Question from a new berserker

My warrior recently hit 20 and acheived his berserker class, but I have a question. At 20 we receive Focus Rage which gives us a %5 chace per hit of procing a attack damage and speed buff. Now we also get a choice for a training skill and I chose Balok's Challenge. What I did not realise from the description of this skill, is taht it does the same thing as Focus Rage, gives a 5% chance per hit of procing the sme attack damage and speed buff.

Now my question is how do these two skills work together. Focus Rage has a duration of 6 hours I think, so it will pretty much always be up. Balok's Challenge is an upgrade to Anger. Now when I use Balok's Challenge does it increase my chance to 10% for a short time, or do I have two seperate 5% chances to proc twice? If it procs twice, do I get twice the damage and speed bonus? Or is this really jsut a waste of a choice?

You are going to get many skills that will send you into berserk. They do not stack, the best one (highest attack speed increase) will be the one that works.

Well, I'll ahve to check it again to be sure, but I think the damage and ahste were identical between the two, so i guess I either need to forget about it or use my respec, though I hate to use it so soon..lol

Err, you won't have a /respec unless your character was around when the /respec was offered.Also, it's not a bad choice. While the effects of the Berserks are the same between the two, it gives you another 5% chance to proc a Berserk while it's up. That means that you'll be Berserk more often.

ya, I think I've had this character since before the respec was offered, but can't remember for sure offhand, but he is an alt, not my main or even second alt.

Now if I have a 5% chance for each indivudal buff to go off, then ya I'll keep it and its a good thing. I just thought that the above poster was saying that the effects and the chances don't stack, but now I realsie he may have just meant the effects, couldn't ahve both buffs on at the same time.

You can have both Berserks going at the same time, they just won't stack. However, when using Balok's Challenge, you'll have at least one Berserk up more often.

I think is a good choice. Its a taunt upgrade, thats the main thing. The berserk proc is just a bonus.

Although you won't get the effects of both berserks at the same time, they will have been cast at different times, so you'll be berserk for longer than the 10 seconds that just 1 berserk would have given.
