I believe it raises automatically whenever you try to use a Combat Ability and are being attacked at the same time. I know I've seen my focus increase, but never paid too much attention to the circumstances.

![]() Best way to raise Focus is to apply a fairly long duration DOT, such as the effect from the Vessel of Fyr'Un for example, and cast Call of Qeynos while the DOT is in effect.

I believe focus only gets checked when one is casting spells not combat arts. We have very few spells. As the previous poster noted, CoQ works. I have gotten 4 or 5 skill ups in one cast if I cast CoQ while a MoB is trying to hit me. Hex Dolls also work.

Nah. I've had combat arts raise focus, but the requirements to raise them is that you have to take physical damage sometime during the casting time. Most combat arts have casting times of less than 2.0 seconds so its hard to notice. |

![]() Hmmm. Come to think of it, Nektulos Forest is perfect for this, what with the new flowers that damage you when you walk near them.

a very easy way to raise it for a melee class is pull of few encounters (solo and low lvl ones) then cast gate...wait for 25 sec, break it and recast...rince and repeat until you're maxed...should go pretty fast:smileytongue:

Find mobs that can hit you but for really low dmg so they can't really kill you, get some to attack you, Call of Qeynos. Break the call by sitting just before it goes off. Repeat. That's what i did awhile back.

![]() I still suggest Nektulos forest. the new flowers around the zone damage you with DOTs if you just go near them.

![]() Find a little spot away from people. Train a bunch of mobs and Feign. Keep doing it.

For me the most consistant way was to use Hex Dolls while being hit. They've got a fairly long cast with almost no recast (just the universal cooldown of 0.5 sec iirc). Pull a couple grouped clusters of low lvl mobs onto you and start casting. Make sure the most cans hit you at as that's the main component is taking some sort of damage to activate a focus skill check.

This is what i did, and it took no longer then 5 minutes to go from 40 to 150...I went to Thundering Steepes, and found a herd of Deer...10-15 of them all linked...I used my taunt on one, and they all came running....As soon as they started to hit me, i yelled for help and it broke the combat...Once i was outta combat, i started to spam CoQ and Focus started going up like mad, while all the Deer were biting away at my ankles...
