions, Provisioner to make free(relatively) food and drink for you.  Weaponsmith if you want to try out alot of crafted rare weapons or jeweler to make all your your main jewelry/resist gear.  All  depends on your preference of playing, if you are not in a guild and/or like to solo alot, a provioner will save you alot of coin no matter what tier you are in.  If you group and/or in a guild you might prefer armorer or jeweler for the primary pieces you can make for you and friends.  The same can apply to Alchemists also, I almost wish i made a alchemist alt for the sheer consumption of potions i drink in a game week...SMILEY

Decision is up to you but once you go past the above professions, you will see a minimal benefit to your ability to gear up your paladin directly.  Other professions can help via sales to allow you to buy the gear you need but the above have a direct relationship for you.

I went woodworker because there aren't alot of woodworkers, and I go through  many more totems than i do potions (mainly cuz i'm super stingy with my potions, considering how much I pay for them!)

Hmm. good point, power regen totems, chameleon totems, spirit of the wolf totems plus some others i use too would come in handy, all about player preference...SMILEY

Just to further comment, to practically help the paladin out:

1. Alchemist: you have 10+ spells a round to upgrade... maybe several times.

2. Armorer: 7 pieces per round

3. Jeweler:  again, 7 pieces per round... but these aren't as critical

4. *Woodworker:  really, only one shield... but I go through totems like they are going out of style

5. Weaponsmith:  3-4 per round, depending on your play style... I really only use a few weapons... and they're not crafted.

The other question to ask is what can you make money at?  This depends on your server.  *If I was picking again, I would go with a woodworker I think... they must make a killing off of Chameleon totems alone.  Provisioners make good coin, but I hear the market crashed cause they're so numerous now.

The other thing is people are being forced to TS to at least lvl 50, if not 60 due to the new HQ's, I think we are going to see a glut on the market on stuff just because there is going to be so much stuff out there.

Pick an ability none of your friends / guildmates have, that way you can compliment and assist each other instead of duplicating specialties.
