Paladin Heal

I am a 17 crusader who is getting ready to begin Pally quest. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the lvl 22 heal hits for... i.e. is it just for down time or does it actually make soloing, when needed, easier. If I remember correctly the Pally heals in eq1 were mainly for downtime until you hit about lvl 44 or so. I will find out shortly but any info that someone could give regarding the usefulness they have found for the "tank" heals would be much appreciated.

I just hitt pally lvl 20 today and tried the new heal spell. Seems it heals your health bar fully but can only be used once every 15mins.

Now that would be Lay of Hands at 20 no? That has always been a Complete Heal of sorts, but it can be used every 15 minutes you say? If that is the case that would be incredible because it has historically been a every hour type of ability. The first "quick recast" heal I thought the pallys got was at 22...but if what you say is true about LoH then that is exciting. Nerfable exciting yes...but still exciting.

Lay of Hands can be recast every 30 minutes, not 15. 1800 seconds as the spell itself says. It doesn't seem to completely heal me at 20 either, more like 3/4s of the way or so, but I can't confirm that. Everytime i use it, I'm kinda panic'ed SMILEY

. I'm assuming that higher versions of the spell (apprentice 2, 3....adept 1) might deal more health.

I have adept 1 book for the Lay Of hands... only heals about 700..... the heal at level 22 heals about 180. After your done casting it, its about a 2 second recast timer for next one.

Doubtful you've capped out your skill in the adept book yet. I have it myself, and it's mastered at 150 skill (Determined Faith). For comparison, I have 116 at level 23.Blessed Aid, which was the heal the original post asks about, hits me for 208 points currently (at 116 skill - app2 of the spell, and it masters at 160).It's served me well, although I usually stick to Demonstration of Faith as it's still a bit more mana efficient.

. . . and with "implied healing" or whatever maybe I can avoid laying hands on the mobs now.
