I was thinking about switching to a custom UI. Any recommendations on a good one for a guardian and along with your recommendation can you also mention if you have difficulties after patches. Thanks in advance!

Although my main is a Necro I also currently have a lvl 47 Guardian. The UI I use is called ProfitUI Reborn. it's a solid UI with updates after every LU usually within a day or two and I luv the interface. Gives all info you could possibly want plus while tanking I can watch all my group mates health very easily. Also, during raids there's buttons setup where with a single click you can change your graphics settings, sound settings, turn on and off shadows etc etc. It's a great UI imo and I highly recommend it to anyone. Not to mention in the Persona page it lists almost all the available stats in game for your character. DPS Mod, Haste/Criticals etc etc. Too much to list.

Many of the UI's on EQ2interface are great.  Not sure why, but I decided on Sage UI.  I used Fetish in the past, but Sage seems to be updated sooner after big patches.  The instructions could use some work, but if you've messed with custom UI's much it's not hard to figure out.

One thing I like about it, is that it has a different log-in screen.  You edit one of the files for your characters and their servers and you are two clicks from playing.  Don't have to re-type the password and such.  You are also instructed to make two desktop shortcuts.  One to launch using the UI, and the other is the regular EQ2 launchpad for getting updates.

Another thing is on the guild window there are tabs for HQ info and many others.

After a bit of plundering on their site, you'll learn you can add/modify many of the things a'la carte' to create just what you like.

Good luck.
