So after winning an ebon last night via a roll after our raid of FM, I went to get my newest (and last) piece of Ebon armor from my local L50 Armorer. So he asks me what I want, and I let him know: Vanguard Gauntlets 10 or so mins later, he comes out with my new shiny gauntlets and I attune them. Just then did I realize that I needed GUSSETS, since I already got my gauntlets earlier this week. SMILEY 10 seconds earlier and I at least could have sold them on the brooker....fyi I got a HUGE 3g or something for selling them back to the vendors...lol

ouch! /comfort

Since so many items tend to range in names based on armor types, I tend to provide crafting instructions as generic as possible such as shirt, pants, shoulders, gloves, forearms, boots, etc.

That's the downside of gussets/gauntlets -- close spelling and can slip your mind easily on what you have.

I was emailing an ebon cluster to our guild armorsmith one day, when I noticed just a split second before I hit send, he /gu hello all and I had one letter misspelled.  Of course there's a good chance the typo wouldn't have been another player, but what if's ran through my mind a few times.  It really made me start paying very close attention to details when dealing with expensive items/rares/etc.

Like me, I bet you don't make that mistake again SMILEY

Thanks,
Kalen

dam poor you. its like if you had bited your [Removed for Content] yourself.

I remember when I were playing playin EQ1 int he bigining. Then I wanted to help a newby monk and I gave him an old 2hb that I wasn,t using anymore. But I made a mistake and I gave him my Transcandent staff. I were on a PvP server b4 Luclin so it was like the best tradable monk weapon.

So I were probably feeling the same as you SMILEY

Yeah the only good thing (not that its' good...but tolerable) is that it was won with DKP (dragon kill points) and I didn't need to pay for it SMILEY

Ouch that's too bad.

One of the things I do as a crafter (35 weaponsmith) is before I start working with a rare (any rare) I always double check with the client as to what they want and I then write it down on a post-it note and stick it right on my monitor. I would feel awful if I made the wrong piece for someone, not to mention I the dent my bank account would take replacing the rare.

While I realize this wouldnt have affected your situation but I do think its a good idea and thought I would share.

Good luck in getting another ebon.
