Just couldn't do it anymore. I have been a faithfull SOE player for years. Played EQ1 since day 1 and had 6 accounts. Played SWG for beta and 1 1/2 years after and had 4 accounts. Played EQ2 since day 1 till now and had 3 accounts. My accounts for EQ2 probably would have grown if i had played for another 6 months, but I just can't handle being beaten and bruised by the nerf bat as severely as this game can do it.

So I cancelled my 3 accounts. YES I HAD 3 ACCOUNTS. A level 54 guard, 54 troub, and 52 defiler/52 inquis (both on same account). My guardian was my favorite until he got the BIGGEST NERF BAT BEATING IN HISTORY OF MMPORG's.
Hopefully SOE will one day FIX the game and I can return to play, but I won't hold my breath SMILEY

GOOD LUCK ALL AND HAPPY HUNTING SMILEY

Farewell.  I wish I could say that the problems will be fixed soon, but I don't really believe they will.

He IS adapting...by choosing another hobby that's less frustrating.  Personally...I appreciate this post, hopefully hitting SOE in the billing department will encourage them a little.

Well good luck. Wish you would have found the success that several other Guardians (myself included) have found.

I am a sucessful Guardian. That doesn't mean that I blindly accept the lack of equalness in the fighter class. Some people can work towards a goal in the forums here and still have a positive game experiance.

I like to think I am a successful Guardian too :smileyvery-happy:

I mean, I got my rare gear, my fabled gear and I raid on a regular schedule.

I have a some plat in the bank, nice horse and a sweet house.

I do my part to be an actively contributing member to the advancement of my guild and guildmates.

That being said, the problems causing many to quit are not about the individual success of a few guardians.

It's the general disappointment being felt by the bulk of people playing the class.

It's not about me or you specifically but us as a class.

I've never talked about cancelling before or even looked at playing other games instead of EQ2.

It's always frustrating to read a post where someone has had enough and does just that.

I wish I could say that things would get better but they don't, not really.

I have fun playing my guardian inspite of the current state of our class but as I have always said it is because I play with friends and we'd have fun doing just about anything.

I hate to see another guardian give in but I totally understand and wish the OP all the best.

Games shouldn't be this frustrating and when they are then it's definitely time to move on.

I'm not there yet, but if my friends get bored with EQ2 i'll most likely move on myself since they are the only real reason I am still playing.

You people are such little kids. Things dont always work out the way you wish them to. ADapt and overcome.

You assume people leave because "things don't always work out the way you wish them to." I'm leaving because i don't feel SOE deserves the money i pay to play this game with their lack of customer support, ability to fix bugs that have been in since release, ability to release an expansion worth playing, etc.... The quality of this game is lower than i wish to play.  The only reason i've been playing it is there's nothing else out there, but at the level i am now i feel like i've seen enough, and will move on to something else while waiting to try out vanguard. I've tried out DDO, and it's terrible.  I'm sure the people who love Guildwars will enjoy it, but if it has a monthly fee i don't see it doing very well. Hopefully vanguard doesn't disappoint as much as this game.

While i admire the OP for the strength of his convictions , i also believe that we are held over a barrel as , there are no choices for us in the MMORPG world atm.

I do not wish to play WoW , so it means i have to wait.  I also would rather pay someone other than SOE , but since i cannot , i'll stay for the time being.

I have a 52 guard , who is playable and i solo him alot.  BUT  when i compare him to my monk , it its totally unjustified.

I am lucky i have a grp who all have alts and we play weekly , so i use my monk and it keeps my interest in EQ2 , i also find TSing with my alchemist fun atm and he

is used much more than my Guard.

But with the G/F nagging for me to play less , i am sure with the current state of guards , i can happily aquiesce to her demands soon SMILEY

God people.  The guardian is really not that bad at the moment.  You are still the preferred raid tank in most situations, you still tank fine in a group setting, you still hold aggro quite well.  There are problems yes, but it is not all fire and brimstone as so many people seem to think.

Not its not bad but its no where close to good. Raiding isn't even 1% of the game. I do tank fine in groups but thats it tank, other fighter offer far more. I hold agro better then who?

Perhaps in your guild, but for them to do better, work on your strats.  Pally's are a better class atm as a raid tank, especially against magic.  The only thing they seem to lack is the mit buff, but that can be from a guardian pretending to bring DPS.

Going off into the other fighter class forums I see the same complaints that I see here about their tank class.  Guess what, they are saying the same thing that you are saying about them... "Your class tanks better than mine"  Please tell me where this makes sense because I am at a loss.  If everyone is on the same boat that their tank sucks no matter which subclass why does everyone point fingers at other classes?

I think we pretty much agree then.  Guardians are not horribly broken but there are some obvious deficiencies.  Some of them are shared to a lesser degree by other fighters but in general guardians are getting hit harder by them.  Personally I am a big supporter of closing the dps gap a bit between fighters and dps classes.  Brawlers already seem to have that ability.  Regarding aggro.  Guards seem to do pretty well with aggro in general.  You guys don't have amends, but at the same time you don't need it as much as paladins do.  Currently I think it is SKs who have real aggro issues.  But yeah there are some issues, but things could be a LOT worse.  Heres to hoping stuff gets fixed.
