Greetings,
I am posting this to both the Shadow Knight and Paladin forums because I must shortly make a major decision, but this is NOT another standard “Should I go Shadow Knight or Paladin?” question.  (However, if anyone would care to comment on the pros or cons of either that is welcome as well.)

My crusader is currently a resident of Freeport.  My guild, to which I am very committed, is based in Qeynos.  For role-play purposes I would rather like to go Shadow Knight, realizing full-well that I will miss out on some benefits of residing in the city to which my guild is aligned.  I also realize that I will miss out on doing some quests with my guild-mates, even if I am able to do the actual hunting with them.  And, I have experienced the betrayal already, so I’m aware of what is involved.

My question is about later in the game, levels 30 plus.  Does the game become more city-faction independent in later levels or will I be largely dooming myself to forgoing a large portion of the quests available to groups 30 plus by being aligned to Freeport rather than Qeynos along with my guild, with whom I enjoy hunting?

A good chunk of the 30+ group quests I've come across are picked up nowhere near a city. Only problem I can forsee is that you wont be able to pick up guild writs or spend status.

I don't know the situation of your guild, but in the end I think it's more important to play what YOU want.If your personal char is not 100% what you like you gonna regret it more and more in the future.Since you are not a high level Paladin and still in the Crusader class, maybe it's not too late to start a 2nd char in Qeynos. Levelling should go fairly easy and your guildmates could help you out. That way you get to keep your ShadowKnight in Freeport as well SMILEY
