This is why monks have a hard time getting their LFG tag turned off.

A wise man once said, "MOM! We need to try and be a little more constructive here, okay?"It was John Connor at the age of 12, in Terminator 2, Judgement Day.

1. Monks are good soloers of solo mobs.  Who isn't.2. Monks can replace tanks in groups, duos.  I'd hope so.3. Monks are not raid tanks unless you want your raid end quick and nasty.  Oh please.  Speak for yourself and you own lack of skill.4. Not all monks are wearing full fabled.  Don't need to.5. Not all monks have chance to raid.  They do if they want to.6. Not all monks have full Master spells.  The point?7. Not all monks having Tsunami (Hey, there are monks lower than L55)  Good for them.8. Not all monks are female because of Gi.  Doesn't even make sense.9. Monk boards are place to share latest Gi fashion.  They are a place to share anything, as this post obviously shows.10. Monk boards can be used to brag but not often as others.  ?11. Monk boards can be used to whine but not often as others.  ?12. Monks can get hit, and with three times more damage than any plate and around same avoidance with certain plate classes.  Heh, negative.13. Monks can not revive.  Everyone can revive, not everyone can ressurect.14. Monks fails on Feign Dead (4% chance of failing, can happen 5 times in a row for example)  Of course, that is what a % chance to fail everytime you do something means.15. Monks don't have immune to mental effects for certain period (That's bruisers, wrong board buddy)  Technically, we do.16. Monks can get haste up, however with sacrifce of damage and health.  Sacrifice of damage?  /rofl.  Do you even know what you're talking about?17. Not all monks are Level 70.  Eventually everyone will be max lvl, all it takes is time.18. Not all monks are fully Achievement Abilities complete template.  So?19. Not all monks wear Gi.  OMG, no way!?20. Not all monks post here.  So.21. Every monk have a special ability called "Melee-Attack"  ...22. Every monk have ability to join groups.  Omg leet beta infoz.23. Monks has defensive / offensive stances like any fighter class.  Don't forget mixed.24. Being monk means accepting being hit hard and often.  Wrong.25. Being monk means leaving guardians to their own fantasy world.  Wrong.26. Monk is not DPS class.  Took you 26 things to say something that made sense and was worthwhile.
27. Monks are not given prismatic weapons by default.  No class is.
28. As general, dropped items are not monk spells or abilties.  Yeah, I crafted all my stuff.
Worst post ever.

29. The hardest part of having a monk tank raids, is to convince 23 other people to let you do it.30. But then again, most Monks are avoidance tanks, they try to avoid tanking as much as possible.

Hey, it was an innocent question.  I mean, I don't want him to be my spokesperson any more than he wants a raiding monk to be his (as is obvious from the constant usage of contrived leet speak when he's referencing raiding monks in his previous posts).  I'm sure other monks out there will agree that it's hard enough to convince some guild leaders to let them even attempt to tank raid mobs, without posts like this one saying we're just squishie and can't do anything besides being mediocre.  I chose to play a monk, because I love the martial arts fighters in any game (I grew up playing Karateka, Street Fighter, etc), not so that I could out-DPS a wizard or outtank this class or that class.  I put a lot of time into this game, because it's enjoyable and because I can.  Should I take pity on the guy that is misrepresenting me because he plays at a different level and is preaching his experience as truth?  Why should any non-monk look to this thread before looking at the amazing FAQs (composed by the monk COMMUNITY) that are already in place?  What gives this guy the right to get up on the podium and declare to all visitors of this forum that his list of 28 random bullet-points are "What is monk, what not..."?  That is truly the core of my question.

The moral of the story is....  If you're not a monk and want to know more about monks, read the FAQ.  That's why it's there and that's why it's stickied.  But if you want to really understand the monk class, PLAY ONE!

Oh yeah, and John Connor also used an Atari Lynx to steal money from an ATM.   Not exactly my kind of role-model SMILEY  But thanks for implying that a twelve year-old is wiser than I am, that's extremely constructive.

Whatever man.  Whatever.

Just so you know - I'll tank circles around any "meat-in-a-can" tank any day.  Yeah, I'm usually not this boastful, but it's rubbish that I've seen across the boards these past few days that has me [Removed for Content] off enough to do it.

It's posts like this that end up giving out bad information for those who do not understand the monk class.

You guys ever have a life? Relax man, it is a fun thread. "Worst post ever", yeah, was not meant to be serious post mr. sensei. No wonder no love for you SMILEY

Oh and other Mr. I-know-betters, I never want to represent you, if you wanted to laugh a bit, be my guest. If you don't... go play a bit rather than ego satisfaction here. Man, you all sound like you are not playing at all but calculating through maths and just see numbers.  Oh well, your choice, I enjoy the scenery. You enjoy numbers.

No worries Scarllett, Kaio is a better tank than I am.  I have told him that myself.   Monk tanks are the best for groups IMHO.  Very little downtime, no need to rest for healers to get power back because we don't get hit like the tank classes.

Wow.  The feeling I got from the OP was one of light-hearted comedy.  It looks to me like something in jest.  Sorry that other monks took it personally and jumped all over you man.  I thought the list was cute myself.  I'm surprised that others got so defensive.  Some touchy people lately.  SMILEY

Bah.  You're probably right.  It was about 6am when I read this post, plus the fact that I got to it right after reading some of the other heated threads about monk prowess.  I was tired and annoyed.  So I'll withdraw my offensive comment about the poster.

We have to be careful, though - especially in times when the monk is in the "negative" spotlight - funny or not, someone will read these lines and take them to heart.

Scarllett.  You're my #1 hot wizzy.  I've got nothing but love for you girl.  <3

Well, that and your killer Ice Comet that pushes me to excel.  :smileywink:

Shao - You're every bit of the tank I am.  Who do you think taught me how to MA?

I'll see you two in game tonite.  Let's do something fun that has a low chance of success and gives us glory forever.  You know, the typical night when we're all together.  :smileyvery-happy:

Well, who can take them to heart except "No, we rocking, we are superior! I rock, you suck" yelling monks ? SMILEY

I was just to point out some humour in all enraged people lately. Then why would I write we got a melee-attack? SMILEY

And thanks to Ai064 for only one able to see behidn it.  Have a nice day

24. Being monk means accepting being hit hard and often.

My favorite comment from a group came about a month ago in Blackscale Sepulcher, they asked if I could tank the zone, and I said sure.  They asked if I'd ever tanked it before, I said I hadn't.  I guess they didn't believe me cause they ended up adding another healer in the group.

After about 10 minutes in the leader asked if I could get hit more so the healers had something to do.
