Ok, guys...FAARWOLF has posted in the non-gameplay discussion board  for their respective subclasses to nominate a representative. A sort of when you think of Paladins who post who comes to mind. These are people you see in the Boards, not in game.

You can either post on the non game play board or we can nominate someone in ours and post the results in the lounge. Your choice! I think they are trying to start the Guide thing again...sort of.

Here is the link! remember to vote! With a unified voice we're more likely to be heard!

Anybody that supports the coming Cheater Servers should be DQ'd immediately.  Pallys do NOT cheat.

Very true. I feel about it just as strongly as you do. Station Exchange is a TERRIBLE idea, but unfortunately the DEVs will go ahead and do this anyways. To each his own, I guess.

I think a class guide or correspondent would be a great idea.

I can think of a few people who would do a great job. However I'm not certain who would want the job.

Perhaps thoose of you who are interested could post here with your intentions/ideas so that we can at least only nominate interested parties.

Hey Uzhiel, why don't you and Sanjun just tag team it?

I think the 1 representative is not the way to go... after all in the end it will just be one person and one person's opinions - and as we all know there are many ways to play the class... rather than submitting a single name we could spend hours and hours arguing over submit a "council" of sorts with the disclaimer that these guys know the ins and outs of the class pretty well but are not the last word on what works and what doesn't and will on occasion be inaccurate / wrong.Take for example a n00bs questions:

Where do I buy my lvl 20 horsy fluff spell from?It is pretty much only a single answer affair
but take a question that is far more likely to come up?
How do you see yourself in a end game raid scenario? They'll be one person suggesting that Main tanking is the way to go - another says you should go complete DPS and another will say - no supporting tank - heals rezs etc. I don't think ONE SINGLE person (no offence to any of you guys) will know how to play our class in every circumstance with every conceivable outcome.

As it stands now asking the second question on the boards will net you any number of responses. Sift though the posts and the original person who asked the question will be given allthe information he needs to make an informed decision. That is what I appreciate on this board and I’m sure the people who stop by asking questions think the same.

Anyway all of that guff Aside - Uzhiel and SanJun seem to be the best two choices available. Uzheil takes our fight outside and SanJun keeps us imformed on the more technical aspects. EDIT: Thanks to the few of you who thought of as little ole me, but as I have it pointed out to me a few times I am only lvl 35 I know "Jack" about end game. My Pally has bee here since the first week - I like to take my time

Maybe it's me but I feel that Paladins need to have a roleplay in this, there should be an element of roleplay for this representative to truly represent Paladins. Look at all the good fantasy novels, Dragonlance had a Council of 3 in the Knights of Solamnus (err...I know I spelt it wrong :smileysurprisedSMILEY, the Sparhawk novels had the Council of the 4 Orders (sigh..forgotten so much!), King Arthur and his knights etc. The fact that we can't decide on the most eminent Paladins on these boards is the Paladin way :smileywink:!.

I know these are only forum boards but I would like to do it properly and with a little style..

Anyone think this is a bad idea?

My choice would be the Council of Three: SanJun, Uzhiel and Darkith

Ive read your opinions and I agree with the Paladin changes that may occur. I vote for Uzhiel. (Respectively to the other candidates)

There are a couple well informed posters on this board, but we need to make sure we choose someone who just isn't going to try to make Paladin's the highest dps, best tanking, best healer, etc.....we need someone who will listen to ALL of the posters here (since we have some good ones) and then post suggestions as to what he/she believes to be the best action to take to the devs about those issues. The post on this board about the current changes, is a good post to see the way that a lot of us post, as to what the issues are, and what we believe should be the answer. I guess I am trying to say, while being the best DPS, best healer, best tank etc, would be nice...we need someone with a level head to try to come up with a middle ground, and then draw on the responses from the community....before they rush to the devs with "OMG, MAKE US UBAH!!11111".... Just my 2 cents SMILEY

Respect to all, great and noble minds that have been nominated, but SanJun/Kalen has got to be my choice... assuming this is even a voting-type contest. Maybe we should go 'Battle Royale' and the last one to come out alive gets the nod... SMILEY

Good afternoon all!

I've been off the boards a few days now making screen shots in-game of 40+ equipment to update the thread I started a few weeks ago.  I should be able to make several of the updates tomorrow or the following day.

I appreciate all the nice nominations to help represent the Paladin community issues, but I'm not sure I'd be a really good candidate.  I have a brand new project starting at work that is about to monopolize a large chuck of my time.  However, I'd be more then willing to work with everyone to assist any way I can.

I love posting on the boards and discussing a variety of Paladin topics, but secretly I do this to learn as much from you guys as you'll ever learn from me SMILEY  I guess the secret is out now!  I did not play EQ1 and don't have those ground roots for comparison so I have to work extra hard sometimes to keep up.  The terms MT, OT, MA, Proc, OOM, etc. were all greek to me before I started on EQ2.  I do read a lot of the posts on the forums and I'm willing to share any tips/advice/insight I discover in-game or via other mediums, but sometimes I still feel like a noob on certain topics.

Uzhiel and many others post fantastic topics of interest and I wouldn't hesitate to work as a team with anyone on the Paladin forum to address topics of interest that currently impact or could impact our game play.   I do go 2-3 days on the uncommon occasion where I'm unable to access the Paladin forum.  I'm sure many of you experience the same dilema and that's why I propose we strive for a group to make our representation accurate and timely.

Thanks,
Kalen

So....

I actually read Faarwolf's post in detail, and while the thread seems to be a jump on the bandwagon sort of thing, at no point does it say she's looking for 'representatives', or any input from these people at all. Just which individual of each class comes to mind, perhaps simply to create discussion, or give credit to those that help out the others. Maybe we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves and crown our own Queen of the forums here.

If you played SWG, (another SOE ran game) then you know that each class had a rep. that was the go to person for the devs...these players got little nifty board icons, etc, but really there function was to gather data (from playing on Test Server where they did dps tests, etc..) and then make posts on a special board they were given access to.  So pretty much whether this happens now, or later, eventually there is going to be a position where someone will speak for us all....hopefully from listening to all of us on the board...
