No selfrespecting Knight/Pally would beat stuff with a stick, IMHO. I dont htink it fits. Im using the Shiny Brass Halbered at 34 tho its not crushing like you mentioned but you left it off the excellent weapons we can use list. It looks awesome and hits HARD. Just my take.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  If you want to use a staff, be a mage.  I mean really, who wants to suit up in shiny armor, climb on top of your noble steed, and heroicly charge into battle just to whack gnolls with a stick.  Hey, I've got an idea.... why don't they let use ice comet or summon up rock pets.... other classes get to do that...

scouts would looks weird with a big stick, and also their weapon selection is already plenty. just look at all the heritage quests, SSoY, PGT, SBD all dual weild and completely useless to paladins.

the only decent heritage quest item we get is EBBC and we can't use it while tanking, which is what we aer SUPPOSED to do most of the time.

screaming mace is nice, but we can't afford to lose hate on a weapon, or even if we could, we wouldn't wanna take the chance.

yes, we have ghoulbane, but when was the last time you see a high lvl 40-50 pally with their ghoulbane?

if you compare the stat between H Crook and EBBC, the stats are extremely similar. but the difficulty of the quests?

for H Crook, you have to do 1 access quest and basically finish the quest in 3 hours.

for EBBC, we had to camp berik, or buy it off the broker for 2pp, and that is next to impossible. we have to either harvest an ebon cluster (which is extremely rare) or buy it for 6pp (and that's the cheapest i have seen), and that is next to impossible too. no bent ebon disk or anything can be use EXCEPT for ebon cluster, which is also ridiculous. kill 1000 undead, then get the sword.

bah. after all this rant, my point is simple. it's hard to find a nice 2 hander crushing weapon and why let the H crook hang on the wall and go to waste? LET us use STAFFS!.... besides, it just looks cooler..

Not that I care for staffs, but aren't most joust made from wood? Suppose you could charge in with that. Wood was more commonly used in battle than that of iron/steel ect. back in "those" days and also found quite repetively in RPG based tales. Not every Knight had a sword formed of steel. Not every kingdom had those royalties either. Place a knight with a spiked wooden staff and a knight with a sword in combat. Guess who won? The guy with the longer range.

Maybe what he really wants is a Friar like in Daoc ...I did love my friar though when I come to think about it hehe But No Staves for Paladins, no no no no
