Hello, earlier today when i was raiding i decieded to see how good my attack was with just my fists. I compare the attack rating of my 2x Pristine Imbued Scaled Cestiis to them and i am blown away! With the cestiis my attack is 1000 somethin and when i just use my fists it is 1300!!! Is this a bug or did we just get buffed without noticing?

Were you able to hit anything barefisted while raiding?I'm thinking is a bug, otherwise... what's the point of having a weapon?!

I actually was messing around with this today too, while doing some t5 raiding.  Sure enough, with 2 DWers equipped I was in the 1100 range.  When I unequiped both weapons, my attack skyrocketed to like 1400.  I messed around with a few configurations and found that it's your primary slot that really determines/lowers your attack rating.  I was able to put my Godking weapon in my secondary slot and it actually boosted my attack rating ever so slightly.  I was able to epics just fine, though I think the consensus is that named mobs require a legendary or better weapon to be able to damage then.

Now my question about this silliness is, what delay do you have bare-fisted?  Are you automatically at the delay cap of .8s?

My friend and fellow monk actually had a parser handy when I shared my findings on the attack rating with him, so I asked him to test it out on his monk.  Unarmed, despite having significantly higher attack rating, the DPS indicated by the parser was about 100 DPS lower than with legendary weapons.  This leads me to believe that it's a display bug.  Either that or the parser was on crack SMILEY

I think it's a display bug. I first noticed it right after LU13. I noticed my attack rating was highest with only an offhand weapon equiped. which made no sense. So i never bothered testing it further. I have mentored with a low lvl group that had a lvl 20ish monk who was using only an offhand weapon. He was doing barely any damage, and when i inspected him i saw his weapon set up. I told him to start using a 2hander (he only had 1 DW) and was finally able to do some damage. Purely anecdotal, but it seems consistent.I kinda miss having fists as an option like in eq1...

Its a display bug. Start a level 1 Monk or Bruiser. Remove the dual wield weapons you get automatically, your attack will show almost 600, for a level 1, lol. You dont fight like it though. Therefore = display bug. :smileywink:

Yeah, i just tested it out too. about 1000 normally. 1438 with just an offhand weapon. 1334 with no weapons. Bizzare.
